Chapter 26 Wang Jusheng

Chapter 26 Wang Jusheng

Soon, Chen Ling carried a large bucket full of fish into the cave.

Upon entering the cave, the fish in the bucket paused for a moment, but soon seemed to sense something and, as if suddenly given a stimulant, began to frantically swish their tails.

"pia pia pia!"

Several large and strong grass carp actually jumped out of the bucket and frolicked on the ground inside the cave. It seems that even they have sensed the extraordinary nature of this place!

"Gululu..."

Just as Chen Ling was about to pick up the grass carp that were jumping on the ground...

Suddenly, the turtle in the pond surfaced, stretched its head out on the bank, grabbed a large grass carp in one bite, and quickly dragged it back into the pond, where it began to swallow it greedily.

Strands of blood immediately floated in the pond.

"Good heavens, you're really not being polite!"

Chen Ling shook his head and smiled. After thinking for a moment, he picked up the grass carp on the ground and simply threw them all into the small pond where the turtle was.

These grass carp, unaware of what this meant, swam around happily after entering the water, with some of the more lively ones even actively harassing the old turtle.

The turtle had just finished eating a fish and was still enjoying it when another fish was delivered to its door. How could it refuse it?

It opened its mouth and snatched one of the most lively ones, enjoying it immensely, causing a string of blood-red bubbles to rise from the pond.

The other fish were so frightened that they immediately scattered and fled.

Finding it amusing, Chen Ling released a few more fish into the pond where the turtle lived.

He then picked up a hoe and prepared to create a new small pond specifically for raising fish.

Without further ado, Chen Ling found a spot far from the old turtle and started wielding his hoe.

It only took about half an hour to create a small pond.

Chen Ling filled the cave with the stream water and poured the fish from the bucket into it.

These fish include crucian carp, common carp, and grass carp.

There were even a few eels and small loaches.

There are about 150 in total, both big and small.

After working for half a day, Chen Ling also planted lotus flowers in the newly opened small fishpond.

The lotus flowers grew rapidly and covered the surface of the pond, so that even if the turtle got hungry and went to eat the fish, the fish would have a place to hide.

After tidying up, I leaned on my hoe and admired the scenery for a while.

Only then did he sigh contentedly and leisurely, and leave the grotto.

After leaving the cave, seeing that it was getting late, Chen Ling packed up his fishing rod, picked up a basket full of duck eggs, and went ashore.

Arriving at the donkey cart, he fed the donkey some feed and water, and then drove the cart around the area.

I mainly wanted to go to the sand quarry to see what was going on, and why my younger self was so attached to it.

It was almost dark by then, and everyone had already finished work.

Inside the sand quarry, groups of young workers were shouting and preparing to go out for drinks at a restaurant.

The managers, on the other hand, were lazy, leaning back in their recliners with cigarettes in their mouths, listening to the radio, humming tunes, and not in a hurry when it was time to eat.

Wow, looking at it this way, it really does look great. In the eyes of an average young person, it's definitely much better than staying in the village.

In addition, two old men were herding a large flock of ducks with bamboo sticks toward the houses not far from the sand field.

"Oh, they're ducks from the sand quarry."

Chen Ling chuckled, glanced at the basket full of duck eggs in the cave, and then drove the donkey cart home.

On his way back, he made a detour to the flour mill and bought several large bags of flour.

I also put cucumbers, tomatoes, and a few other vegetables, as well as some fish, in the car so that I could easily take them out when I got home.

……

When Chen Ling arrived home in the evening, he parked the donkey cart in the backyard.

Wang Susu helped carry a few fish, while he carried the vegetables. After locking the door, the two walked towards the front yard.

With fish and vegetables available, Chen Ling is going to show off his skills tonight.

They had only just entered the house, and the fish and vegetables hadn't even been prepared, when someone arrived.

"Fugui, has Fugui returned yet?"

Hearing someone calling from outside the courtyard gate, the young couple came out of the house.

Upon going outside, they were surprised to find it was Wang Laishun's eldest son, Wang Jusheng. This was quite a surprise.

The village secretary's son is a police officer at the township police station.

It's not that his identity is particularly special, but the key point is that he attended a junior college and is the most educated person in Chenwangzhuang.

Few people in the village could get along with him, and he was rarely seen visiting other people's homes.

Aside from exchanging greetings when you bump into someone, he's a rather solitary person.

So when I saw Wang Jusheng standing by the gate with a basket in his hand, sticking his head out and shouting inside, I was quite surprised.

"It's Brother Jusheng, I just got home."

Chen Ling and his wife hurried over and let Wang Jusheng into the courtyard.

Chen Ling glanced at Wang Jusheng's basket, which was covered with a blue cloth, so he couldn't see what was inside.

After the three entered the house, Wang Jusheng put down the basket, smiled at the young couple, and said, "Fugui, I came to find you because I need your help with something."

Chen Ling laughed and waved his hand, saying, "What's this talk about helping or not? Just tell me what you need, Brother Jusheng."

"It's about my wife, your sister-in-law Qiaoling."

As Wang Jusheng spoke, he lifted the cloth covering the basket, revealing a basket full of free-range eggs, all of which were quite large.

“Your sister-in-law Qiaoling had little milk during her first pregnancy, and it was even worse with her second child. She only had a little milk during her postpartum period, and after that, she basically had no milk at all.”

"There's nothing I can do. My second child can only drink formula. Formula can't compare to a mother's milk. It makes the baby so thin and weak, and he doesn't seem very energetic."

"Didn't you order some greens and peanuts for my Dati yesterday? The stir-fried greens were delicious and our whole family thought they were good, but we didn't pay much attention to the peanuts."

"I fried some peanuts around noon, and they tasted just as good as vegetables. My wife ate quite a bit of them too."

"Guess what will happen after we finish eating?"

"She actually started producing milk. She ate lunch and was sleeping while holding the baby when it started flowing. It was all over her chest and belly."

"The bedding was soaked, which made me so happy..."

At this point, Wang Jusheng slapped his thigh, his voice rising several octaves: "Last year, I had to take medicine and eat wild peaches, but my milk still wouldn't come in. I never expected that these greenhouse peanuts would actually work."

Chen Ling was a little surprised to hear this. He thought to himself that these peanuts were grown outside using the water from the cave stream, not the kind that grow inside the cave, yet they still had such magical effects.

It can also help with lactation?

He knew there was a strangely shaped wild peach in the mountains that was good for pregnant women to promote lactation, but he never imagined that his peanuts could do the same.

"Actually, I didn't know the reason at first either."

"It was the peanut porridge I just cooked. My wife drank only half a bowl and her chest was soaked with sweat. That's when I found out what happened. Otherwise, our whole family would still be clueless."

"So I thought I'd ask Fugui to exchange some peanuts for your sister-in-law Qiaoling to eat first."

"By the way, could you please bring some back for me next time you go to the county town..."

"To be honest, my family really can't live without this now, hehe."

With a slightly embarrassed smile, Wang Jusheng pushed a basket of local eggs in front of Chen Ling.

"No, no, no!"

"Brother Jusheng, what are you doing?"

"It's just a few peanuts, not worth much. Why bring so many eggs? Isn't that embarrassing?"

Chen Ling frowned and pushed the eggs back.

"Put it away, Jusheng, I'll go get you some peanuts."

Chen Ling got up, took a urea bag, and filled it with peanuts, which were more than half full.

When Wang Jusheng was mentioned, he said, "If it works for your sister-in-law, then let her eat more. We can't let the child suffer from neglect."

"This……"

Wang Jusheng was at a loss for words. He looked at Chen Ling, then at Wang Susu who was now next to Chen Ling: "Susu, put the eggs away. Fugui bought fresh peanuts from greenhouses. They are far superior to ordinary peanuts."

"No need, no need, Brother Jusheng, please put it away. We're all from the same village, no need to be so formal."

Wang Susu waved her little hand and said.

She was happy when someone asked Chen Ling for help.

That's how life is in the village; you see each other all the time. It's always better to get along well with the villagers than to make enemies everywhere.
