Chapter 769 The Last Legacy

"The Lord... of the Dead?" Weiss was a little confused, and Willy's memory couldn't provide him with this information, so Weiss didn't know what to think for a moment.

"I come from the White Mountains, and I was once the king of the mountains there... but later... Alas!" The spirit of the dead looked at Weiss, sighed, and did not continue speaking.

In 3320 of the Second Age, the Kingdom of Gondor was established. In Erech there is still a black stone, which is said to have been brought by Isildur from Númenor. It is located on a hill, and the King of the Mountain swore allegiance to Isildur at the beginning of the establishment of the Kingdom of Gondor.

However, in 3429 of the Second Age, when Sauron attacked Gondor, Isildur summoned the Mountain People to fulfill their oath, but they refused, for they had worshiped Sauron in the Dark Ages. So Isildur cursed them:

"You will never rest until the day you fulfill your oath."

The Men of the mountains fled from the wrath of Isildur, and feared not to fight for Sauron. They hid in the secret places of the mountains, and went not forth with any other, but languished in the wilderness. And the Terror of the Unsleeping Dead came over Erech, and over all places where that people had roamed.

After the death of this group of mountain people, they could not rest in peace because of the curse of Isildur, King of Gondor, so they gathered in the mountains to form the Trail of the Dead, and wandered there to block the living from entering.

The prophet Maubeth once said during the reign of Arvedui, the last king of Arthedain:

"A shadow has fallen upon the land, and wings of darkness have spread westward. The towers of the watch tremble, and the end is drawing near to the tombs of the kings. The dead in the mountains awaken, and the hour of the promise-breakers has come: they will rise again, and return to the Black Stone of Erech, and hear the trumpets echoing from the hills. Whose trumpet is it, who is it in the bleak light?

To awaken the forgotten? The heir of the oath. He will come from the north, with a mission: only he will pass through the forbidden gate and walk the path of the dead.

Of course, Roland could only say that this was nonsense. After all, as the last descendant of the King of Gondor, no one except Aragorn could make these undead souls fulfill their promise.

"..." After listening to the Heroic Spirit's story, Weiss felt his mouth twitch. What a mess, a curse bound your entire clan to that gutter? Even Weiss's eyes when looking at the Heroic Spirit were wrong.

"Thank you for your help, but I don't know why, senior..." Weiss's eyes were a little wary. Where does pie in the sky fall from the sky in Middle-earth? You know, things falling from the sky may not be pie, but may be forbidden spells! Weiss certainly wouldn't trust this heroic spirit who appeared out of nowhere, but after all, he saved him, so Weiss was embarrassed to drive him away. But Weiss still didn't understand why this heroic spirit found him. If he guessed correctly, the White Mountains were a million miles away from here, right?

"Haha, you! As cautious as that guy Senar!" A smile uglier than crying appeared on the old face of the hero.

"Senar?" Those three words struck deep into Weiss's soul like a thunderbolt, making Weiss feel dazed.

"Huh~" When Weiss was stunned, the heroic spirit of the King of the Mountain suddenly appeared in front of Weiss, and pointed his index finger directly at Weiss's forehead.

"!" Weiss's soul was surging, and he was about to dodge, but his body could not keep up with his thoughts. He could only watch as the heroic spirit's hand touched his forehead.

"..." Weiss felt dizzy and his soul seemed to be sucked into a mysterious space. As his eyes went dark and bright again, he appeared in a vast expanse of pure white space.

"This is..." Weiss said in a panic.

"Child." The heroic spirit of the King of the Mountains appeared beside him without him noticing.

"Where is this? Where did you take me?" Weiss was shocked. You know, there is dimensional exile magic in Middle-earth. If Weiss is really exiled with his current ability, Roland can only find a silver dragon to find him in the void. As Weiss panicked, the whole space shook violently. It seemed that there were gusts of invisible strong wind in the space, and the whole space looked shaky.

"Senar, your heir is not good enough!" The King of the Mountain said jokingly.

"Be quiet, little guy!" Then a warm and familiar voice sounded in Weiss's ears.

"Senior Ser...Nar? You don't..." Weiss turned his head in shock. Sernar, dressed in a knight's uniform, was looking at him with a smile on his face. At this moment, he looked like a young human, and he no longer had the ferocious look of his Ringwraith days.

"Thank you for allowing me to die as a human again." Senar shook his head and interrupted Weiss.

"Then what are you doing..." Weiss was a little confused. He stared at Senar's figure in a daze, his mind going blank.

"This is your spiritual world, your soul space. To put it bluntly, I'm just a ghost staying here. Since you and I can meet each other, it means you have successfully met the king of the mountain." Senar's voice was gentle and peaceful.

"The fact is that I found him..." The King of the Mountain shrugged.

"Hahaha! Don't be angry, little dragon. Look, I found a good knight for you. Don't be so sullen." Senar ignored the King of the Mountain and smiled at the Void instead.

"You are not welcome here! This is my home!" A magnificent contract emerged, and Willy flew out with a dragon face on his arm, and said to Senar with an unhappy look on his face. Although he did not dislike Weiss, it did not mean that he liked Senar who forced the contract on him.

"Don't worry, don't worry. I'll be leaving soon!" Senar raised his hand to comfort Willy. Willy didn't force him. He saw Senar's current state. As a magic dragon, he would not lose face and fight with the ghost of a dead man.

"Time is running out, Lord Senar!" The King of the Mountain looked at Senar and whispered. He had forced Weiss to connect the two. With the strength of the King of the Mountain, he would not allow Senar's residual soul to stay for too long.

"Okay, let's make it short. I have high hopes for you, kid. The undead of the mountain people are now in your hands. You can command them to attack your enemies. This is my last legacy..." Senar pursed his lips and said suddenly with some sadness.

"Be kind to those poor people. They were abandoned by Gondor and Sauron. You should not let them cry anymore. If the world is at peace... let them rest in peace!" Sernar stared into Vess's eyes and said softly.

"Ah?" Weiss was stunned. Why did they hand the undead to him?

"Don't forget, you are also a Dunedain... It is not only the Son of Prophecy who can raise the holy sword and command the undead! There is also the knight holding my holy sword! I see the future in you... Maybe you are not the Son of Prophecy, but you still have a bright future. Go your own way! Go on! Go on with our hope and blessings!" Senar said solemnly.

"Please protect this child. I can no longer guard him. Protect him well. When he raises the holy sword and leads you to attack Mordor, that will be the day of your liberation!" Senar turned to the King of the Mountain and said.

"I understand, Lord Senar! I will protect him!" The King of the Mountain nodded. He never doubted Senar's words.
