Tomb Raider: I Am Hu Bayi's Cousin
Chapter 514 Strange Black Hair
As he spoke, Hu Ming conjured up the Dragon Pattern Cloud-Swept Sword out of thin air, mustered all his strength, and plunged the entire blade inside.
Changing direction, the indestructible sword carved a long, narrow, cone-shaped piece of cement off the wall.
This wall is made of cement mixed with locally sourced gravel.
The overall color was an ominous blood red.
As Hu Ming pulled out the cone-shaped cement block, Wu Xie and Xiao Hua were horrified to discover that the cement became increasingly darker as it went deeper.
In the middle section, the cement cone appears as a slightly brighter dark red.
Upon closer inspection, it also has a yellowish hue that leans towards a dark brown.
This substance looked exactly like rusty water, but the three of them were all knowledgeable and knew that it was the color of blood!
“Nephews, I think we’re in for some fun here! There’s definitely big trouble deep down here, the kind of trouble we couldn’t solve back then!”
Suddenly, Hu Ming stopped moving, a strange smile spreading across his face.
"What?"
The two were taken aback, not understanding for a moment.
"See for yourselves."
Hu Ming didn't keep them in suspense any longer and simply pulled out the cement cone.
Tick tock, tick tock.
As Hu Ming moved, it seemed that liquid was being flung out from the end of the stone cone, dripping onto the ground.
"This is...fresh blood? How is that possible? This place was sealed off nearly half a century ago, and no one has visited it at all in all these years!"
Wu Xie and Xiao Hua's expressions immediately changed. Xiao Hua's eyes were filled with surprise and doubt, and she couldn't help but gasp softly.
What had fallen to the ground was clearly viscous blood plasma.
Its color was as bright as fire, and the strong, pungent smell of blood instantly filled the three men's noses. This stuff looked exactly like fresh blood that had just gushed from an artery!
"It's a blood zombie?"
Wu Xie frowned deeply, recalling his past experiences, and made a thoughtful guess.
"It's hard to say. I didn't hear anything. If there were blood corpses, there would be no way they could hide from my hearing."
"Strictly speaking, a blood corpse is a special life form. It is a living corpse that breathes and has a heartbeat, but I did not hear any sounds of life activity from deep within the stone wall."
Hu Ming flicked away the stone awl, wiped the blood off his hands, and clicked his tongue lightly.
He didn't hear any sounds of life, but deep within the stone wall, in a hidden cavity, Hu Ming clearly heard a strange friction sound.
That sound was just like a hair that had its own life!
"At the very least, we can confirm that this is indeed human blood, because for some reason that is not yet clear, fresh blood is constantly seeping out from deep within the stone wall."
"Tsk, this is hardly good news."
Xiao Hua placed her finger on the hole that Hu Ming had dug in the wall, and within ten seconds she caught a handful of thick, fishy-smelling bright red snow sauce. After careful examination, she drew a conclusion.
"This was expected, but how could it be so simple here?"
Hu Ming didn't take it seriously. What strange and bizarre things hadn't he seen over the years?
A mere speck of bleeding could scare him? Don't be ridiculous!
This is the deepest part of the cave. Except for the exit, the entire area is sealed off with black and red cement, and looking around, there is absolutely no passageway to be found.
Clearly, when this place was sealed off back then, the things inside terrified the people outside, who were afraid that they would escape.
"This is troublesome. We have to manually excavate a passage, but the strength of military-grade cement is incredibly high. This is going to be a very tiring and difficult task."
Hu Ming sighed helplessly.
"Before coming, based on Grandma Huo's information, I considered this situation and specially prepared professional excavation tools..."
"Uncle Ming, would you like a set? I think your treasured sword is much better than what I prepared. It truly deserves to be called a treasured sword that can rival your black gold ancient sword."
As they were talking, Xiaohua quietly brought in three sets of professional excavation tools from outside.
Hammers, chisels, and other tools are all specially crafted from special alloys, representing the pinnacle of human industrial achievement in terms of hardness.
However, Xiaohua could see clearly that these things were probably not as useful as the precious sword in Hu Ming's hand.
"Enough with the nonsense! My knife is for cutting people, not for using as a hammer or chisel!"
Hu Ming rolled his eyes and snorted.
Although he wasn't the kind of swordsman who had nothing but his sword, shouldn't he at least take good care of his beloved blade?
Using a sledgehammer to crack a nut isn't a good idea, is it?
The searchlight illuminated the dark cave, and the three men, wearing vests and holding hammers and chisels, worked hard to carve out the cave.
A dull sound echoed through the cave.
Suddenly, Hu Ming smashed open a piece of gravel in the cement, revealing a section of yellowish, withered bone!
The three exchanged a glance, disregarding their exhaustion, and decisively increased their speed.
After chiseling away the nearby cement, a skeleton was revealed.
It was a completely rotten but not yet fully decomposed body; the skull and a section of an arm had already been unearthed.
The bones were yellowed, and with a light tap, they crumbled into dust.
What's truly chilling is that the surface of the bone is covered with countless dense, black, hair-like things, making one's spine tingle.
Putting on gloves, Hu Ming grabbed the black hair and pulled it down forcefully.
This thing may look as thin and delicate as a hair, but it's incredibly resilient!
Hu Ming used 30% of his strength, but still couldn't break the thing.
After thinking for a moment, Hu Ming simply clenched his fist and smashed the fragile bone into pieces with one punch.
"This thing is actually rooted in the bone marrow!"
"No wonder the bones are so fragile; they shatter with the slightest tap."
Among the yellowish bone fragments, Wu Xie and Xiao Hua could clearly see that these black hairs were growing from the bone marrow deep within the bones.
The bone was riddled with countless white wounds, and there were countless tiny holes everywhere.
