Chapter 271 The War of Natural Disasters

Chapter 271 The War of Natural Disasters (Part 3)

"Die, you scum!" The azure dragon breath raged against the fire demon's body, and the compressed wind blades mixed in with it cut the fire demon's flesh and tore it open, and crimson blood flowed, but this did not cause any serious damage.

"Crack!" A deep, bone-revealing whip mark appeared on Kaldor's back as the Balrog lashed out with his flaming whip, venting his fury!

The two calamity-level behemoths, who had been fighting for a long time, still showed no signs of fatigue... Their eyes were bloodshot, they fought recklessly, their every move was deadly, and they only wanted to kill each other!
"Damn it!" Omske leaned on his sword and retreated. He was utterly exhausted. The Balrog's massive size rendered his attacks as ineffective as tickling. As a hero, Omske's abilities were more suited to group combat. While his powerful single-target attacks were effective in open plains or forests, in the depths of Moria… he feared causing a collapse! After all, the Judgment's attack was three-dimensional! If Omske were to unleash the full power of Light and Shadow Judgment, its force would undoubtedly be enough to rip Moria's skull off without hesitation!

"Step back, Omsk!" Roland led Lagrange's soldiers back to a distance and addressed Omsk.

It was clear that Omsk had not gained the upper hand in the struggle against the Balrog. Although he had the ability to kill the Balrog, this Balrog was too cautious! Omsk was severely restricted by it, and unable to get close, Omsk could not threaten the Balrog with his ranged energy attacks alone.

“Your Highness, it’s too troublesome!” Omske apologized.

"Take a rest. It's not your fault. After all, you're a survivor of the War of Wrath! Anyone who survives must have some skills!" Roland shook his head with a complicated expression. His two strongest fighters were either exhausted or seriously injured. Only Caslo and his dragon Kaldo were still holding on. It was only through the combination of Caslo's flanking attacks and Kaldo's head-on confrontation that they managed to fight the Balrog to a standstill.

"Can we... win?" For the first time, Roland regretted his decision. Well, given the system's nature, any mission that rewarded a Dragon Rider was definitely a dangerous trap. He had naively thought it would be easy... Watching "Gan Tofu" slaughter the Flame Demons, he thought he could do the same... But he was terribly wrong!
“Even if we are defeated, we can protect ourselves!” Omske shook his head and said.

"Don't be fooled by their miserable state; the only one truly seriously injured is your elven dragon. Their wounds are merely superficial!" Omske sighed. The terrifying regenerative abilities of the Cataclysmic-level magical beasts granted them exceptionally long combat endurance, so even though the two Cataclysmic-level beasts were fighting tooth and nail, they were still not severely injured...

"boom!"

As they spoke, the Balrog had already grabbed the Storm Dragon by the neck and slammed it violently into the mountainside. Large and small rocks tumbled down and shattered into pieces...

"Damn it! You'll pay for this!" A cryptic dragon's voice echoed in the Flame Demon's ears, followed by a deafening blue shockwave that sent the Flame Demon staggering backward...

"Ow!"

Suddenly, several flashes of cold light appeared! The Flame Demon let out a shrill scream. It turned out that several royal guards had taken the opportunity to draw their javelins and deliver a vicious blow to the Flame Demon! The battle aura flames attached to the javelins quickly erupted within the Flame Demon's body! Although it didn't cause much damage, the intense pain still made the Flame Demon's body stiffen.

"Bang!" Seizing the opportunity, Kaldor lunged forward, sending the Balrog flying with a savage dragon charge, before opening his blood-red maw and biting down hard on the Balrog's neck.

"Tear!"

"Agh!" With a painful growl from the Balrog, Kaldor's head was actually ripped off its own neck! Two deep wounds gushed forth a torrent of blood!

"Pah!" Kaldo, who had retreated, spat out the blood in his mouth with disdain, his killing intent growing stronger.

"You! I'll kill you! Do you think dragons can do whatever they want?" The Balrog angrily froze the wound on its neck with flames. At that moment, it truly felt the fear of death! If it hadn't torn off Kaldor's abyssal maw in time, its neck might have been bitten in two by the dragon! "Hiss!" Roland's scalp tingled at the sight of the blood-soaked Balrog. Even the aftershocks of these gods fighting terrified Roland, let alone Caslo, who was roaming and attacking on the battlefield.

At this moment, Caslo was frantically dodging the Balrog's attacks while leaving wounds on the Balrog's body! The sharp longsword had already left many marks on the Balrog's skin.

"Kardor! Its hide is too thick! I can't kill it!" Caslo communicated with his dragon in his mind.

"Damn it! This guy already has Stone Skin Armor and Lava Armor!" Kaldor roared in fury. These two layers of armor covering the Balrog's body were its strongest defensive measures! Even dragons couldn't do anything about it...

"How did you skin him alive?" Kaldo asked, dodging a slap that came his way.

"A powerful attack! It exceeds its capacity to withstand it!" Kaldo said while attacking the fire demon.

"???" Caslo's eyes widened. If he had a way to break through the Flame Demon's defenses, why would he be asking you?
"Let's stall it for now! We can only try to wear it down! If things don't work out, I'll cover the Imperial army's retreat!" Kaldor said helplessly.

"Try to find a way to kill it! We need the wealth here!" Caslo weaved between the fire demon and the dragon.

"I'll do my best!" After agreeing, Kaldor once again engaged the Balrog in battle.

……

"They're too close! We can't attack!" The rangers spread their hands to Roland as they watched the two enormous creatures wrestling and tumbling on the ground.

"Damn it! How could this happen!" Roland angrily slammed his fist into the ruins.

"King Roland! Perhaps we should retreat first!" Balin walked over with a worried expression. Faced with such a behemoth as the Balrog, the dwarves were completely helpless!

"Where are your black arrows?" Omske suddenly had a flash of inspiration; he thought of the dwarves' weapon against the giant beasts!
"Black Arrows? Dragon Hunters? Maybe they'll be in Massabur Hall!" Balin frowned. He couldn't be sure if these things even existed, after all, so many years had passed! Apart from the Black Arrows hidden in the secret armory, the others had long been wiped out by the orcs!
"Your Highness! Take your men and Lord Balin and go look for them! Come back as soon as possible! I'll go hold off the Balrog!" After resting for a while, Omsk drew his longsword and said to Roland. Now, only the dwarves' black arrows could provide them with support; other weapons were simply ineffective against the Balrog.

"Was the Black Arrow effective? The dwarves definitely tried it back then! But the Balrog is clearly not dead!" Roland had some doubts about this.

“We don’t need to kill it with black arrows! Neither I nor your dragon riders are capable of ending it! All we need is an opportunity! An opportunity for the Balrog to show a weakness!” Omske’s pupils gleamed with unwavering determination.

"Wait for me!" Roland patted Omske on the shoulder and quickly turned away.
