From the first release of the work on July 2022, 7 to the present day, it has taken two and a half years and 1 million words, and the serialization of "The Northern Dynasty" has officially ended. I feel relieved, but also a little disappointed.

This is the third time I have completed a work on Qidian. Compared with the other two, "Northern Dynasty" has a more special meaning to me. It is not just a simple online writing, but also a dialogue and sedimentation with myself.

You should all know that before I started writing this book, I had a small failed transformation. Actually, it can’t be called a transformation. It was just that when I encountered adversity in life, I wanted to conceive a completely imaginary story, hoping to dispel the boredom and depression in life. Unfortunately, I overestimated my imagination, and was forced to return to the familiar field due to my livelihood.

Before writing Northern Dynasties, I was not very lucky. I encountered some accidents, and my life, work, and even my physical condition all encountered some setbacks. When I reached middle age, I thought I had a certain understanding and preparation for all aspects, but once I encountered an accident, I found that I felt more powerless, and my mood and state of mind also changed a lot.

Fortunately, in addition to the trivialities of life, I also have a creative space where I can temporarily escape from reality and find peace. I can transform the useless fantasies in daily life into an analysis and association of the encounters of people thousands of years ago. Compared with the ups and downs in history, personal misfortunes and annoyances become insignificant.

It is difficult to describe the details of many feelings through words, and only personal experience can give you some understanding. In the process of writing "Northern Dynasty", what I felt most was gratitude. I am grateful that I started such a side job out of boredom a few years ago. I am grateful to Qidian for providing such a platform for a nine-year-old boy who loves creation. I especially need to thank everyone for their continued support, which allowed me to obtain a sense of accomplishment while also obtaining a guarantee of life through my efforts.

Over the past two years, organizing materials, sorting out the context and conceiving the plot have taken up most of my energy, leaving me no time to indulge in too many negative emotions. My emotions have been able to stabilize and my mood has gradually become calmer.

Here, if there are book friends who have also encountered some adversity and setbacks, I also suggest that you don't complain about yourself, but keep yourself busy, even if you are still a little confused for a while, but keep busy, the right direction will always appear. Life will not force people to have no way out, and many times it is ourselves who trouble us. Truth is not for listening, but for doing.

Although it is just online writing, the author's own cognition, thinking and feelings are often mixed in during the writing process. The book "Northern Dynasty" has many shortcomings, and I often see book friends criticize it for being too smooth, unrealistic, and the protagonist is too positive and stereotyped, etc. These are all objective problems and shortcomings, and there is no quibble.

For me, it is probably because I hate twists and turns, adversity, and feel that life is too fragile, so when I am conceiving the plot, I am more resistant to thinking about elements such as setbacks and death. I use my not-so-bright brain to sort out a steadily upward path for the protagonist in the turbulent and ever-changing situation of the post-Three Kingdoms, and give a general description of the trend of the post-Three Kingdoms.

In short, the work has been completed, and it is up to you to praise or criticize. I am very grateful for your love. I also sincerely accept the criticism and guidance, and try to make some corrections in the subsequent writing. However, the writing of long online articles is too dependent on the author's creative habits, so many online articles, even some works by famous authors, are very homogeneous. I really envy those talented authors who are creative and energetic.

As for the extra chapters of the work, I don’t have any specific ideas or thoughts at the moment. I just finished the main text and my mind is a bit confused. And my reputation in this area has always been average. I haven’t written the extra chapters of the previous book "Tang Huang" yet, so I won’t promise you here.

Every time I finish a novel, I feel drained of energy, spirit, and knowledge. There is a cooling-off period, which may be long or short. I will also take a break for a while, especially to replenish my knowledge and improve my cognition.

Nowadays, there are more and more related knowledge popularization online. If you don’t learn and just output blindly, you will easily be exposed. People are not as easy to fool as before. The understanding of background knowledge is becoming more and more sufficient and detailed. During the writing process of this book, I met many book friends who gave me guidance on background knowledge. While thanking them, I also felt my own shortcomings. If I want to eat this bowl of rice in the future, I have to work harder.

Regarding the new book, I don’t have a specific idea yet, and it should still be a historical theme. I plan to take a break before the New Year and start the conception and writing of the new book after the Spring Festival. Once I have a specific idea for the theme, I will report to you here.
