Chapter 72 Scholars of Faith

Chapter 72 Scholars of Faith

Parting the god Uranus, Hephaestus returned to the earth.

He gave the sky a last meaningful look, then turned and walked into the mountains.

Uranus is willing to wait, so let's wait.In the hidden war, of course, whoever wants to go will go, and it has nothing to do with him, Hephaestus.

As the god Uranus himself said, now is not the time when he ruled the earth.

But he knew that the times had changed, but he was still aloof, and he regarded everyone as a pawn in his heart.

It seems that in his eyes, everyone except himself can only be classified as miscellaneous gods.

Hephaestus couldn't be bothered to pay him any attention.Let him take his arrogance to join the war, to fight this hidden war that he provoked by himself, and to fight the goddess Gaia forever.

Hephaestus has had enough time to see how much advantage Uranus can take from his mother Gaia.

He walked to the depths of the mountains and started to prepare for another matter.

It's about faith.

Hephaestus once discussed with his mother Hera, but he refused to believe in face-to-face excuses, and Hera also agreed.

Now it seems that it is just a face-to-face promise.

The "sun" he stayed at the "border" still has a steady stream of beliefs recorded, and the direction of beliefs has become more clear.

"The tireless fire", "the witness and recorder of history", "the god who is far from the commonplace", "the generous god who gives choice", these words can enter his ears as long as he listens carefully.

Hephaestus himself is not sure whether this incident was done by his mother Hera alone or by Zeus's tacit consent. The relationship between the two of them is too close, and it is often the husband and wife who are in unison.

But there is one thing that Hephaestus can be sure of. For the time being, he doesn't want to cooperate with any inclined gods, doesn't want to be pulled into their chariot, and then becomes the object of being targeted and feared by others in a daze.

So, take it as what Zeus meant.

Wanting to understand this, Hephaestus, who was walking on the mountain road, snorted coldly.

It's because my temperament is too peaceful, and it's easy for people to figure out the bottom line.

Because of this, those people thought they had seen themselves clearly, so the solicitation and temptation came wave after wave.

It's time to make an example of others and teach these people a lesson.

Who should I find?Or, to completely wipe out Anser Church?
If it is not necessary, Hephaestus is not willing to involve the grievances between gods on mortals.

But the will of mortals is sometimes very decisive. Sometimes they would rather offend a god than change their beliefs.

He decided to go and have a look first, and by the way, look for some unlucky guy who could use it to make a statement.

……

For the gods, human beings living on the earth have become a scarce commodity.

This is because faith is valued by the gods.

Powerful gods can eat meat. They occupy the fertile plains, gather a large number of humans to establish city-states, and formulate rules for them to maintain their numbers.Headed by the Gods of Olympus, represented by Zeus.

Weak gods can only drink soup. They carefully survived on the fringes of these city-states and spread their beliefs.

Regardless of whether it is a god or a human being, they all follow blindly, and only a small number of people have a high vision.

The later gods have obviously missed the best time, but if they don't do it, there is really nothing.

Thanks to the mountain god Uriah's departure into chaos, these later weak gods finally had a place where they could support their churches.

They took root in the deep mountains and old forests, allowing their believers to have as little contact with the churches of the great gods as possible.

Even so, the war of faith has gradually emerged.

The great gods who have gained more faith want to get more, the gods who have not entered the field want to enter the field, and the gods caught in the middle also want to develop.

Each has its own appeals, and conflicts and disturbances have increased.

Hephaestus heard that many churches had clashed recently because of preaching, and even some fiery gods ended up fighting in person.

Fortunately, the cake of belief has not been divided yet, and the powerful gods naturally have no reason to make a move, otherwise the situation will be turned upside down.

Just like the current Hephaestus, if he wants to make an example of others, he may break this balance.

In order to choose a suitable target for destruction, he deliberately walked slowly on the mountain road.

The tentacles of the gods have reached here, so he encountered many villages and churches along the way.The gods behind these churches are not well-known, and most of them are goddesses related to springs and deep forests. The fight was quite intense.

After another village, a young man suddenly appeared in front of him.The young man was bare-chested, with a sweat towel over his shoulders.

He was dragging a simple cart made of wood. Because it was an uphill road, the two wheels of the cart made the young man exert all his strength.

There was goods on the cart, which was tightly covered by a black cloth.

Perhaps tired, the young man stopped by the side of the road.

He jumped onto the cart and sat there, wiped his sweat with the sweat towel on his shoulders, took out dry food from under the black cloth and gnawed on it, taking a sip of water from time to time.

He greeted Hephaestus behind him from a long distance away.

"Friend, come here to eat something before leaving."

Hephaestus didn't care about him, but he didn't expect him to see himself.

This happens only to devout believers.Believers dedicate their faith to the gods they belong to, and naturally the connection with the gods becomes deeper.

He stepped forward and asked knowingly.

"Which god are you a believer in? Where are you going?"

The young man laughed. "My friend, you are so strange. How do you know that I am not an unbelievers?"

He patted the vacant seat on the scooter: "Please sit down, it's rare to meet, and please have something to eat before going on the road."

As he spoke, he took a piece of sesame cake from under the black cloth and handed it to Hephaestus.

Hephaestus took it.

Perhaps because of having a companion, the young people's chatterbox also opened up: "I am a believer in Anser, and I will go to the temple of Anser to worship him."

"Friend, what about you?"

Hephaestus replied: "I am a scholar. Come to examine the churches here and record their history."

Young man: "Oh, that's nice. You must be rich."

Hephaestus didn't answer him, but asked suddenly: "I see that you are dusty, and the cart is full of dry food. You must have come from far away."

"I want to ask you, even if you go to the temple of God Anser, you only see the statue of God Anser, is it worth it?"

The young man was a little surprised: "My friend, you observe carefully! I am from the sea, and it is indeed far away."

He paused and added: "Actually, I should have arrived long ago, but I didn't find out until after I went that the temple of God Anser had been moved, and now it is the temple of Apollo, the God of Light."

"I found this place after wandering around."

"As for whether it's worth it or not, everyone has a different opinion. I'm afraid it's hard to answer you."

"But I think it's worth it."

"Because my God never guided me or any of us, He taught us to live on our own and left us alone."

"This is something you can't get from any god in any church. Only God Anser, he doesn't need believers to do anything for him."

"Because of God Anser, I don't have to join other churches and believe in gods I don't like."

"My friend, you may not know that the outside world is crazy now. If you don't believe in gods, you are heresy; if you believe in gods, you have to sacrifice."

Hephaestus looked at the young man seriously after listening.

"You're a good scholar," he said.
