Chapter 811 Compromise
After hanging up the bell with Boss Wan, Tang Wan had recovered her strength and went upstairs to busy herself with the preparation and bottling of cosmetics.

Only after all the jars she had brought into her space were used up and the cosmetics were neatly arranged did Tang Wan finally let out a long sigh of relief. She rubbed her sore wrists and brows and muttered to herself, "Finally finished all of this."

He flashed out of the space; it was already getting late.

She straightened her clothes, pushed open the door, and went out.

Wang Da was chopping wood in the front yard when he saw her come out. He immediately put down his axe and said, "Master."

Tang Wan nodded slightly and said, "Yes, you're back? Go and get ready, and take me home in a quarter of an hour."

When Tang Wan was brought back earlier, she finished tidying up the porcelain and then sent Wang Da off to ask questions and study. She didn't notice when he came back.

"Yes." Although Wang Da didn't know where the master's house was, he didn't ask any more questions and immediately went to hitch up the carriage.

Tang Wan went to the backyard warehouse alone and put the harvested crops into it.

After placing the objects and setting up the formation, Tang Wan returned to the front yard.

Tang Wan told Wang Da the approximate location of the Tang family home, then lifted the curtain and got into the carriage.

Although Wang Da was somewhat surprised, he didn't ask anything.

Regardless of where the host lives, the fact that the host allowed me to deliver this today shows their trust in me.

Inside the carriage, Tang Wan leaned against the wall, closing her eyes to rest.

The reason she specifically asked Wang Da to deliver it today was to let him know what her family's situation was.

Wang Da was a servant who had signed a life-or-death contract with her. Whether he stayed in Mobei to guard the mansion or followed her to the capital, he would need to have a deeper understanding of his family's situation.

With her return date fast approaching, she intended to let Wang Da have more contact with and learn more about the Tang family.

As the carriage drove out of the city, Tang Wan lifted a corner of the curtain to give Wang Da directions.

Following Tang Wan's instructions, Wang Da drove the car steadily.

The carriage drove on for a while longer, and Wang Da saw scattered courtyards at the foot of the mountain, cultivated fields on the hillside, and a large woodland. The scene before him surprised Wang Da.

In his memory, this place should have been a barren mountain, but the scene before him was real, and he even doubted whether his previous memory was wrong.

Tang Wan didn't notice his surprise and said to Wang Dadao, who was driving, "That's the place with blue bricks and black tiles and two stone lions at the entrance."

Wang Da looked in the direction she pointed and replied, "I've got it."

The carriage stopped at the Tang residence. Tang Wan got out of the carriage and said to Wang Dadao, "Thank you for your hard work today. You'll need to help them carry the jars inside later."

"Yes, Master!" Wang Da replied respectfully.

Tang Wan said to the disciples who came to greet her, "Take Wang Da and move the cans from the cart to the room separated on the east side of the workshop in the backyard."

The disciple responded.

Tang Wan then instructed Wang Dadao, "After you put your things down, hurry back to the city. There's no need to report back."

It was already late when they came out, and it wasn't safe outside the city at night.

Wang Da agreed, and Tang Wan turned and went into the courtyard.

The servants helped Wang Da park the carriage, and the two greeted each other before starting their work.

Tang Wan ignored all of this and went back to her room to change and wash up before heading to the main house to pay her respects to her parents.

Tang Bojun and Madam Wang were talking inside when Tang Wan entered, and they both smiled warmly. "Father, Mother," Tang Wan greeted them and sat down.

Looking at Tang Wan, Madam Wang asked with a smile and concern, "Wan'er, you're back from the prefecture? Did everything go smoothly?"

Tang Wan smiled slightly and replied, "Reporting to Mother, I went today mainly to check on the custom-made porcelain vases. They have just been delivered back, and there are no issues with the quantity or quality."

Tang Wan paused for a moment, then added, "With this batch of porcelain bottles, the rouge shop will have enough stock for the next few months."

Tang Bojun nodded upon hearing this: "Yes, you've arranged this matter properly."

Wang held Tang Wan's hand and patted it gently, saying softly, "It is indeed well arranged, but you have a lot to do in such a short time. It's okay if you can't prepare that much face cream, rouge and powder. Don't overwork yourself."

Tang Wan looked at her stepmother, Madam Wang, with gratitude. Sometimes she felt that Madam Wang was just like her own mother.

Wang Shi fits her ideal of all mothers: kind and caring.

No one in the family mentioned her biological mother, and Tang Wan never asked. She began to feel that this was not her place, and that she would have to go back sooner or later. Before she could even integrate into this family, she was exiled.

Later, I was busy with various things and didn't have the time or inclination to ask about my biological mother.

Putting aside her complicated thoughts, Tang Wan smiled slightly at Madam Wang and reassured her, "Mother, I will take care of myself and won't get tired, so please don't worry."

Wang hesitated, as if she wanted to say something but couldn't. How could she possibly feel at ease?

After arriving in the northern desert, this second daughter has been taking care of everything for the family, working hard both mentally and physically.

If it weren't for her capable daughter, she wouldn't know what the family's situation would be like now, and she might not even be able to pull through.

The second daughter has looked a bit tired lately, but she knows that there are many things at home that she needs to handle or do herself. With the time running out, she is really worried that her body won't be able to keep up.

Tang Wan noticed Wang's worry, gently squeezed her mother's hand, and whispered, "I'm really alright, Mother, don't worry."

Madam Wang sighed, "Alright! You're an adult now, I won't nag you anymore. Just take good care of yourself."

"Don't worry, Mother, I understand!" Tang Wan replied with a smile.

Tang Wan paused for a moment, then continued, "There's one more thing. Boss Wan is reluctant to close the fortune-telling shop, so he suggested that we stop accepting fortune-telling commissions and only sell talismans and feng shui ornaments. I thought that would be feasible, so I agreed."

However, as soon as she said it, Tang Wan herself was slightly taken aback.

She suddenly realized something: talismans could be drawn directly in space, since both yellow paper and cinnabar were available.

However, those feng shui ornaments are ready-made items that you buy yourself, then you draw talismans on them, consecrate them, and nourish them with spiritual power in order for them to be effective.

Otherwise, it's just an inanimate object and cannot nourish the feng shui.

It looks like I'll have to go to the prefectural capital again tomorrow, since I won't be leaving for long and the ornament needs the nourishment of the spiritual energy of the space.

However, it seems there are still some items that were made beforehand but not put in the shop, since only a minority of people need feng shui ornaments.

Tang Bojun's voice interrupted Tang Wan's thoughts: "Oh? That's a compromise. Boss Wan is quite sentimental."

Madam Wang smiled and nodded, saying, "That's fine too."

Following her parents' words, Tang Wan replied, "Yes, in this way, the business in Mobei is basically settled."

Tang Wan chatted with her parents for a while longer before getting up to take her leave. She planned to go to the back to get the porcelain and put it into her space so that she could make cosmetics whenever she wanted.
