Chapter 551 Undead Anti-Aircraft Team!
Chapter 551 Undead Anti-Aircraft Team!
At the northern foot of the gray mountains.
“Your Majesty Caslo, you seem quite agitated?” Thranduil walked over gracefully.
“My kingdom is under invasion! My king is in danger at any moment!” Kaslow glanced at Thranduil, thinking, “So you elves and dwarves can talk without knowing the pain, your capital isn’t even under siege.”
"Don't worry, I know King Roland! He'll be fine!" Thorin immediately became a Roland fanboy. After all, in Thorin's eyes, he was laughing at the joke, not the person. Roland was a true man! This man always stepped forward in times of great trouble in the North, and he was incredibly resourceful, always managing to turn danger into safety on his own! So Thorin had complete confidence in Roland!
"..." Caslo's lips twitched. Well, this guy is more confident than I am. If I didn't know better, I would think Roland is your king. I, a dragon knight, am not confident at all.
"Your Majesty, someone is looking for you!" an elf said to Caslo as he entered the tent, patting his chest. The elf then lifted the curtain for the visitor.
"Your Majesty!"
"Holin? How is Your Highness?" Caslo asked, raising an eyebrow and beaming with delight.
“Of course, Swiftstream City is fine, but the situation at Lulong Fortress is not ideal. Our air knights cannot get close there, and the Ringwraiths have sealed off the airspace!” Hollin shook his head.
"You've come here with a new mission, haven't you?" Caslo, being a very clever man, immediately guessed Holin's intentions. After all, when Stream City was attacked, Roland didn't send anyone to find him. Instead, after he was held up by the Ringwraiths, Roland left him here to assist the Allied Forces. This time, the fact that Roland sent someone to find him directly meant that there must be something big going on.
“Yes, Your Majesty, the King is unwilling to tolerate the appearance of orcs on his territory! It is a desecration of the late Emperor and the Dragon God!” Holin gave a knightly salute.
"Hmm... I understand! I will attack in dragon rider form! I swear I will not return until the orcs are defeated!" Caslo nodded. Although it was risky for him to charge into the orc army alone, a subject must die for his sovereign! He had no choice but to obey the king's decree!
"Uh, Your Majesty, you've misunderstood!" Hollin was both amused and exasperated. He had misunderstood Roland. Roland cherished his dragon knights so much! How could he possibly let them go for free? To charge a whole orc army alone... Roland must have been out of his mind to make such a decision.
"The reinforcements from Los Santo Niel and those from Lion Keep have arrived. His Highness's intention is to remove the obstacles at the gate and resume production. Farming can no longer be delayed!" Hollin said solemnly.
“I understand!” Caslo nodded.
“I’m sorry, Your Highness Thorin, Your Highness Thranduil, I cannot stay here to help you.” Caslo turned to bid farewell to the high-ranking allied officials.
"Take care, and give my regards to Prince Roland!" Thranduil nodded.
"Please convey the dwarves' blessing to King Roland!" Thorin bowed even more respectfully.
“I will!” Caslo smiled.
Stepping out of the tent and watching Holin lead the griffin, Caslo flicked his dragon flute, summoning his mount, Kaldor. Kaldor's blue scales were now covered in fine scratches, crisscrossing wounds crisscrossing his body. The dragon, once a frontline warrior, now exuded a more ferocious and cruel aura. "..." Holin frowned. The storm dragons he remembered were noble and elegant, not this thuggish, vicious creature. It was clear how much the battle with the undead had changed this dragon...
"Those undead..." Hollin finally couldn't help but ask.
“Hmm, a bunch of scum who desecrate corpses and souls! The situation in the North isn’t much better than in the South!” Caslo seemed to see the surprise in Hollin’s eyes.
“Even the noble dragon knights are just pawns in war, only we have to pay a higher price to sacrifice!” Caslo shook his head. When a full-scale war begins, everyone needs to serve the war effort, even the noble sixth-tier professionals and dragon knights. When the stakes are high enough, nothing is off-limits.
“Those undead can’t kill the dragon knight, but they can corrupt me…” Caslo’s voice was hollow, which sent chills down Hollin’s spine.
"Pfft!" Caslo couldn't help but laugh out loud, amused by Hollin's wary expression. He knew Hollin had probably misunderstood; the "contamination" he was referring to wasn't assimilation, but rather the negative emotions of the undead would cling to him during attacks, inflicting debuffs. Trying to infect him? Forget those lowly undead, even dragon liches, bone dragons, and corpse dragons couldn't do it. Dragon knights and dragons at the pinnacle of their life forms wouldn't be assimilated or defiled by these lower-level life forms—of course, that might change after death…
"Let's go! His Highness should still be waiting for us!" Caslo didn't explain anything, nor did he bother to.
……
"Revenge!" A hunched figure coughed violently a few times before slamming the pottery jar in his hand to the ground, roaring as he trembled all over.
"My sweethearts...they all deserve to die! They all deserve to die! I'll skewer them like pigs on a rack of splinters!"
"Your choice is wise, Chief! My master sent me with a gift for you, I hope you will like it... Hehehe!" A chilling laugh came from the tent.
“Very well, the tribe’s warriors will set off immediately!” The hunched figure shook and said coldly, behind him was a battle flag painted with ferocious teeth!
……
"Alright, His Majesty Caslo is gone!" Bard shrugged.
"The war has come full circle!" Thranduil sighed. Although he knew that Caslo would not stay for long, everyone still missed him terribly after he left. After all, you would feel safe with a dragon flying in the sky!
"The Dragonhawk Knights' deterrent effect is too weak!" Thorin rubbed his temples in pain, his face scrunched up like a muggle.
When the first dragonhawk was pulled down from the sky by the Abomination, the entire Northern Alliance knew that the dwarven dragonhawk riders were unreliable. After all, aerial fire support that could "crash" at any moment was unnecessary... If it weren't for the quick thinking of the other dragonhawk riders, the already scarce dragonhawks in Middle-earth would have suffered even greater losses. In this way, the rider on that dragonhawk's back had all died heroically. Just imagine what it looked like when a pumpkin fell from the sky...
"Don't count on the dragonhawks, those guys are hard countered by the abominations!" Bard covered his face. He was the one who called for dragonhawk riders' support back then. He watched with his own eyes as those huge abominations swung their chains and dragged that poor child down from the sky. After this incident, the allied forces knew that the undead army had anti-aircraft firepower, and all the dragonhawk riders would spontaneously avoid the undead army and only attack small groups of lone undead.
(The dragon eagles are tough and thick-skinned, so it's not a problem. The dwarves on their backs can't take it. The abominations can only restrict the dragon eagles' movements. When the dragon eagles are enraged, they can still kill them one by one with their breath. But the chubby guys on their backs are no match for them. If they fall off, they're done for. Even if they don't die from the fall, they'll be overwhelmed by the undead army. Dwarves aren't like dragon eagles that can just flap their wings and fly away...)
