Chapter 248 Battle of the West Gate
Chapter 248 Battle of the West Gate
"Damn it! How could this be! This is a completely different creature from the underwater watchers I know!" Roland helplessly tugged at his hair, his eyes filled with anger.
"It's too tough!" Caslo shook his head helplessly. After all, the lake water greatly interfered with the wind dragon's breath, otherwise it would have been a hot plate squid.
"We need to find a way to deal with it! It's not good for us to have such a big guy squatting at the door," Omske said loudly, rubbing his stiff neck.
"Is there anything we can do to help?" Bahrain asked earnestly.
"Help? Oh my god! Keeping your soldiers away from the lake and not causing us any trouble is the biggest help we can give... We had no intention of making enemies of this guy!" Roland shook his head.
"Uh, I'm sorry!" Bahrain said apologetically, after all, it was his soldiers who had lured this thing out.
"If Your Highness really can't handle it, I'll fight it in close combat. You can have the Smurfs provide dragon language magic assistance," Caslo said to Roland after thinking for a moment.
“It’s not time for you to take risks yet…” Roland refused the suggestion.
“No, no, no, we don’t have time to be dragged here by this guy. Its thick dragon scales are something it can’t budge! We just need to get it out of the water! Even a strong wind dragon can do that! After all, we can’t let it stay in the water and attack us forever. Although we can cut off its tentacles, that’s not enough to kill it!” Caslo analyzed.
"How confident are you?" Roland was intrigued, after all, he didn't want to waste time with the underwater monitor.
"Seven or eight out of ten! Even if it doesn't work out, I can guarantee I'll get out unscathed!" Caslo understood Roland's concerns and immediately reassured him.
"It's not low, let's give it a try!" Roland reluctantly decided to try anything, even if it seemed hopeless.
"Get the soldiers away from the lake! Lordaeron Rangers, go to the lake and make some noise to distract that guy!" Caslo commanded.
"Retract your dragon might, Kaldor!" Caslo commanded loudly, patting the dragon's back. Instantly, the chilling pressure vanished without a trace.
"Omske! I need your help! Help me trap it in a bit!" Caslo, fearing it might not be safe, called on Omske to help.
“No problem, I’ll do my best!” Omsk drew a javelin and weighed it in his hand.
"Your Excellency has arrived!" Several Lordaeron rangers rushed back in a panic, looking as if they wished they had two more legs.
"Boom!" Several thick tentacles broke through the water's surface and swiftly swarmed towards them, demonstrating the incredibly low intelligence of these underwater monitors! How much time had passed? A prime example of someone who never learns from a mistake!
“Omsk!” Caslo shouted.
"Whoosh~" Before Caslo could finish speaking, two javelins ripped through the air and pinned the two tentacles firmly to the ground. Omsk had already made his move!
"Kaldor! Go! Drag it out for me!" Caslo slapped the dragon's head and leaped off the saddle. After all, it would be too much for a human to join the melee between two behemoths.
"Roar!" With an angry roar, Kaldor plunged into the lake, quickly grabbing a thick tentacle and dragging it frantically. Its rapidly flapping wings churned the Mirror Lake, sending mud and rocks flying everywhere. The underwater watcher, not to be outdone, frantically coiled its thick tentacle around the dragon's body, pulling Kaldor relentlessly towards deeper water. "What the hell? This thing can actually wrestle with a dragon in the water?" Roland exclaimed in shock.
"Where did you find this old codger? This guy has been alive for ages! He can even fight dragons hand-to-hand!" the Smurf exclaimed in amazement.
"Don't just stand by and watch! Help me out! Aren't you a dragon elementalist?" Roland exclaimed, shocked by the scene of gods fighting in the distance.
"Sigh... what's the rush? It can't beat this wind dragon! It's only a matter of time before it loses! You really don't think it can fight against a dragon, do you? What makes you think it can? Just because it's lived longer? At most, it's just more durable." The Smurf watched the two behemoths' fist-to-fist fight, her tail wagging so excitedly it almost left a blur. After all, she rarely had such a thrilling duel to watch.
"Grandma, stop watching the show! We still need to deal with that fire demon underground! We don't have time to waste here!" Roland said to the "old man" who was watching the show, covering his face.
"Oh... alright! Water element stripping!" Only when the serious business was brought up did the Smurf reluctantly turn his gaze away and begin to exert his strength.
After the Smurf unleashed a skill, Kaldor immediately dragged the Water Watcher out of the water. Its tens of meters long body and twisting wrists were enough to make anyone's scalp tingle.
"Alright, that's over. Now it's up to that wind dragon. Anyway, I'm not going to do something as barbaric and rude as hand-to-hand combat!" The Smurf proudly raised her head.
"Wow! That's incredibly effective!" Roland's eyes widened in surprise. The balance between the two giant beasts, which had been evenly matched, was broken in an instant.
"That thing doesn't have as much control over the water element as I do. If my control over the water element is first-order, then that thing is second-order. The water element will obey my commands first, so without the water element, it's nothing!" The Smurf explained to himself, as if he could see Roland's puzzled expression.
"Impressive!" Roland's evaluation of the elf dragon rose a notch. As expected of a dragon species known as the Dragon Elementalist and the Dragon Machine Gun, its mastery of the elements was simply divine.
"Roar!" With a deafening dragon roar, the battle was decided. The water monitors dragged onto land were no different from squid on a chopping board. Kaldor was raising his dragon claws, which were imbued with wind elemental blades, to make octopus sashimi on the spot. One piece of octopus roll after another flew in all directions as the enraged dragon angrily tore apart the remains of those who dared to challenge its might.
"Caslo! Talk to your dragon! That's enough! Stop spoiling people's appetite!" Seeing Cardololan so engrossed in dismembering his opponent, he couldn't hold back any longer. The scene was already at the level of being banned from broadcast. If it continued, it would affect everyone's mental and physical health.
"Hey! Buddy! Stop! It's dead!" Caslo, the underwater watchman, rushed over after seeing the gruesome death.
"By Turin! I can't imagine what he'll look like when he's mad! He's a dragon even more powerful than Smaug!" Balin looked at the blood-soaked Kaldor with awe, his eyes filled with trepidation. He had witnessed the Smaug Rebellion firsthand and knew all too well how terrifying the destructive power of dragons could be.
“Smaug? Heh! That’s just a motley dragon with mixed bloodlines! Alright, let’s continue looking for the entrance!” Roland shook his head with a smile. Although Smaug was powerful, his bloodline determined that his potential was destined to be limited. Compared to pure-blooded dragons, he was simply trash.
"If we still can't find it, we'll just have to try our luck tonight!" Balin sighed. The dwarves, having been away from their homeland for so long, had forgotten the exact location of the secret door.
My family is having a terrible cough, and they're even spitting blood...
