Chapter 264 Hole-like Face
Seeing the young man's appearance, Zhang Wuxun felt a pang of sadness, and he also realized that his time was running out.

With a sigh, she bent down, picked up the young man, walked to the smokeless stove, put him down, and took out a blanket to wrap him up.

Then he woke up Fatty and Wu Xiaoxie, saying, "Little Brother is back."

Wu Xiaoxie waved his hand in front of Xiao Ge's eyes, but when he didn't react at all, his heart skipped a beat, and he immediately had a bad feeling. "What's wrong with Xiao Ge?"

Zhang Wuxun's expression was grave. "The things inside the meteorite have affected him. The young man's perception of the outside world is now almost zero. He can neither hear nor see."

The fat man was speechless. "Holy crap! No way, has this guy really gone mad?"

"This guy has such a strong heart, how terrifying must the thing inside be to scare him like this?"

Wu Xiaoxie's mind was in complete turmoil, filled with countless questions: What exactly was inside the meteorite jade? Why did Muyu and Xiaoge both encounter problems after entering?

Wooden Fish went to great lengths to self-harm in an effort to stay conscious, yet still lost his memory. It seems the young man suffered some kind of intense shock, and his brain activated its self-protective mechanism in response to the trauma.

What about Chen Wenjin?
She still hasn't come out, doesn't that mean...?

Wu Xiaoxie dared not think about it any further. He got up, turned on his flashlight, and habitually shone it towards the entrance of the meteorite cave. As soon as the pale light swept across the cave, he realized that something was wrong.

There's something inside the hole!
Wu Xiaoxie's scalp tingled instantly. He wasn't sure if he was just too nervous and had misread it, so he had to suppress his panic, turn up the power, and shine the light into the dark cave entrance again.

This time he saw it clearly. The moment that thing stared at him, he felt a chill run through his body and even forgot to breathe.

The fat man noticed something was wrong and quickly tugged at him, "Tianzhen, what's wrong?"

As he asked the question, his gaze also turned toward the crater, where he was met with a bloodless human face. In the dry, sunken eye sockets, a pair of dark eyes were staring intently at the two of them.

The fat man yelled, then turned around and immediately reached for his gun.

The shout startled Wu Xiaoxie awake. His hand trembled, the lamplight flickered, and when he shone it again, the pale face was gone, and the deep crater remained pitch black.

"You saw it too, didn't you?" Wu Xiaoxie asked, her lips trembling.

Sweat beaded on the fat man's forehead. He cursed, his face ashen, and said, "Damn it, let's go!"

He turned around and jogged over to Zhang Wuxun.

Wu Xiaoxie shone his flashlight a few more times, but the place remained empty.

He had no choice but to turn around and run back, only to find the fat man already packing his gear. He asked in confusion, "Fatty, what are you doing? The face we just saw could very well be Chen Wenjin..."

Before he could finish speaking, the fat man interrupted him, "Didn't you recognize him?"

Wu Xiaoxie was taken aback. "Recognized what?"

Could that face be what Chen Wenjin looked like after she became a forbidden woman?
The fat man pointed behind him with a grim expression. Wu Xiaoxie suddenly felt a chill run down his spine and turned his head sharply to look.

With a flash of light, in that instant, that pale, ferocious face appeared not far behind him.

A chill ran from his feet to the back of his head in an instant, and Wu Xiaoxie almost choked. Good heavens, the owner of that face was none other than the Queen Mother of the West, who was sitting on her throne not far away!

Zhang Wuxun had just settled Xiao Ge in when he saw the two of them and knew what had happened. He lowered his voice and said to Wu Xiaoxie, "We can't stay here any longer. I know you're worried about Chen Wenjin. When we left, we left all the food behind. There's nothing else we can do. We've already come this far, and she can't possibly come out with us anymore. This is her fate."

Wu Xiaoxie shook his head blankly, staring at the deep hole, and murmured, "No, we can't leave her alone..." The fat man patted him and advised, "Tianzhen, there's a good chance that the boss can't get out. Instead of wasting time here, we should hurry up and find a way to save Xiao Ge. This place is too eerie; we can't all perish here."

Wu Xiaoxie glanced at Xiao Ge, who was wrapped in a sleeping bag, his brows furrowed, his face pale, as if he were trapped in a terrible nightmare, and had no choice but to give in.

The three quickly packed up their equipment, leaving all the food in a conspicuous spot under the stone pillar, with the fat man even surrounding it with stones.

"Let's go." The fat man slung his backpack over his shoulder, which contained only some light equipment that he could use.

"Turn off the extra lights." Zhang Wuxun carried the young man on his back and walked in the middle. "Try to make as little noise as possible; there are snakes in the lake."

The fat man walked at the front, covering his flashlight with his hand, only a few slivers of light shining through his fingers, barely enough to see the road.

Following the direction Black Bear had taken a few days earlier, the three quickened their pace, crossed the underground lake, and entered the main water channel.

Going upstream, the sluice gate ahead was rusty, but its size meant they couldn't open it in a short time.

Zhang Wuxun was also afraid that if they made too much noise, they might disturb the snake mother in the lake below, so he and Wu Xiaoxie searched for an exit on the stone walls on both sides.

"Come over here!" the fat man called out in a low voice, waving the lamp in his hand.

Zhang Wuxun and the other two quickly went over.

The fat man pointed to a small, eyeglass-shaped mark next to a crack in the stone wall and grinned, "That bear was a good friend; he even left a mark for us."

Zhang Wuxun nodded. "If we follow his marks, we should be able to find your third uncle and the others."

With a goal in mind, the three of them felt less burdened.

The fat man's plan was to walk from here to the waterway in one day, but going uphill was much more strenuous than going downhill. After walking non-stop for six hours, the first waterway entrance finally appeared before them.

The three stopped to rest for a while, and Zhang Wuxun took out food from his spatial storage to fill their stomachs.

The young man's expression remained dazed. He didn't even notice when the compressed biscuit was placed in his mouth. He was completely bewildered, like a puppet who had lost its soul, and he didn't respond to anyone who spoke to him.

Zhang Wuxun fed him some sugar water and gave him an injection of nutritional supplements.

They continued on their journey, the atmosphere heavy and somber. The fat man tried to crack a few jokes, but Zhang Wuxun and the other man weren't in the mood to laugh with him, so he could only sigh and fall silent.

Following the marks left by the bear, they walked for three days in a row. Finally, a faint light appeared ahead in the dark waterway, and they could smell the pungent odor of sulfur.

The group quickened their pace and bumped into Panzi, who had come out with a gun to check the situation.

"Young Master San!"

Pan Zi, with tears welling up in his eyes, was so excited that he couldn't speak coherently. He quickly ran over to support Wu Xiaoxie.

"Wooden Fish, Fatty, come in quickly."

Pan Zi called out, and the mop hidden in the gap behind him ran out at the sound. Upon seeing it, he exclaimed "Oh dear!" and slapped his thigh, "Master Yu, Fatty, you're finally back!"
