Superman's Saiyan Brother

Chapter 1276 Untrustworthy and Shocking Remarks

"You've been hiding in this universe for so long, and Lucifer has never noticed? Judging from his reaction, he's never even seen you before?" Robert asked Jehovah with a puzzled look.

“He has indeed never seen me, or rather, I only exist in his memory, and even the version of me in his memory is false,” Jehovah nodded, speaking frankly.

"Because he is not a truly born being, but merely an image I retrieved from distant past memories, which I then gave life to."

"What?!" Lucifer, who was far away, exclaimed in surprise upon hearing Jehovah's words.

At this moment, Lucifer was somewhat unable to accept the change in his identity. He originally thought that he was a powerful survivor from before the birth of the multiverse, and that he was the Lord of Hell who once led a third of the angels in a great war against Jehovah.

But now, Lucifer's resolve has been somewhat broken.

Although, according to my memory, Lucifer, the Lord of Hell, was also created by Jehovah, he had a real record of victories!
And what does Lucifer have? His memories are false; he is merely a pawn created by Jehovah to test other forces in the multiverse.

The sense of loss was so great that it even surpassed the resentment of almost dying at Robert's hands.

Admittedly, Lucifer was not so faithful to Jehovah, and had done things that Jehovah had done.

Lucifer did create life before, and he also used those created lives as pawns and cannon fodder.

Putting aside other things, when Robert was fighting Lucifer in the Void, didn't Lucifer create countless fallen angels to be cannon fodder and die?

Life is full of double standards; there are things you can do to others, but things others do to you are intolerable.

“You are quite honest.” Robert looked at Jehovah with some surprise. He had not expected that Jehovah would not hide anything. Even with Lucifer here, Jehovah still told the truth.

"For beings of our level, what difference does it make whether we conceal it or not?" Jehovah slowly shook his head and said softly, "Besides, Lucifer was right about one thing before: we are not necessarily enemies..."

“Oh? How so?” Robert raised an eyebrow and asked, his gaze fixed on Jehovah.

“Initially, Lucifer did indeed set his sights on the opportunities in your universe and made a move, but didn’t Lucifer also receive the punishment he deserved?” Jehovah said with a smile.

“I can guarantee that Lucifer and I will never attack your universe again, including any universe under your protection.”

"Even if you don't believe in this Lucifer, I can directly transform his consciousness into the consciousness of your universe's Lucifer. Aren't you on good terms with him? Perhaps our relationship can be even better then."

"What do you want to do?!" Before Robert could react, Jehovah's words had even finished when Lucifer erupted in fury.

Lucifer was already resentful because he was a part of Jehovah's memory, and now that he heard Jehovah wanted to erase his memory, he was even more unable to accept it.

It is important to understand that each multiverse-level being is unique, and the being that ascends to the multiverse-level will replace the consciousness of all variants.

However, if this multiverse-level being eventually perishes, even if a new multiverse-level powerhouse is born from its variants, it will not be the same consciousness as the previous multiverse-level powerhouse, but rather a similar but completely different individual.

The difference between them is just as significant as the difference between the normal variants.

Therefore, no powerful being in the multiverse would accept their consciousness becoming another version of themselves. Sometimes, they would rather die than leave behind enough resources to return.

Otherwise, given the multiverse's many years of development and the existence of timelines before it, the number of multiverse-level powerhouses within this multiverse shouldn't be so small.

At least as Lucifer thought when he faced Robert, even if the DC Universe was defeated, there should still be a large number of multiverse-level powerhouses returning one after another.

Returning to Lucifer at this moment, his heart was engulfed in the flames of rage. Even during his previous battle with Robert, Lucifer's rage had not surged so fiercely.

"If the version of me in his memory can accomplish the feat of rebelling against him, why can't I?" A thought flashed through Lucifer's mind, as if it resonated with the variant Lucifer from the endless spacetime before.

"Since he's going to erase my consciousness anyway, rather than waiting for him to erase it, I might as well fight him directly! I refuse to believe that if that Hell Lord can succeed, I can't, after all, I have half of his power!"

With a "whoosh," once Lucifer's thoughts were clear, the combat power he displayed was even slightly stronger than when he dealt with Robert, which made Robert look at him with surprise.

Good grief, you weren't this energetic when fighting me, your enemy, but you suddenly become so fierce when fighting your old father? You're truly a filial son who's a bully at home but a coward at home!

"Boom!"

As Lucifer's energy surged, the rules and energy of the entire universe were also being controlled by him, and booming sounds echoed continuously, as if a collision had occurred between the underlying rules of the universe.

"Die!" Lucifer shouted, his figure suddenly appearing before Jehovah, countless rules and energies roaring and pressing down on Jehovah.

With a "whoosh," before these rules and energies could even strike Jehovah, Lucifer felt his consciousness become somewhat blurred, and the rules and energies within his body also weakened considerably.

Most importantly, Lucifer's connection with the current universe was instantly severed, meaning that Lucifer is no longer the master of this universe and has no connection with it whatsoever.

This means that Lucifer not only receives no benefit from the current universe, but is also oppressed by it. Robert is able to ignore the oppression of the current universe because he is powerful enough, but Lucifer is not powerful enough to ignore the oppression of a universe of the same level.

Moreover, the rules and power within Lucifer's body are constantly dissipating, and his strength is no less than when he was defeated by Robert. How can he withstand the current pressure of the universe?

“Sigh, that’s just how the child is. No matter how many consciousnesses he has, he’s always so disobedient,” Jehovah sighed, looking at Lucifer. “It’s like we’re born to be at odds. He’s clearly my favorite, yet he’s always going against me, and even going to Hell doesn’t bring him peace…”

As Jehovah’s words fell, Lucifer’s body stiffened instantly, and then his consciousness began to gradually dissipate until he was completely erased from the multiverse.

"What's this?" The next moment, Lucifer opened his eyes again. He looked around in confusion, and when he saw Robert, he was stunned. "Saiyan? What are you doing here? Wait! Jehovah?! What's going on?"

Yes, just as Jehovah said, he could easily replace Lucifer's consciousness. The current Lucifer's consciousness comes from the Robert universe, or rather, it is a continuation of that Lucifer's consciousness.

Moreover, it's clear that Lucifer from the Robert Universe has no respect for Jehovah whatsoever. Unlike Lucifer before him, he doesn't call Jehovah "God" or simply use "he" instead of his name. Instead, he directly calls him "Jehovah."

“It seems that Lucifer is not very obedient either!” Jehovah seemed to realize this and sighed again with some helplessness, like an old father seeing his child being disobedient.

“Oh?” Robert didn’t look at Lucifer’s pleading gaze, nor did he believe Jehovah’s current behavior. He just looked at Jehovah with a mocking smile and asked, “If he is Lucifer of our universe, then who is he?”

With a "whoosh!" sound, as Robert's voice fell, a figure materialized beside Robert, which was the image of Robert's Cosmic Lucifer.

Or rather, this is the life form formed from the imprint left by Lucifer in the Robert Universe. The consciousness created by Jehovah is merely a creation of Jehovah based on the image of Lucifer in the Robert Universe from the memories of the previous Lucifer.

They may appear exactly the same, even in terms of rules, energy, and style of action, but they are not the same consciousness.

"What is this?" The real Lucifer looked around in confusion. Compared to the fake Lucifer, who had been implanted with some memories, he was even more confused about the current situation.

"How did you find out?" Jehovah raised an eyebrow and asked Robert with some surprise.

"I will control everything in my universe. Do you think you can hide from me and take away Lucifer's mark from my universe?" Robert waved his hand, sending the real Lucifer back to his own universe, which could also be considered as sending him back to work to assist the Ancient One.

"Then why don't you just pretend? Pretend you don't know, and everyone can call a truce and live in peace. Wouldn't that be a good thing?" Jehovah said, looking at Robert with a sigh.

"Don't you understand the principle that too much rigidity leads to breakage? There are other options in life besides fighting. Can't we resolve this conflict in a better way?"

"Of course not. Now that you're causing trouble here, who can guarantee that what you said before was true?" Robert spread his hands, looking completely innocent.

"Besides, you don't have much credibility with me to begin with. Rather than trusting you, I'd rather just beat you into submission, or even completely eliminate ambitious people like you!"

"You barely managed to defeat Lucifer. I could have taken him down in an instant. Do you have the strength to fight me?" Jehovah's expression finally turned cold as he stared at Robert and asked in a deep voice.

"Heh." Robert scoffed at this. "What's so difficult about dealing with a life form you created? It would be a real joke if you couldn't handle Lucifer!"

"Do you still think you're some omniscient and omnipotent one God? You can't even do that in this home universe, so you certainly can't do it in the entire multiverse!"

"If you were truly omniscient and omnipotent, would we have had so many conversations? Would you have sent Lucifer as your pawn? The entire multiverse would have already become the shape you wanted it to be!"

“You’re right. I’ve never been omniscient or omnipotent. Even back in the DC Universe, I wasn’t omniscient or omnipotent,” Jehovah said with a touch of emotion, as if recalling something.

"Especially for some reason, perhaps too many people don't want to separate the American comic book universe, perhaps too many people can't distinguish between the DC universe and the Marvel universe, or perhaps the two universes themselves have many things in common, even similar rules and abilities..."

"In short, the two omnipotent universes grew closer and closer until they began to merge, collide, and conflict. From that moment on, I could no longer even achieve near-omniscience and omnipotence..."

"I originally thought that even if the two omnipotent universes really engaged in a great war, or even eventually merged together, I would still stand above all the gods, at the absolute pinnacle of authority, and possess even greater power than before."

"Because although my supreme authority has been divided, the fusion of the two omnipotent universes will make them even more powerful, and may even give rise to more rules, and their power will be correspondingly stronger..."

"I don't think our DC Universe will lose, especially when a variable appears in our universe, a special Superman, a Superman who has reached the highest level of idealism and stands shoulder to shoulder with me."

"But we still lost. We lost everything, and were even absorbed into this tiny multiverse. I didn't even leave behind a trace of authority!"

"If it weren't for the fact that I exist in both universes after the fusion, I might not even be able to awaken this little bit of true spiritual consciousness. Even if a multiverse-level Jehovah were to be born, it wouldn't be me..."

"Is Clark's potential that great? Could it be that he also retains consciousness?" Robert wasn't very interested in most of what Jehovah was saying, but he was still surprised that the special Superman from the past could reach the highest level.

Along with the surprise came worry. If there really was a multiverse-level superhuman, then Clark's consciousness might not be able to be preserved, which was definitely a situation Robert did not want to see.

"You've left, or rather, he should go home. He, like you, is an outsider. And the ultimate victor—you are all variables." Jehovah looked deeply at Robert and spoke with startling words. (End of Chapter)
