Chapter 10 Finding the Burglar's Hole
The next day, the group got up very early and began digging a tunnel.

Based on Hu Bayi's observation, a place with relatively loose soil was chosen for excavation.

This place was actually dug and filled in by tomb raiders, so the soil was loose. In just over an hour, Fatty Wang dug a hole that was half a person high.

Old Hu was directing from above the cave, while Fatty was working hard.

Hu Ming found a broken tree to sit on, took out some gasoline, filled several empty bottles, and planned to give them to Hu Bayi and the others later.

Yingzi took the hunting dogs to hunt for food, and Hu Ming also told her to catch a few more live rabbits, as they might be needed when they went down into the tomb later.

After finishing his work, Hu Ming came over to check on his chubby brother's progress.

"Bang! Bang bang!"

The fat man was working hard inside the cave, and when the shovel went down, it struck some hard material.

Hu Bayi exclaimed upon hearing the sound, "What is that?!"

Fatty Wang looked completely bewildered and said, "I don't know!!"

Wang Pangzi thought about it for a moment and then ignored it, burying his head and preparing to continue working. At this moment, Hu Ming jumped down into the hole.

Hu Ming said, "Alright, Fatty, hurry up and come up here so I can take a look!"

Hu Ming quickly stopped the fat man from digging any further. Tomb raiding was no joke; a slight mistake could cost you your life.

So Hu Bayi jumped into the cave, took his entrenching tool and dug a few times. Then they saw a large green stone, like jade, begin to reveal itself.

Upon seeing this, the fat man was completely stunned; he had truly struck gold!

Hu Bayi swallowed hard, panicked, and hurriedly covered the hole with more soil before jumping back into the tunnel with lingering fear.

Seeing Hu Bayi's flustered appearance, Fatty Wang asked in confusion, "What's wrong, Lao Hu? What happened?!"

Before Hu Bayi could even speak, Hu Ming, who had also jumped onto the tomb, chimed in, "These tomb raiders have dug up the Heavenly Treasure Dragon Fire Glazed Tile Top!"

Fatty Wang's pupils dilated suddenly, feeling a sense of awe and wonder. "What is the Heavenly Treasure Dragon Fire Glazed Top?!"

Hu Bayi explained from the side: "This is a common anti-theft technique used in some noble tombs during the Northern Song Dynasty. Their tomb chambers were all hollow, with a layer of glazed tiles on the top layer, and bags of Western Region fire dragon oil on top of the tiles, followed by another layer of glazed tiles, and then a mound of earth was used to seal it."

And the Western Regions fire dragon oil ignited upon contact with air, burning all the remains and burial goods in the tomb to ashes, killing the tomb robbers along with them!” After hearing Hu Ming’s explanation, Fatty Wang was even more shocked. Hu Bayi continued, "Luckily, Mingzi noticed something was wrong and stopped you. If you had used any more force and broken through this glass roof, we would have all turned into a pile of bones."

Now, the fat man was sweating profusely. It seemed he had almost lost his life outside the tomb before even entering it.

"Woof! Woof woof!!"

Just as the three were about to search for the side cave, several barking dogs and Yingzi's shouts suddenly came from the woods!
"Oh no, something's happened to Yingzi!" The voice wasn't far away, and the three of them immediately ran towards Yingzi.

"Yingzi!!" Fatty and Hu Bayi shouted, looking around for Yingzi!
"Brother Xiaoming, Brother Hu, Brother Fatty, I'm here!"

Yingzi's voice came from behind them, and the three of them found the source of the sound next to a big tree.

Following the tree, the three saw a large hole next to it.

Hu Ming called out into the cave, "Yingzi, are you alright?!"

Hu Bayi frowned and looked around, then said to Hu Ming and the other man, "If I'm not mistaken, this is the tunnel dug by those tomb raiders!"

The three of them looked at each other, none of them expecting such good luck. They were just about to look for a side cave when Yingzi ran into them. Luckily, Yingzi was alright.

Hu Ming immediately said, "Fatty, hurry up and get the things, don't forget the rope, and my gasoline!"

"Great!" Upon hearing that they had found the tunnel, the fat man became excited and immediately ran back to find his equipment.

"Old Hu, wait here for me. I'll check on Yingzi first." With that, Hu Ming grabbed his backpack and jumped down into the tunnel.

As soon as Hu Ming landed, Hu Bayi's voice came from above, "Mingzi, how is it? Is the cave deep?"

"I'm fine, but this hole is quite deep. It's best to get a rope to come down!" After replying, Hu Ming looked at Yingzi, who was sitting by the entrance of the hole.

Seeing this, Hu Ming went over and asked, "Are you alright, Yingzi?"

Yingzi replied, "It's nothing, I just twisted my ankle! It's nothing, I just checked myself, and I didn't break any bones."

Hu Ming nodded and said, "Okay, I have some safflower oil here, you can rub it on yourself." He then took out a small bottle of safflower oil from his bedding and handed it to Yingzi.

Yingzi wiped herself clean, and then Hu Ming helped her walk around. After confirming that there was nothing seriously wrong, the two of them found a place to sit down and waited for Hu Bayi and Wang Pangzi to get down before taking any further action.
