"What should we do?" Toby said anxiously, "We don't have much time left. We can't just keep wasting time here."

The woman pondered for a moment, then slowly walked towards the stone door and reached out to touch the lines. "I feel... these lines seem to have a certain arrangement." She whispered.

At this time, a voice came from the cracks in the rocks nearby: "Little girl, are you in trouble?"

Everyone turned their heads to look, and saw an old figure walking out of the shadows, holding a long cane in his hand. His face was full of wrinkles, but his eyes were extremely sharp.

"Old man, do you know the secret of this door?" the woman asked hurriedly.

The old man nodded slowly: "I am one of the guardians here, and I know some secrets. But you must pass my test first before you can gain the right to enter."

"What test?" Matthew asked warily.

The old man smiled and said, "You need to find four gems, representing courage, wisdom, trust and strength respectively. These gems are hidden somewhere in this area. Only when you find them can you activate this door."

After hearing this, everyone fell into a brief silence. Finally, the woman spoke first: "Then let's get started now! Split up to look for these gems, and hope to gather them all as soon as possible."

The group quickly split into several groups, each looking for traces of the gem. Matthew and Leonard were in one group, and they decided to start their search from the most obvious path.

"I hope we can find the Gem of Courage." Leonard whispered.

"Well, we will find it." Matthew responded firmly.

On the other side, the woman and Ariel chose a relatively hidden path. Along the way, they carefully avoided various traps and obstacles.

"This place is really too complicated." Ariel sighed, "We have to be extra careful."

"Yes, but I believe we can succeed." The woman's eyes were still full of determination.

Just then, they suddenly found a different stone in front of them, with a strange symbol engraved on it.

"This may be a clue!" the woman said excitedly, and hurried forward to observe carefully.

"Yes, this is exactly the sign we are looking for." Ariel nodded in agreement.

The two worked together to move the stone away, and indeed found a gem hidden underneath. The woman held up the gem, feeling excited.

The other groups also found their own gems one after another. Soon, everyone gathered together again and placed the four gems in a groove in front of the door.

As the gem returned to its place, the stone door slowly opened, revealing the passage leading to the underwater maze.

"We succeeded!" the woman shouted excitedly.

"Yes, but this is just the beginning." Ariel reminded, "The next step is the real challenge."

Everyone exchanged glances, took a deep breath, and stepped into the dark passage together.

"Let's go, we have to find Su Ye as soon as possible and uncover the secret here." The woman said firmly.

A faint sound of water came from deep in the passage, as if welcoming their arrival, but also foreshadowing that more unknowns and dangers would be waiting for them ahead.

"Hey, look what's over there?" Toby suddenly said, pointing ahead.

Everyone looked in the direction he pointed, and saw a faint flicker of light in the darkness.

“That might be where we’re going,” the woman whispered, “but regardless, we have to be careful.”

Before he finished speaking, the group quickened their pace and walked towards the light...

"Wait," the competitor suddenly stopped everyone, "I think something is wrong. It's too quiet here, as if something is waiting for us."

The air around seemed to become heavier, and even the sound of water became silent at this moment.

“You’re right,” the woman nodded, “We must not let our guard down. Everyone should be prepared to deal with any emergency at any time.”

Everyone adjusted their state again, held their breath, and walked forward cautiously. The light was getting closer and closer, as if guiding them forward.

"We're here," Ariel whispered.

Just as they were about to step into the light, a low roar suddenly came, as if the entire cave was shaking. Everyone stopped involuntarily, with an ominous premonition in their hearts.

"What's that sound?" Toby swallowed.

"I don't know," the woman replied, "but no matter what, we must keep moving forward. Only by solving the secrets here can we find Su Ye."

Everyone looked at each other, their heartbeats quickening. The sudden roar made them shudder, but they knew they couldn't retreat at this moment. Only by moving forward could they uncover the mystery and find Su Ye.

"Let's keep moving forward." The woman said firmly, clenching the gem of courage in her hand.

The team slowly moved forward along the passage, the light around them became brighter, and they finally stopped in an open area. The ground here was slippery, and the air was filled with a damp and decayed smell. In front of them was a huge cave, and in the center there seemed to be a small altar, on which was placed a crystal ball that was shining with a strange light.

"Is that the legendary devil's heart?" Leonard asked in a low voice, his eyes solemn.

"It should be." The woman said in a deep voice, "We need to be careful. Things like this usually have powerful protection measures."

Just as they were about to approach the altar, suddenly, several figures flashed in the darkness. Several figures quickly surrounded them from all directions, holding strange weapons, with black paint on their faces, looking extremely fierce.

"Intruders, stand trial!" the leading man in black shouted, rushing forward waving his weapons.

"Everyone, spread out and find cover!" Toby shouted loudly, and was the first to draw out the long knife he carried with him and rushed forward.

The battle was about to start. Ariel swung his fists and knocked down the approaching men in black one by one. Toby dodged the enemy's attacks in the narrow space with his agile steps and flexible skills, while looking for opportunities to counterattack. The woman was not to be outdone. She swung the dagger inlaid with the gem of courage in her hand and started a fierce battle with the enemy. Each strike was extremely accurate, and the sword light was dazzling, which was dazzling.

Matthew and Leonard stood back to back, forming a solid defensive line. Matthew raised his heavy shield to block most of the attacks, while Leonard kept stabbing the enemy with his short spear, causing fatal injuries with every strike.

"These guys look pretty good, but they're still not good enough!" shouted a bystander, who was standing in a safe position in the distance, watching the fierce battle. "That girl is so cool!"

Another passerby responded: "Yeah, those men are not bad. Look at that guy, he's like a beast! But I want to know what they are doing? Is it for something in this cave?"

"It must be an important treasure!" The first passerby said excitedly, "I heard that there is a devil's heart here. Whoever can get it will gain great power! These people must have come here for it!"

The situation on the battlefield became increasingly tense. Although everyone was brave, the enemy was numerous and coordinated well, so it was difficult to gain an advantage for a while. Just as the stalemate was about to begin, a familiar roar sounded again, and the entire cave began to shake slightly.

"What...is this sound?" Toby said breathlessly.

Before he finished speaking, a huge figure gradually emerged from the darkness. It was a tall creature, covered with hard scales, with two pairs of huge wings on its back, and its eyes burning red like torches. Its body exuded a terrifying aura, and everyone involuntarily took a few steps back.

“Devil…” The competitor gasped, “Is this what you call a Western devil?”

"That's right." The woman bit her lower lip tightly. "It seems that Su Ye has indeed been here. We must defeat it before we can move on."

The troll let out a deafening roar, then swung its claws and pounced on everyone. Everyone immediately went on alert and used all their strength to fight.

"Look at that girl over there, she's so brave!" a passerby exclaimed, "And that big guy, wow, he can actually withstand the attack of the troll! They will definitely win!"

At the same time, the trolls' attacks became more and more fierce, and everyone gradually felt powerless. Just when they were about to be overwhelmed, a blue light lit up in the woman's hand. She put the courage gem on her chest, took a deep breath, and shouted: "We can't give up, this is our only hope!"

The blue light gathered into a thin line and shot straight into the troll's eyes. The troll screamed in pain, took a few steps back, and temporarily lost his balance.

Everyone seized the opportunity, quickly adjusted their positions, and launched a final wave of attacks. Ariel leaped up with all his might, punched the troll in the head with a heavy iron fist, and finally knocked it to the ground.

"It's over..." the woman gasped, "What do we do next?"

"It's over..." the woman gasped, "What do we do next?"

Toby wiped the sweat from his forehead and looked around: "We must find Su Ye quickly, but it doesn't seem safe here."

Matthew nodded. "That demon may have accomplices. We should find a relatively safe place to rest for a while."

Leonard frowned: "This place is full of traps and mechanisms. We have to be careful."

The woman looked at the crystal ball on the altar, with a hint of determination in her eyes: "Take this crystal ball with you first. Maybe it can guide us to find Su Ye."

She gently picked up the crystal ball and felt a cold breath passing through her arm. The crystal ball seemed to contain some powerful energy.

"Okay, let's move on," the woman said firmly.

The group readjusted themselves and walked along a path beside the altar. The path was covered with slippery moss, making it difficult to walk. Ariel walked in front and led the way, while Toby followed closely behind to be on guard.

"Did you hear that?" Toby suddenly stopped and looked around vigilantly.

Everyone suddenly became nervous, stopped and listened attentively.

A faint voice came from the front, as if someone was whispering. This voice was creepy, but also had a strange allure.

The woman bit her lower lip. "Whatever it is, we must find out. Be careful and stay in formation."

They continued to move forward, gradually approaching the source of the sound. Soon, a narrow tunnel appeared in front of them. The tunnel was emitting a faint green light, giving people a gloomy and terrifying feeling.

Toby pulled out his long knife and cautiously looked inside: "There seems to be something inside."

Ariel responded, "I'll go check it out first." He clenched his fists and slowly stepped into the tunnel.

The air in the tunnel was unusually heavy, and every step made an echo. Ariel moved forward carefully and soon found the source of the sound. There was a small cave deep in the tunnel, and there was a stone tablet with strange runes engraved on it. In front of the stone tablet was a gem that was shining with green light.

Toby returned to the team to report the situation: "There is a stone tablet inside with some symbols on it. It looks like a warning or guidance."

The woman took over and said, "Those symbols may be the key to solving the mystery here. I'll go take a look."

She walked into the tunnel and carefully studied the runes on the stone tablet. Suddenly, her eyes stopped at an unclear area and found a tiny crack. The woman put her finger into the crack and pried it hard. With a crisp sound, the stone tablet slowly moved away, revealing another gem hidden behind it - this time it was purple.

"Here are new clues!" the woman shouted, and everyone followed immediately.

Leonard took a closer look and said in surprise: "This gem is completely different from the previous one. It seems that we need more clues to figure out all this."

At this moment, a strange noise was heard outside. Several people quickly returned to the exit and saw several dark shadows approaching quietly.

"Another enemy is coming!" Toby warned in a low voice, "Get ready to fight."

Everyone entered into combat mode again, each taking out their weapons and preparing for battle. However, the men in black did not attack directly, but stopped more than ten meters away.

"Who are you?" the leading black-clad man asked coldly, "What are you doing here?"

The woman took a step forward and said calmly, "We are people who are looking for the truth. Who are you? Why are you trying to stop us?"

The man in black glanced at the gemstones in their hands, and his tone became a little softer: "You don't know the danger here. This is the heart of the Demon City, full of secrets that cannot be told. If you don't want to die, you'd better leave now."

The woman shook her head firmly. “We can’t give up. We have a friend trapped here. We must find him.”

Hearing this, the black-clothed man's expression became complicated. He hesitated for a moment and then said, "Okay, I can help you, but the condition is that you have to give us some of what you got." (End of this chapter)
