Chapter 81 Giant Banyan Tree
Wu Xiaoxie, wielding a torch and a machete, repeatedly repelled the entangled vines as he approached Zhang Wuxun and the other man.

Zhang Wuxun ran over and cut the vines that were wrapped around Lao Yang's feet, helped Lao Yang up, and the two were about to retreat.

Suddenly, a vine as thick as a wrist appeared out of thin air, carrying the power of thunder, and attacked the two of them with lightning speed. Zhang Wuxun's knife was not affected when it struck, but he was instead shattered and his hand was broken, and the hilt of the knife slipped and flew off the plank road.

Seeing that the two were in grave danger, Zhang Wuxun didn't bother to hide at the critical moment. His skull knife flashed, and he raised his hand to block the vines that attacked again. He turned around to call Lao Yang behind him to run, but he saw a horrifying scene.

A vine, without anyone noticing, silently pierced through Lao Yang's abdomen from behind.

Lao Yang stood there blankly, a trace of blood slowly seeping from the corner of his mouth, his expression bewildered, seemingly unaware of what had happened.

Following Zhang Wuxun's horrified gaze downwards, he saw a vine still wriggling on his stomach. The pain returned, and Lao Yang let out a scream. Startled, the vine quickly wrapped around Lao Yang's waist and pulled back.

Zhang Wuxun reacted and reached out to grab him, but he was entangled by the vines on the side and couldn't get free. After finally breaking free, he looked up and saw that Lao Yang had been completely wrapped up by the vines and disappeared into the darkness further away.

"Come on!"

Zhang Wuxun decisively retreated, pulling Wu Xiaoxie along the plank road and running upwards without stopping, with vines following behind, chasing after them all the way up the plank road.

These vines seemed to possess a spirit, leisurely dangling behind the two of them. Once Zhang Wuxun and his companion were about to exceed their length range, the vines above would converge like a relay race, ensuring that no matter how the prey tried to escape, it could not escape their grasp.

Wu Xiaoxie was almost out of breath, desperately chasing after Zhang Wuxun ahead, stumbling and running aimlessly, his mind blank, his eyes bloodshot, his legs as weak as tofu, but he dared not stop.

Zhang Wuxun, who was running in the lead, suddenly stopped. Wu Xiaoxie, with his head down, didn't have time to brake before he saw it. He shouted and crashed heavily into Zhang Wuxun's back. The two of them then fell into the air together.

It turned out there was a break in front of him. In that instant, countless thoughts flashed through Wu Xiaoxie's mind, as fast as a movie playing in his head. He even thought about what to write in the first few sentences of his will.

Before he could even experience the feeling of weightlessness for long, Wu Xiaoxie suddenly fell to the ground with a thud. A muffled groan came from beneath him as his head hit something soft, and then he was flipped over and rolled around.

Wu Xiaoxie felt the ground beneath his face was a bit prickly. With the slightest movement, he heard a tiny cracking sound, like crushed dry leaves. His nostrils were filled with the pungent, musty smell of dry wood, withered trees, and rotten leaves.

I touched the ground with my hand, and sure enough, it was a leaf.

Wu Xiaoxie got up from the ground, stretched his arms and kicked his legs to make sure that no part of his body was broken. He kicked something with his toe and his heart skipped a beat. He thought to himself that the reason he was unharmed was probably because the wooden fish underneath him had acted as a cushion.

With his own weight plus the nearly 180-ton equipment piled on top of him, Muyu would probably be knocked unconscious.

Thinking of this, he quickly reached for the lighter in his pocket, thankfully it hadn't fallen out.

Wu Xiaoxie lit a lighter and leaned over to shine the light on the spot where he had just kicked. Sure enough, he saw Zhang Wuxun lying flat on the ground, his face contorted in pain, clutching his stomach with both hands, and hissing as he gasped for breath.
