Chapter 9 Fang Ding Blood Corpse

In terms of locating burial sites, Master Wu was an expert. He led Pan Zi and Da Kui to work on the site, while Zhang Wuxun and the others stayed by the fire to watch.

After all, Zhang Wuxun didn't understand either, and his presence would only make things worse.

Needless to say, Wu Xiaoxie had been walking for almost a whole day and was now so sleepy he was practically pecking at rice.

As for the young man, Zhang Wuxun imagined him bending over, huffing and puffing as he dug in the dirt. Oh no, he couldn't take it.

That's so damn damaging to my image.

The hole was dug in about half an hour.

When Uncle Wu came over and saw his eldest nephew who was already exhausted, he thought for a moment and said, "Go home early tomorrow. Rest tonight and conserve your energy."

There are ready-made tents, one for each person is no problem.

At four o'clock in the morning, Zhang Wuxun was awakened by rustling sounds.

When they went outside, they saw that Uncle Wu and the others were already packing their things.

The young man also lifted the tent flap and came out, carrying a backpack and his knife.

Pan Zi went to call Wu Xiaoxie, and Zhang Wuxun also packed his backpack, tied his hair up with a peach wood hairpin, carried an ebony box in his left hand, and two boxes of Tibetan self-heating rice and a bag of yak jerky in his right hand. He walked over and handed them to Xiao Ge.

The young man raised his eyelids and glanced at Zhang Wuxun, but did not take the food.

Zhang Wuxun stuffed the things into his hand, saying, "Take these, everyone gets one."

The young man looked into the tent and saw Panzi also packing self-heating meals into his backpack. He quietly thanked him and then put his food into his backpack.

Zhang Wuxun raised an eyebrow, extremely satisfied.

He knew that the young man would be on solo missions for a period of time after he went inside, and given his tendency to bleed and sacrifice himself at the slightest provocation, he couldn't possibly survive on just compressed biscuits.

Several men, carrying headlamps, descended into the hole they had dug the night before.

The hole at the bottom was quite large, enough for several people to stand on.

Da Kui took the pickaxe, preparing to make an opening in the brick wall that had been cleared yesterday.

"Don't move," the young man suddenly said.

Da Kui was startled. He turned his head and met the young man's sharp eyes, and immediately dared not utter a sound.

The young man stepped forward, extended his right middle and index fingers, and felt along the cracks in the bricks. "There's an anti-theft interlayer inside. When moving the bricks, you can only move them outwards, not push them or smash them."

As he spoke, he stopped his finger at a certain spot, then suddenly exerted force, and with a whooshing sound, he managed to force his finger into the crack between the bricks. Then, with just two fingers, he pulled the brick out.

Pan Zi and his companions were dumbfounded.

"The wall contains alum acid, which was used in alchemy in the past. Once it's broken, it will instantly pour onto us," the young man said, pointing to the dark red wax wall behind the bricks.

Wu Xiaoxie swallowed hard and asked with difficulty, "What would happen if it actually got on someone?"

Zhang Wuxun patted his shoulder and chuckled, "Actually, it won't be a big deal. At most, your skin will be burned off and you'll look a bit gruesome with all that blood. But you'll still be alive."

Wu Xiaoxie's expression was rather unpleasant, it was unclear what he had thought of.

Zhang Wuxun clicked his tongue, looking at how frightened the child was.

The young man then had Da Kui dig a five-meter-deep vertical well, and then carefully introduced alum acid into it using a needle and a tube.

The young man stopped working only after the wax wall turned white, put away his tools, and said, "That's enough."

Everyone immediately transformed into porters and began moving bricks.

They quickly dug a hole big enough for one person to pass through, threw in a tinderbox, and tested the oxygen level.

After confirming that it was safe, everyone went inside one by one.

The tomb floor is made of a single stone slab, covered with ancient characters arranged in a pattern resembling the Bagua diagram.

He lit the eternal lamp hanging on the wall. In the center of the tomb was a four-legged square cauldron. Leaving aside the carvings on the top of the tomb, Zhang Wuxun was not interested in them. His attention was more focused on the stone coffin behind the cauldron.

He knew there was a blood-soaked corpse inside.

According to the subsequent records in the notes, the person lying inside should be King Mu of Zhou.

Wu Xiaoxie propped himself up on his knees and studied the characters on the floor, while Pan Zi had already climbed onto the cauldron.

"Third Master, there's treasure here!" Zhang Wuxun quickly pulled a sturdy bag from the side pocket of his backpack, shook it open twice, put on gloves, and approached the cauldron with a smile, opening the bag to wait for it to be filled.

Pan Zi laughed heartily, picked up the most beautiful blue-green jade bottle inside, and put it in.

Old Master Wu laughed and scolded, "You two lads, that's for placing sacrificial offerings. Do you want to be sacrificed? Hurry up and get down."

Pan Zi waved his hand dismissively, "Don't scare me, there are plenty of good things here, look here..."

Suddenly, a "clucking" sound echoed from the empty tomb, sounding ethereal and eerie.

Pan Zi's voice stopped abruptly, his face turned pale, and he stood frozen in place.

Everyone's eyes turned to the source of the sound.

"Giggle—" another sound.

The voice actually came from the young man.

Wu Xiaoxie's eyes widened, "Brother, you..." Could it be a giant zombie that has come to life?!
Wu Xiaoxie's lips trembled, but he wisely refrained from uttering the second half of his sentence.

The young man kept making "clucking" sounds, his eyes fixed on the stone coffin, but the key point was that his mouth never opened.

Everyone just felt horrified.

Master Wu kept giving Pan Zi meaningful glances, urging him to get off the cauldron quickly.

Suddenly, the young man fell silent.

The tomb was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

As time ticked by, the young man's expression grew increasingly grim.

Suddenly, the stone coffin made a cracking sound, and then began to shake violently, as if something terrifying was about to break out of the coffin.

Da Kui's legs went weak, and he rolled his eyes and was about to fall to the ground.

Although Wu Xiaoxie was also terrified, he quickly ran over to support Da Kui and pinched the soft flesh on the inside of his arm hard.

"Uh—" Da Kui instantly woke up.

Upon hearing the sound coming from the stone coffin, the young man bent his knees and was about to kneel down on the ground.

Zhang Wuxun, with a cold face, flew over and kicked the stone coffin, causing it to shift by about ten centimeters.

Everyone was startled by his sudden action.

The stone coffin also stopped shaking.

The thing inside seemed to be frightened.

Zhang Wuxun's voice was icy cold, "You think you're worthy?"

At this moment, the aura emanating from him was as powerful as a tidal wave, like a ferocious beast looking down upon the world.

A strange "clattering" sound came from the stone coffin, and the thing inside spoke rapidly, as if it were trying to explain itself.

Zhang Wuxun snorted coldly, and then surprisingly made a "giggle" sound as well.

Wu Xiaoxie felt he was probably going to faint too. What kind of bad luck was this? How come everyone around him was a giant zombie?

The young man looked at Zhang Wuxun in surprise, opened his mouth, but ultimately said nothing.

Zhang Wuxun made a "clucking" sound, and the contents of the stone coffin followed with a "thump," as if the two sides were negotiating.

Ultimately, the thing inside the stone coffin, out of fear, took a step back.

Zhang Wuxun smiled slightly, pushed the stone coffin back to its original position, and took out a tissue from his pocket to wipe away the footprints he had kicked earlier.

Everyone looked indifferent.

Zhang Wuxun walked back to the square cauldron, picked up the bag from the ground, pointed to another large green jade bottle inside the cauldron, and mouthed to Pan Zi, who was standing there dumbfounded, "Put another one in."

Pan Zi was in a daze, but he actually did as instructed.

"Run!" Zhang Wuxun tightened the rope on the bag, grabbed Pan Zi's arm and pulled him out. As soon as they landed, he let go, picked up the ebony box next to him, and shouted, "Run! What the hell are you all standing there for? Run!"
