Chapter 704 Trouble
Hearing Tang Wan say this, Tang Bojun felt relieved and said with a smile, "Since our daughter has a plan, then we won't worry about it. Wan'er, do you have any plans for this jar of wine?"

"This jar was specially given to us by Young Master Yu for us to taste! There are no other plans. Father can drink it whenever he wants," Tang Wan said generously.

"In that case, I'll invite my senior brother over for a few drinks tomorrow, so he can envy me for having such a good daughter!" Tang Bojun's main reason for wanting to show off his good wine was to flaunt it.

Although we have no worries about food and drink in the northern desert, we don't know when we can return to Beijing.

These days, I just take some time each day to go up the mountain to check on the peach harvest.

I'm pretty bored at other times, so I've been going to chat with my senior whenever I have time lately.

The wine came at just the right time. Just chatting is rather boring; having some wine makes for a better conversation.

Tang Wan naturally had no objections and agreed, saying, "Father can invite whomever he wants to taste. You decide what kind of wine it is. Once it's mass-produced, we can drink it whenever we want."

"Hahaha! Great!" Tang Bojun laughed, in an exceptionally good mood.

To be honest, apart from the arduous journey from Beijing to the northern desert, I didn't suffer any real hardship once I arrived in the north. Although life wasn't as good as before, it was still manageable.

Even though life was manageable, the mental pressure was still considerable. After all, the exile had been inexplicable, and several of his colleagues had been in the same situation. While there was no sense of panic, there was still some underlying anxiety.

Fortunately, my daughter told me later that I could return to Beijing, which relieved a lot of the pressure in my heart.

Now that he has hope for the future and his life is getting better and better, how could he not be happy?

Seeing her father so happy and her mother smiling beside him, Tang Wan realized that life was getting better and better. This was exactly the goal she had always strived for—to become rich and live a peaceful and happy life with her family.

Just as Tang Wan and her family were having a happy time, Zhan Wang encountered a small problem.

The War King felt that Er Ya was a bit of a waste to have her in his care. He was currently facing a tricky problem and wanted to persuade Er Ya to help him gather information.

Although Er Ya was a little afraid of the War King, she listened to her master more, so she directly refused: "Your Highness, my master sent me here to protect you, and also to keep in touch with her in case of special circumstances! So I can't be too far away from you."

“But I need you to gather information for me now.” The War King looked at Er Ya with a serious expression and a gentle tone. “I know your background. If you go to gather information, it will be foolproof, and the accuracy of the information will be beyond doubt!”

But no matter what the War King said, Er Ya just wouldn't agree to go too far away from him.

The War King couldn't persuade Er Ya, but he still wanted her to gather information. After thinking for a moment, he said to Er Ya, "Then ask your master if she agrees to let you go and gather information for me."

Er Ya thought it made sense, so she agreed.

So, as soon as Tang Wan came out of the main house, she heard Er Ya calling her.

“Master, the War King asked me to gather information, but you told me to protect him, so I didn’t agree.” Er Ya explained the situation to Tang Wan as soon as she arrived.

Tang Wan didn't say anything when she heard Er Ya say that, but praised her, "Er Ya is the best!"

Er Ya smiled slightly upon hearing Tang Wan's praise and continued, "But the War King asked me to ask my master if he would agree to let me go and gather information."

Tang Wan smiled and replied, "Then of course I agree." Sending Er Ya to the Southern Desert was to help the War King.

He needs it now, so naturally I have no objection.

"Huh?" Er Ya was a little surprised. "Wasn't it said that we were to protect the War King?"

“Yes! Your main task is to protect the War King, but you can help him if he needs it! There’s no conflict!” Tang Wan explained to Er Ya little by little. Afraid that Er Ya would overthink it, Tang Wan continued, “Of course, if you don’t want to help him, you can refuse directly. It’s up to you. But you still need to protect the War King’s safety, especially when he goes to the battlefield.”

"Oh, I see. I understand now!" Er Ya was an obedient child, and upon hearing Tang Wan's words, she immediately said she understood.

"By the way, is there anything unusual in the Southern Desert? Have you encountered any evil cultivators or anything like that?" Tang Wan asked anxiously.

"No, I haven't heard of any," Er Ya replied honestly.

Seeing that the topic was about to end, Tang Wan quickly asked Er Ya, "How's the war going lately? Is there still no progress?"

"Yes, it's still the same. No one from the Southern Desert is willing to fight." Er Ya told Tang Wan what she knew.

Hearing Er Ya say this, Tang Wan became a little worried that the War King was overthinking things and not taking care of his health: "Has the War King been eating properly?"

"Yes, I think so!" Er Ya thought for a moment and continued, "Every day, the lieutenants go to the War King for meals!"

Er Ya could only tell her master what she saw; she hadn't actually been watching whether the War King was eating properly.

"Alright, if the War King needs you, and you feel capable, you can go and help him, but be careful about your safety!" Tang Wan instructed worriedly.

Er Ya smiled and said after hearing Tang Wan's instructions, "I know, Master! I will be careful!"

After hanging up, Er Ya went to Zhan Wang to tell him that her master was willing to let her help and that she could go immediately.

The War King felt a little unfamiliar with Er Ya's energetic demeanor, but he didn't pay much attention to it.

He first explained the situation to Er Ya: "We've been challenging them to battle every day, but the Southern Desert hasn't responded. A direct assault would be too risky, so I wanted to send someone to investigate, but all the people I sent to gather information have disappeared."

Er Ya listened quietly, waiting for the War King to assign tasks.

The War King paused for a moment, then continued, "I know your situation. If you go and investigate, you will surely gain something."

“Okay, let’s go now!” Er Ya replied readily.

"Wait, let's go tonight!" The War King took out the city map of Haiyue City in the Southern Desert and gestured for Er Ya to come over. "This is the city wall of Haiyue City, but the Southern Desert army is stationed here. Your main responsibility is to find the High Priest of the Southern Desert and see what he is up to. I have received news that he has already arrived."

This is also something he is very wary of.

The things that this high priest did back then still make people shudder.

Upon hearing the War King's explicit request, Er Ya replied, "Okay, then I'll go out first and go back when it gets dark!"

Although most people can't see her during the day, since the War King has said so, let's do it at night.

Bad guys probably do things at night.

Finally, night fell, and Er Ya left the camp, heading quickly towards Haiyue City.

When she doesn't want anyone to see her, she reverts to her spiritual form. Wherever she goes, unless a master of the mystical arts might notice something unusual, generally no one will notice.
