The silver fox mask trembled almost imperceptibly, and knowing he had become a cripple, he lowered his head and replied, "Yes."

No one would disagree with this, and the principles and rules they have always adhered to do not allow them to disagree.

The man with the blue fox mask turned to make arrangements for the others, sending a group of people out to search for new clues.

The rest of the Wang family members were either resting or adjusting their equipment. Even the guards at the entrance of the cave failed to notice that something was quietly changing inside the seemingly desolate tree hollow.

Golden Fox wanted to put the red snake back into its original combination lock box, but for some reason, the red snake kept resisting being touched, avoiding her hand twice in a row, and showing signs of agitation, constantly flicking its tongue, its head slithering as if searching for something.

The golden fox was somewhat suspicious. She looked around but didn't find anything unusual, so she used her finger bones to communicate with the red snake.

The red snake ignored her, raised its upper body, and hissed excitedly as its tongue constantly caught a scent molecule in the air that excited it.

Sensing something from the scent molecules, the red snake paused, ignoring the serpent tamer who was still trying to control it with the sound of bones clashing, and crawled straight to the wide-open combination lock box, coiled up inside, and then remained still.

Golden Fox was somewhat taken aback. This red snake was hatched from an egg she had personally selected from among a group of mutated snake species. She had fed it blood every day to raise it until now. It had been raised from a young age to this age, and apart from being bloodthirsty, it was also quite obedient. What was wrong with it today?
Although the red snake refused to communicate, the golden fox decided to report the red snake's sudden abnormality to the team leader as a warning.

Just as she was about to get up, she suddenly realized something was wrong.

It's so quiet.

Yes, the entire tree hollow had fallen into a chilling silence since some unknown time.

Even the occasional beeping and electromagnetic noises from the instruments and equipment disappeared without a sound.

What is it? What exactly is it?!

The golden fox was terrified and tried to gasp for breath, but it felt as if a large wad of cotton was stuck in its throat, blocking its trachea. Its whole body convulsed unconsciously due to lack of oxygen.

Thump! One after another, heavy objects fell to the ground, and now it was finally the Golden Fox Mask's turn.

She lay on her side on the ground, facing the cave entrance. Her lingering consciousness controlled her eyes to look in that direction, and in a daze, she seemed to see two ghostly shadows appear silently.

She felt an itch in her eyeballs, and something was wriggling inside the lens, about to puncture her eyeballs and burst out. She tried to look.

White things emerged from her lower eyelids, covering her eyeballs and obscuring her vision.

What is that twisted and winding thing?
A small snake? Or...? As her last consciousness faded, she felt her body being wrapped and bound.

Oh, it's a tendril.

The withered vines inside the huge tree hole have come back to life.

Zhang Wuxun controlled the withered white vines to awaken them from their slumber, and countless new vines spontaneously sought out fresh blood.

They are ubiquitous, like a locust plague sweeping through; once the young shoots take root, they grow wildly in flesh and blood.

Fortunately, Zhang Wuxun used his materialization ability in advance to isolate the fat man from the white vine tendrils that had been revived and were only able to hunt and reproduce according to their instincts.

Zhang Haike hid far outside the cave, watching intently as Zhang Wuxun, completely unprotected, strolled into this deadly lair filled with murderous intent. He saw Zhang Wuxun as a monarch ascending the throne step by step; with each step he took, the greedy vines that had come to greet him seemed to spontaneously retreat to both sides.

Zhang Haike's eyes grew increasingly deep, filled with shock, apprehension, and wariness, which ultimately turned into relief.

Zhang Wuxun and his companion led the fat man and the remaining members of the Wang family to another tree hollow.

The fat man stared blankly as the two, like gods descending to earth, swiftly and decisively eliminated the enemy. His brain, still reeling from blood loss, was completely blank. Staring at the face before him, which seemed both familiar and unfamiliar, it took him a long time to realize that this was not a dream.

Zhang Wuxun quickly examined the fat man's injuries. Fortunately, he had the regeneration energy left in the fat man's body from when he used his materialization ability to heal the fat man's injuries after dealing with the long-tailed beast in the Stone Tower Maze some time ago. The fat man's injuries appeared to be very serious, but in fact, the severed tendons in his hands and feet had been repaired by that energy. The most serious injury was actually on his face.

Zhang Wuxun summoned a familiar silver light cluster at his fingertips, healing the wounds on the fat man's hands, ankles, and knees. Only then did he guide the energy lines through the fat man's meridians, erasing some old and new injuries, before finally converging on the fat man's face.

The bleeding stopped instantly, and the granulation tissue on both sides of the tear, like moss growing in water, eagerly replenished the damaged tissue, and new capillaries grew rapidly.

As cells continue to accumulate and new tissues form, the long, deep scratches on the fat man's face, which were visible to the naked eye, turned into long red marks slightly darker than his skin tone, then quickly turned into dark brown, and then gradually transitioned to light pink.

The wound was very itchy during the healing process, so to prevent the fat man from scratching, Zhang Wuxun wrapped his entire body in gauze.

After dealing with these matters, he looked up at the fat man and saw that the fat man's eyes were not moving. He couldn't help but smile and said, "Why are you staring at me like that? Don't you recognize me?"

The fat man's eyes were complicated, and his voice was extremely hoarse, "You... this kind of ability is fine in front of us, but don't use it outside."

Although they had long known that the wooden fish possessed some kind of special ability, they never expected it to be so unbelievable.

If this ability to revive the dead and heal the wounded were exposed, it would surely attract countless forces to covet and seize it.

"I don't care whether other people live or die." Zhang Wuxun's lips curled up slightly, revealing a suppressed laugh. "As long as you don't treat me like a monster, that's fine."

The fat man glared at him, then, remembering something, quickly said, "Tianzhen was in that tree hole before, but then she disappeared. Did you two move her?"

Zhang Wuxun helped him up and fed him some water from the water bottle. "No, we found you first by following the trail of blood, but I can roughly guess where Tianzhen is. We'll take care of the rest of the Wang family members in a bit and then head out to find him."

The fat man nodded and said that was good, then asked, "By the way, what's wrong with your eyes? Why did they change color? I didn't even recognize you until you said something. Is it... a side effect of that ability?"

He couldn't help but think back to the time in the underwater tomb, when, if he remembered correctly, the wooden fish's eyes, which had been controlled by something, looked similar.

"Eyes?" Zhang Wuxun raised his hand and touched his eye socket, then said "Oh, it's nothing, it has nothing to do with that. It's a new ability I've mastered, and I haven't gotten used to it yet. It's a bit active, but I'll be able to control it after a while."

As Zhang Wuxun spoke, he blinked, and a layer of misty blue semi-transparent membrane quickly swept across it. His golden vertical pupils slowly expanded into circles. As the shape changed, the color of his pupils gradually deepened, returning to their usual brownish-black, with only a touch of dark gold remaining in the very center of the pupils.

The faint golden light was almost imperceptible, as if it were a spark from the fire next to him reflected in his eyes.

But when Zhang Wuxun no longer consciously controlled it, his dark pupils suddenly narrowed and changed color, causing him to unconsciously exude a cold aura.

The fat man met those eyes and a chill ran through him, a feeling of being watched by a cold-blooded predator. (End of Chapter)
