Chapter 86 Irube, Immovable as a Mountain

Chapter 86 Irube, Immovable as a Mountain
"Kill all the dwarves! Let us drink their blood!" The orc high lord of the northern wasteland brandished his battle axe, which was as exaggerated as a door panel. Dark red bloodstains slid down the axe, which was stained with dwarven blood that had turned purple. As a fifth-tier warrior, he completely suppressed the high-end combat power of the dwarves.

Because the Irubor dwarves lost their homeland and wandered for many years, they did not have enough resources to cultivate their own high-end combat force. As a result, the dwarf king Thorin Oakenshield was only a third-tier berserker. King Dain of Ironhill was a little better off, at least he had the resources to build him up to a fourth-tier commander. It was precisely because Dain blocked the orc high lord that the entire defensive line was able to be stabilized.

"Damn it! We can't let this general keep killing like this! Every time he attacks the city, he causes dozens of dwarves to die!" Thorin glared resentfully at the orc high lord who was about to attack Irubor City again.

"I'll hold him off!" Dain dragged his injured body and carried his Crimson Blood Battle Axe to Thorin's side.

“My brother! You can’t fight anymore. You should be resting in bed instead of fighting with an axe in your hand! Believe me! The situation hasn’t deteriorated to the point where you, a wounded man, need to risk your life!” Thorin looked at his cousin.

"Kili! Fili! Take him down to rest!" Thorin said, turning his head.

"No! Thorin! You can't do this! I'm a dwarf just like you! We have to face our fate together!" The injured Dain was naturally unable to break free from the two brothers' large hands and was forcibly dragged off the walls of Irubor.

"Bard! I need you to stop it with me!" Thorin looked at Bard sincerely. Bard was a third-tier ranger, and with Thorin himself being a third-tier warrior, they could still hold their own against a fifth-tier orc high lord.

“Of course, we have no other choice, do we?” Bard silently watched the orc army outside Irubor.

“Sigh…” Bard sighed inwardly. The reason Irubor was still able to remain unmoved was because of its sufficient fighting strength. The three thousand dwarven warriors gave Thorin the confidence to defend the city. However, everyone underestimated the powerful ranged attack capabilities of this orcish force. Not only did they have an archer force of over five thousand men, but they also had several orcish wizards! The sharp-eyed Bard clearly spotted the figure of the brown-robed wizard… Although there weren't many professional archers among the orcish archers, and their shortbows were of poor quality and had limited range, their sheer numbers were still enough to effectively kill the dwarves on the walls of Irubor. By now, one-tenth of the dwarves had died from the orcish arrow rain. With five thousand arrows, there would always be a few lucky ones that could penetrate the gaps in the armor. It should be noted that although the dwarven armor was excellent, it still had gaps. It wasn't the one-piece plate armor like the Lagrange standard plate armor. If luck was on your side, even the orcish archers, who were not very skilled, could still inflict casualties on the dwarves.

"If we had more archers, we wouldn't be in such a passive position!" Bard looked at the ravaged outer walls of Irubor, which were riddled with crudely made orc arrows. It was clear how ruthless the orcs were. He was truly grateful that Saruman hadn't yet turned to the dark side and hadn't provided the orcs with better smelting technology, otherwise Irubor would have fallen long ago.

"Damn it! Crossbowmen! Shoot them hard!" Thorin Oakenshield roared. Although archers were few among the dwarves, they could use crossbows to retaliate against the orcs. A skilled dwarven craftsman could forge a steel hand crossbow in a day or two. The entire city of Irubor was currently holding off an attack by over ten thousand orcs with just over two thousand dwarves and three hundred Vale soldiers. Their only means of repelling the orc archers were three hundred crossbows and a hundred bows. As for why they weren't making more crossbows, it was simply because they'd run out of raw materials for crossbow strings…

"All I want to know right now is where the elves are?" Bard glanced westward. He didn't know how much longer Irubor could hold out. Without reinforcements, at the current rate of troop losses, Irubor would be left defenseless in a month or so...

“I’ve never trusted them! Now we’re surrounded! Where are they?” Thorin roared angrily.

Thorin is currently unaware that Borg has bypassed the Elven kingdom to attack Los Sannir. The southern forces are busy pursuing the Orcs and have no time to deal with the Lonely Mountain battlefield, as the Orcs can't do anything to Irubor for the time being. Of course, if Thorin knew about the Elven maneuver, he'd be lucky if he didn't curse Thranduil to death.

……

Thranduil, his hair disheveled, rode a moon stag at the head of the column, followed by rows of orderly elven troops. Roland and his men walked alongside Thranduil, but their armies trailed far behind the woodland elves. Eovia, after all, had no intention of letting the star elves bleed; the death of any of her people suffocated her. The Whitewings, having finished the Battle of Los Sannir, were also unable to launch an offensive. They were capable of supporting the attack, but in a direct confrontation, they could only hold out for a few minutes. Roland's cavalry closely followed the woodland elves, while two swift phalanxes flanked the star elves and Los Sannir soldiers.

Swiftflow Legion: 937 Swiftflow Infantry

Recruit 200 light infantrymen.

Lagrange Heavy Cavalry: 100 heavy cavalrymen

Population: 1026 (253 civilians who can be trained)
Assessment: The lonely king led his surviving people back to their homeland and built this city with high walls. The city has few inhabitants, but everything is developing in a positive direction. The city's military is strong enough to defend it, but it still cannot withstand the emerging darkness alone. The good news is that the city has finally welcomed its own city defense officer and political officer. Note: War has begun! The great king is showing his mettle! Swiftstream City has gained temporary peace! But the shadow still lingers in the north; this requires extra caution!
Abilities: 1. As the only territory of the Kingdom of Lagrange in Middle-earth, she will attract the remnants of Lagrange. The system will guide a wave of wandering Lagrange civilians to her territory every day, hoping that the lord can properly settle them.

2. Allow the recruitment of local civilians to train swift infantry.

During his leisure time, Roland sat on horseback and checked his current assets. When he saw that the Swiftflow Legion had dropped from four figures to three figures, he was heartbroken and his heart ached... It was too painful! The number of troops that had just broken through the two thousand mark had dropped back to around one thousand.

"Borg! You're dead meat! I said it!" A flash of murderous intent crossed Roland's eyes.
