Tomb Raiding: My Family's Last Clan Chief is Little Brother
Chapter 15 Green Hand Vine
Chapter 15 Green Hand Vine
"Huh?" Zhang Wuxun shone his flashlight forward. "There's no road."
The young man glanced down and said, "Jump."
Then he jumped first.
It looked quite deep down. Zhang Wuxun first threw the blood corpse's head down, put the knife back in the box, and then jumped down, bending over to cushion the impact.
The young man waited on the side, and only continued walking forward after seeing him get up and stand still.
Zhang Wuxun picked up the blood-covered corpse head again and shone his flashlight into the tomb. It was similar in size to the tomb where they had fought the corpse beetles before, but there was still no sign of Xiao Tianzhen and the others. There were only some footprints on the ground.
"Wow," Zhang Wuxun clicked his tongue, "those three kids ran pretty fast, they've vanished without a trace."
The young man listened intently, then pointed ahead, "Up ahead."
The two rushed over and saw Little Innocent and Fatty wrestling with the same little green hand, oh no, it was a tug-of-war.
Pan Zi struggled to pull out his dagger and threw it over, shouting, "Slash quickly!"
Fatty Wang leaned back so far that he was almost parallel to the floor.
Wu Xiaoxie used one hand to help the fat man hold on, and with the other hand, he picked up the dagger and slashed it hard at the fat man's hand.
The little green hand suddenly let go, and flailed wildly as if in a trance, disappearing into the darkness.
Wang Pangzi and Wu Xiaoxie fell flat on their backs as they suddenly relaxed.
"Hahaha..." Zhang Wuxun clutched his stomach and laughed so hard he squatted down.
Wu Xiaoxie glared at him, furious and embarrassed. When he saw it was Zhang Wuxun, he got even angrier. "You Zhang Muyu, you actually watched me get bullied by that damn vine and didn't even come to help! Are you even a brother?!"
Zhang Wuxun quickly moved over to pet its fur, "Don't be angry, don't be angry. It doesn't look dangerous, so I'm giving you a chance to train."
He dragged the bloodied corpse head over, saying, "Here, I brought you a gift too. It's one of a kind, perfect as a decoration."
Wu Xiaoxie was curious and looked down, only to meet two dark, round eyes.
Silence, still silence.
Zhang Wuxun rubbed his arms. "Don't you like it?"
"Like you my foot!" Wu Xiaoxie was furious, clenching her fists and gesturing angrily. "Zhang Muyu, you believe me, if I still had the strength, I would have already flattened you!"
Zhang Wuxun nodded quickly, "I believe you, I believe you completely."
"Hey, you've been through so much, aren't you hungry?" Zhang Wuxun pulled out a few boxes of self-heating meals from his backpack and placed them in front of him. "Choose whichever you like."
The fat man exclaimed and came over, quickly grabbing the only box with meat inside. "Brother, no need to thank me, haha. This is the first time I've eaten so well since I started tomb raiding."
Zhang Wuxun rolled his eyes, then helped the immobile Pan Zi and placed the items in front of him.
The deliveryman took out the self-heating meal that Zhang Wuxun had given him earlier from his backpack, added water, prepared it, and sat down to wait.
Zhang Wuxun then took out a can of meat from his backpack, which was actually from his spatial storage, and used a small spoon to distribute it evenly to everyone.
As the fat man shoveled rice into his mouth, he kept rambling, "From now on, we'll definitely have to bring Brother Wooden Fish with us when we go into tombs. He can heal wounds, he's incredibly skilled, and he even carries a treasure chest. He's practically an all-rounder."
Zhang Wuxun laughed and scolded him, "Even food can't shut you up."
The fat man chuckled and held the empty box up to Zhang Wuxun's eyes. "Is there any more? I'm not full yet."
Zhang Wuxun rummaged through his bag and pulled out the last box, tossing it to him. "Your appetite is truly worthy of all your fat."
The fat man proudly patted his belly, "Of course, Fatty relies entirely on this fat body to go up mountains and down to the sea. People call him the Fat Prince of Tomb Raiders."
"Screw you, this is the last box, there won't be any left after you finish this." Zhang Wuxun finished his rice in two bites and slowly drank some water.
Upon hearing this, the young man put down his chopsticks, rummaged through his backpack and took out the remaining box that Zhang Wuxun had given him earlier, intending to hand it to Zhang Wuxun.
Zhang Wuxun smiled and pushed the food back, saying, "No need, you can keep it. I still have a can of food and a bag of dried meat."
The young man nodded, withdrew his hand, and put it away without saying anything more.
After eating and drinking their fill, the group rested against their backpacks.
With food in his stomach and energy returning to his brain, Wu Xiaoxie began to ramble on. "I don't know where my third uncle and the others went, leaving me all alone in that dark tomb. A rice dumpling even bounced out of the coffin, which almost scared me to death. Luckily, I was quick-witted and found the hole that Fatty had made in the side chamber, which saved me from disaster."
"And you too," Wu Xiaoxie pointed at Zhang Wuxun and accused, "My third uncle has disappeared, Panzi went to chase after Xiao Ge, and you, Muyu, have also vanished."
That's an unfair accusation.
Zhang Wuxun said he wouldn't take the blame for this.
"You have the nerve to say that? I just went out through the crack in the jade gate for a quick stroll, thinking that you would definitely come out soon through this one passage. But I waited and waited and waited and you didn't come. When I went in, I ran into a black-haired zombie that jumped out of a coffin. I fought that bastard for three hundred rounds before I finally killed it. After finding the tomb-raiding tunnel, I quickly crawled in to find you. Who knew that the passage was like a maze? Luckily, I met Fatty. Finally, I hit a trap and fell down to meet you."
"Oh? Is that so?" Wu Xiaoxie felt a little ashamed. "Then I misunderstood you. I apologize. Did that rice dumpling hurt you?"
"It's nothing," Zhang Wuxun shook his head. "I'm not angry either."
Wu Xiaoxie was still a little embarrassed, so he started racking his brains for ideas.
"Hey, tell me, why did that vine suddenly appear and then suddenly disappear, like a ghost?"
Wu Xiaoxie couldn't sit still any longer. He got up, brushed the dirt off his backside, scurried to the spot where the vines had disappeared, shone his wolf-eye flashlight on it, and started randomly poking around with Panzi's dagger as he continued walking into the passage.
"Be careful," Zhang Wuxun reminded him. "Shout if anything seems wrong."
"I understand," Wu Xiaoxie replied, and walked further into the depths.
Zhang Wu thought about it for a moment and decided it would be best to go and see for himself.
Given Wu Xiaoxie's peculiar constitution, it would be strange if something didn't happen to him one day.
"Here!" Wu Xiaoxie exclaimed excitedly, "There's a hole here."
Zhang Wuxun took two steps over and saw that it was indeed true. There was a narrow passage where Wu Xiaoxie was pointing, barely wide enough for one person to pass through, as if someone had deliberately dug it out.
Wu Xiaoxie started to let his thoughts wander, "Since we can't get out of this maze-like passage anyway, why don't we go in and try? Maybe we can get out."
Zhang Wuxun also thought it was feasible, so the two went back to find Xiao Ge and the others and explained the situation.
They all agreed, packed their bags, and went over.
The fat man glanced at it and wanted to curse, "Damn it, isn't this deliberately making things difficult for me? Who dug this hole?"
The young man said, "It was taken by the corpse beetles."
"Pfft, hahaha..." Zhang Wuxun and Xiao Tianzhen laughed so hard they leaned against each other. Pan Zi clutched his stomach, wanting to laugh but not daring to, afraid of reopening his wound.
The fat man grunted twice, "I, Fatty, am definitely leaving today."
As he spoke, he took off his backpack, pulled out a rope, tied it to his feet, and climbed into the hole first.
The second position is held by the young man, who can react quickly if there is any danger ahead.
Next was Wu Xiaoxie. When it was Pan Zishi's turn, Zhang Wuxun was a little worried about his injury.
"It's alright." Panzi patted his shoulder. "Your brother Pan is tough and resilient."
Zhang Wuxun didn't say anything more. Seeing that he was indeed fine, he climbed in after him.
As for the blood corpse head, Zhang Wu thought about it and decided to take it with him, because the jade figurine that the young man later strangled seemed to be related to this blood corpse.
Because of his enormous size, the fat man would get stuck from time to time, and he would have to suck in his stomach and tuck in his buttocks to get through, so his movement speed was not very fast.
As Wu Xiaoxie crawled along, he suddenly burst out laughing, leaving Pan Zi behind him completely bewildered.
"Young Master, what's wrong?"
Wu Xiaoxie suppressed a laugh and said, "Don't we look like maggots, crawling around in this cave like this?"
Everyone: "...Pfft, hahaha."
