Chapter 11 Restaurant
Although the original owner was only a teenager, he was considered a minor on Earth and even among interstellar people, he was considered an immature child.

However, perhaps due to ample nutrition and optimized genes in interstellar space, the average height of people is relatively high, even among minors.

The original owner of this body was only fifteen years old, but she already possessed a height far exceeding that of Jiang Hui in her previous life. However, this minor appeared extremely small and pitiful next to a large group of tall and capable adults.

She subtly shrank to the edge, but the space was so small that the feeling of sharing a room with others was still very strong. She couldn't help but minimize her presence.

But as the elevator stopped at each floor, after standing there for a while, Jiang Hui suddenly remembered something: she seemed to have forgotten to press the floor button.

Fortunately, although the people were standing close together, there was still a gap that allowed her to see the display screen. However, the display was so complicated that Jiang Hui didn't know how to distinguish it, let alone call a stop for the floor.

What can Jiang Hui do right now? She can only rummage through the nooks and crannies of her memory for relevant common sense, hoping to find a solution.

She didn't realize that she had been getting closer and closer along the gap, and several adults next to her even made some space for her.

"Are you going to dine on the 27th floor? No need to call it off, someone has already marked it, it will stop normally in a while," someone suddenly asked.

The accent sounded strangely familiar. Jiang Hui subconsciously turned her head and saw a tall young man smiling at her. She then realized that the man was talking to her.

The restaurant reserved for patients with mild symptoms is on the 27th floor. Jiang Hui was somewhat surprised that the other party knew where she was going.

The young man found it somewhat amusing. This child, barely reaching his chest, was wearing the distinctive blue uniform of the intensive care unit, looking around with a curious expression, and deliberately avoiding adults. He guessed the child was a minor traveling alone. At this hour, taking the elevator was most likely for a meal; there was a dedicated restaurant on the 27th floor—quite easy to guess.

The child's attempt at maturity is just a little too cute.

Interstellar people are generally very caring and tolerant towards underage children. Although the adults in the elevator seemed to be doing their own thing, they were all paying attention to the little one hiding in the corner. It was someone kind enough to stop the elevator from going up to the 27th floor. However, the child seemed rather introverted and frightened, so they wisely refrained from scaring her.

"Hmm? Hmm, it seems so." Jiang Hui tried hard to make out the marked floor and found that someone had indeed pressed it, then breathed a sigh of relief.

"Thank you so much." Jiang Hui replied repeatedly, thinking of the help she had received.

"Look, we're here. Just walk a little further and you'll see the sign. I heard the Firebird Pancakes on the 27th floor are pretty good, you might want to try them..."

Jiang Hui nodded in agreement and stepped out of the elevator somewhat awkwardly under the gaze of everyone.

The interstellar people seem...not bad either.

The girl went inside the restaurant marked as the "Mild Case Zone".

Although it's a hospital cafeteria, the environment and service model seem quite good. It's clean and bright, with small tables and chairs, giving it a rather refined feel. It's more like a lounge area than a hospital restaurant. After the elevator incident, Jiang Hui's sense of distance from interstellar people and unfamiliar surroundings has lessened considerably, and she moves around much more freely.

However, she now faces a new problem: the restaurant uses a self-service ordering system, and the entire process is almost entirely automated. The restaurant's automated ordering system is a relatively unfamiliar part of her original memories.

Unable to get any guidance, Jiang Hui could only dawdle and pretend to be casual when choosing dishes. Then, once there were people in front of her, she would follow them and start doing what they were doing.

No wonder I couldn't find the option I was trying to select earlier; it turns out this is an all-in-one automatic food selection machine, and you have to select from beginning to end.

She followed the example of the people in front of her, swiping the barcode-like tag on her wrist on the strange machine at the very end, and then selecting items one by one.

She took the cutlery, bread, candy, and water in order before starting to choose her food. To be honest, there were too many strange ingredients on the screen. Not only could she not tell what they were from their names, but the cooking methods were also strange, making it really hard to bring herself to eat them.

For example, "Banana Salad with Fried White Scales"—what is that? Not only does it sound unappetizing, but it also doesn't seem like a good combination. Then there's "Bread with Screws and Rice Noodles"—ugh, who is this supposed to disgust? Just the name alone, regardless of what it actually is, makes me not want to eat it. And then there's "Yellow Honey Fruit Stewed with Fern Dumplings"—emmm, that sounds slightly more normal, but it's still completely unimaginable.

Jiang Hui had completely lost her appetite after looking at the first two rows. But there were people waiting behind her, and she couldn't get her card without taking it, so she had no choice but to grit her teeth and look at a few more rows.

Thankfully, a normal option finally appeared in the fifth line, which happened to be the "Firebird Pancake" that someone had suggested she try earlier. Jiang Hui, of course, didn't make any other choice and selected this one, since it sounded like a standard option. She randomly selected options after that, and by the time she finally came out, she was covered in sweat.

I'm sweating bullets! I never imagined choosing a meal would be so difficult. Life isn't easy for people in the future either.

"What kind of dishes are these today? They're so weird." Then Jiang Hui heard the people behind her who were choosing their food also complaining.

Jiang Hui: ...It seems there are creative cafeteria styles everywhere. These dishes are probably unacceptable even to interstellar people themselves.

She picked up her food and found a small table to sit at alone, ready to enjoy the interstellar cuisine. She was also quite interested in the dishes recommended by the young man in the elevator.

Because everything is extracted from machines, the food is tightly wrapped, and the packaging has a high-quality feel. The material is a light and soft material that Jiang Hui has never seen before. The material has high support and does not feel flimsy, but it also feels easy to tear.

Jiang Hui was slightly intrigued and then unwrapped the packaging. At this time, the restaurant gradually filled up, and people began to come to the quiet corner she had specifically chosen.

The so-called Firebird Pancake is similar to a chicken pancake roll, but the preparation is slightly different. The pancake seems to have been scalded on both sides, making it crispy, while the chicken inside is very tender and flavorful. The accompanying side dish, Jiang Hui, is hard to describe precisely, but it has a rich texture. One bite is a taste that Jiang Hui rarely finds even on Earth, and everything is just right.

Is this what interstellar cuisine is like? It's truly enviable. Well, if civilization hasn't experienced a break in its development, wouldn't it be natural for cuisine to evolve along with technology?
