Chapter 39 Escape
Hearing the noises above and below, Wu Xiaoxie grabbed Zhang Wuxun's arm and scrambled to his feet, saying urgently, "Hurry up, the cracks have started to leak. If this place collapses, none of us will be able to escape."

No sooner had the words been spoken than a very desolate and long sound came from above, as if something was breaking.

The fat man splashed around in the water, breathing in the fresh air in large gulps. "Fat Master is finally back in the human world, hahaha!"

Hearing his laughter, the group felt a sense of relief and joy at surviving a disaster.

Wu Xiaoxie suddenly remembered something and asked, "Where's A-Ning?"

The fat man had absolutely no liking for the woman. "Why bother with her? She's lucky she won't die anyway."

Wu Xiaoxie frowned, still feeling somewhat reluctant, after all, it was a human life.

Zhang Wuxun sighed, "You two hurry up and get on the boat with the young man. I'm going back to check. I think he's been entangled by the Forbidden Woman."

Upon hearing that there was a forbidden woman involved, Wu Xiaoxie said, "Then forget it, don't go, it's too dangerous."

In his heart, ten Anings were not as important as the wooden fish.

Wu Xiaoxie and Fatty on the boat quickly pulled the two aboard.

After tossing the man onto the deck, Zhang Wuxun turned and went back to the cabin to change his clothes.

When he came out, he was holding a piece of paper with writing on it. He squatted down in front of the unconscious Ah Ning, pricked the tip of her right thumb, and after the blood beaded out, he smeared it evenly and poked it onto the paper.

OK, one IOU is done.

The fat man gave Zhang Wuxun a thumbs up, "Amazing." Zhang Wuxun shook the note to let the handprint on it dry, then carefully put it away. "Of course, I can't just owe you a life-saving favor."

The boat was empty; apart from the fish kept in the water, there wasn't a single person in sight, and no one knew where they had gone.

I pondered for a long time but still couldn't figure it out.

The group was exhausted after the ordeal and went to find a place to sleep.

When I opened my eyes again, I was awakened by the aroma of fish.

Zhang Wuxun went out with toiletries and bumped into the fat man who was walking in. "Hey, you're up already? I was just about to call you."

"Go call Xiao Tianzhen," Zhang Wuxun mumbled, toothbrush in his mouth. "I'll watch the pot for you for now."

After brushing my teeth and washing my face, I heard a series of wailing and howling from inside the cabin. Then I saw Wu Xiaoxie, with messy hair, barefoot, and holding a shoe in one hand, chasing after Fatty like a madman.

The fat man ran towards Zhang Wuxun with a sly grin, yelling, "Wooden Fish, save me!"

Zhang Wuxun wiped his face with a disposable towel and said helplessly, "What did you do to them again?"

The fat man hid behind him, laughing incessantly. "How could it be me? It was clearly Little Innocent who was having a wet dream, and I caught him, so he got angry out of embarrassment..."

"Bullshit!" Wu Xiaoxie shouted angrily, his face flushed. "I was clearly woken up from my sleep by you, you fat bastard, using the Forbidden Woman! How dare you try to play the victim here!"

Zhang Wuxun shrugged, took out a new towel and covered Wu Xiaoxie's face, comforting him, "Don't be angry, don't be angry, calm down. We'll rob him of all his fish later and make him starve."

Wu Xiaoxie gave the departing fat man a vicious little thumbs-up.

Zhang Wuxun suppressed a laugh as he prepared bowls and chopsticks for the group.

After adjusting the course and letting the boat drift on its own, the young man came over and sat down at the table.

Zhang Wuxun stared intently as the fat man skillfully chopped scallions and added garlic to the pot, the aroma of fish in the air growing stronger.

Wu Xiaoxie mixed the dipping sauce in the small bowl, "I didn't realize Fatty knew so much."

Zhang Wuxun also sniffed and took a deep breath, "Fatty, are you really not considering opening a big restaurant or something? I'll invest in you."

"Haha!" The fat man laughed smugly. "It's just a fish soup, nothing special. Back when I was sent to the countryside, I had to do everything myself. Hunting, fishing, raiding beehives, I was good at everything. Running a restaurant is not my ambition."
