Chapter 101 The Arrival of Vervey

Chapter 101 The Arrival of Vervey

"Your Highness! The centaurs' Fate Bond skill is similar to our Glory skill. This battle will likely be difficult!" Caslo said gravely. There were at least three hundred centaurs in front of them. Roland and the others were already struggling to fight them head-on. The aftershocks of this battle had already torn apart the edge of this nameless forest, and the Battanian archers on horseback dared not approach this dangerous place...

"Humans! This is your last chance! Leave our territory!" the leading centaur roared, issuing his final ultimatum. After all, they were not having an easy time charging into the knights.

"Bullshit!" Roland's face turned ashen. To be able to occupy someone else's territory and still be so self-righteous was truly a rare sight in the world!

"Then you can all stay here!" the centaur leader roared, brandishing his wooden spear. His face flushed red, and veins bulged on his muscles.

"Die!" As the centaurs raised their arms high and swung them out with all their might, wooden spears engraved with magic runes were launched out of the air, the spinning spears tearing through the air and whistling as they flew toward the Holy Knights.

"Defend!" Roland's expression changed instantly. Countless knights were stunned as they watched the javelin hurtling toward them in a parabola. No one had expected the centaur to throw his spear.

"Boom!"

"boom!"

"Click!"

The wooden javelins slammed into the knights' battle aura shields and protruding shields, the immense force from the javelins' tips sending a shiver through the knights.

"Innate superhuman strength! These centaurs!" Roland exclaimed in amazement. The thick wooden spears carried unparalleled explosive power, making Roland, who had just withstood several javelins, exclaim that they were tough guys.

“Sir! They are all natural-born professionals! We are only taking advantage of the weapons right now!” Caslo exhaled a breath of stale air.

Roland quickly scanned the area and immediately understood Caslo's meaning: the centaurs opposite them had no iron weapons! Their equipment consisted of either stone or wood, and their armor was merely finely tanned leather! He hadn't noticed this during the chaotic battle. Different weapons have different effects on the transmission of battle aura; weapons made of rare metals are definitely better than those made of steel, and the Holy Knights' fine steel equipment far surpassed the centaurs' equipment, which was even inferior to that of the Lagrange militia! If it weren't for their superior equipment, Roland and his group might not have been able to hold their own against the centaurs.

"Caslo! Ride the dragon!" Roland surged his battle aura, then his face paled instantly. He had already consumed more than half of his battle aura! The ordinary knights' battle aura should be almost depleted! Another wave of centaur javelins would definitely result in casualties!

"Yes, sir!" Caslo's lips twitched as he watched the centaur pull out another wooden spear from its horse. Was this ever going to end? Did it think it was so great to have two extra legs?

Although the weapons and equipment of the centaurs are far inferior to those of the Holy Knights, they can carry more than ten powerful javelins by virtue of their own weight capacity... The wooden javelins in the hands of the centaurs are no less lethal than the metal javelins!
"Woo~ woo~ woo~" A melodious flute sound rang out, and a spatial gate was torn open in the void, from which Kaldor's slender dragon body shot out...

"Dragon! Evil dragon!" The centaur, who had just raised his javelin again, was suddenly filled with panic. The silhouette of Kaldor with four legs and two wings in the sky did indeed resemble a dragon, and a long dragon roar resounded through the sky!
"Go! Retreat! Dragon Knights!" The centaur leader was now filled with regret. Who would have thought that among these knights was a dragon knight known as the destroyer of city-states? If he had known there were dragon knights, he would have turned and run away with his men without stopping... "Roar!" A blue dragon breath swept down and spewed out into the forest where the centaurs were retreating.

"Hiss!" The agile centaurs felt the stinging dragon breath and neighed as they quickly turned around. Terrifying wind blades grazed several centaurs and disappeared into the forest in front of them. The terrifying dragon breath exploded instantly, and wisps of wind element swept around. Countless centaurs had their leather armor torn and their skin ripped apart by the aftershocks of the wind blades, and their skin was instantly stained red with blood!

"Kill!" Roland shouted, raising his arm. Now was the perfect time to strike a fallen enemy. Even a novice could defeat a master with a flurry of punches, let alone a knight wielding a lance.
"My people! Let's fight them!" With the forest so close, but the ravines carved by the dragon's breath blocking their escape, the centaur leader, filled with grief and despair, turned and charged at Roland with his spear. The anger, despair, and sorrow in his eyes were almost tangible.

"You're courting death!" Seeing that the centaur leader had broken away from the centaur herd and left the range of the same-fate skill, Roland's lips curled into a cold smile, and the sharp Dragon Slayer Sword appeared in his hand.

"Slash!" A long blade of battle aura extended from the Dragon Slayer Sword, slicing through the wooden spear in his hand in a single strike. Seizing the opportunity, Roland pressed his advantage, swinging the Dragon Slayer Sword again, ready to finish off the stubborn centaur in one blow...

"Bang!" A terrifying force came from the tiger's mouth, and the tiger's mouth wrapped in the gauntlet was instantly torn apart. Roland frowned and had no choice but to let go of the Dragon Slayer Sword in his hand. He clearly felt that if he forced his way to hold the Dragon Slayer Sword, the terrifying tearing force could completely tear off his shoulder.

"Who!" Roland exclaimed in shock. He had clearly seen an ordinary feathered arrow deflect his Dragon Slayer Sword, while someone with such power...

"Vanville! What are you doing?" Roland roared as he saw the rider charging towards him, never expecting the attack to come from behind! And it was none other than Vanville, the grassland elf lord who had fought alongside him and shared life and death with him!

"Thump!" Several knights rushed forward, thrusting their lances at the charging centaur leader. The centaur leader, displaying great prowess, swung his arms and raised his forelegs, dodging the incoming lances with his bare hands before wrestling with the knights.

"King Roland! Don't hurt them!" His voice preceded his arrival. Verway roared at the top of his lungs.

With a "whoosh," Roland placed the Dragon Slayer Sword back against the neck of the centaur leader, who was being held captive by several knights, and said coldly, "Give me a reason not to kill them!"

"Boom!" Caslo descended from the sky on his dragon, subtly intimidating the restless centaurs.

"They are centaurs! Allies of the grassland elves!" Verway said breathlessly as he rode up at full gallop.

"Does your allies think they can occupy my territory and harm my people at will?" Roland retorted, pressing his sword down slightly, blood trickling from the centaur leader's neck.

"There might be some misunderstanding here!" Verway quickly advised, fearing that Roland might accidentally dislocate the centaur's head with a single forceful movement.

"Misunderstanding? Tell me! I'm listening!" Roland's expression was unfriendly. He almost punched this dog out of its head. The Holy Knights almost suffered heavy casualties, and you're telling me it's a misunderstanding?
