Chapter 18 Compensation
What is Jiang Hui's attitude...?

What other attitude could she have? She had no idea how to react to the other party.

Because the real victim in this incident is no longer able to speak out, she may never have the chance to do so again.

Jiang Hui was feeling conflicted and didn't know what to say.

However, the person on the other end was clearly unaware of her thoughts. Seeing that she wasn't moving or speaking, they assumed there was a connection or something else, and their tone became somewhat anxious: "Ms. Jiang... Ms. Jiang! Are you still listening? If it's inconvenient for you, I can..."

"Hello, I'm listening. If you have anything to say, you can say it here. There's no need to come all the way here. I haven't been feeling well lately, so I might not be able to receive guests." Jiang Hui organized her thoughts and finally chose a more polite approach.

She glanced around and saw that there seemed to be no one around. The area was quite quiet, so she decided not to go any further. Instead, she found a pavilion where passersby could rest and sat down, intending to have a proper talk with the man who claimed to be an employee from the Hailusi Group.

However, her polite words, though intended to be polite, sounded like a sharp rejection to others.

They had already received news from the hospital that Jiang Hui had recovered and been discharged on her own, and seemed to be in good condition. Her refusal to visit him, and her deliberate mention of feeling unwell during the conversation, was essentially a reminder that she was entirely a victim in this situation.

The problem is that the other party has already left him speechless with just this one bargaining chip. This is a responsibility that the Hailusi Group cannot shirk; regardless of the final outcome, they will need to provide this client with adequate compensation.

This customer was indeed very angry. No wonder the senior staff in the after-sales department were unwilling to come, but instead brought in this young junior. Perhaps they were pushing him out to test the waters?

Andy seemed to have already foreseen the ensuing process—it wouldn't be a beating, a cutoff of communication, followed by being turned away at the door after several visits, only to reluctantly accept compensation after several attempts. The other party would definitely reach a settlement under the company's sweet talk… and perhaps in the end, he would be the only one hurt.

Thinking of this, Andy, who had only recently joined the Hailusi Group, couldn't help but feel a little discouraged.

However, he still wanted to put up a fight; he couldn't afford to give up here, as his career was far from over.

The other person might still be angry, and a physical visit might only make them more emotional. It's better to try persuading her once and for all via a virtual machine.

So the young man mustered his courage and said to the girl on the other end of the screen, "Ms. Jiang, we are very sorry that our company's product caused you a bad experience. We are truly sorry. Now that it has happened, no amount of words can make up for the harm you have suffered. We really want to make amends. Therefore, we have set up a special team to follow up and provide you with a full compensation plan..."

It was a pretty bad experience—or rather, quite bad, Jiang Hui thought to herself. After all, based on current speculation, the poor original owner of this body was sent away in this way.

Moreover, according to Mr. Carles and Pharmacist Xu Jia, their products have had quality problems more than once or twice. This time, it directly endangered her life, and she has the right to pursue legal action to hold them accountable.

Because of all this, she couldn't possibly have a good impression or attitude towards the Hailusi Group. She didn't treat Andy badly because she knew Andy was just an employee, and taking her anger out on them was completely pointless; the real beneficiary, the tycoon, would continue to live a life of luxury as before.

Don't end up feeling uncomfortable and resentful while the other party remains unaffected. Jiang Hui has always been a pragmatic person, never dwelling on meaningless things from the past. Since compensation is involved, she's very clear about what she wants. Besides material and physical compensation for the original owner, she needs justice. Even though it may no longer have any real meaning for the original owner... it still has to be done.

So let's put it aside for now and listen to the other party's so-called compensation plan to see if they are truly sincere.

The compensation plan had already been prepared. Although the top-notch after-sales team was reluctant to come, Hailusi valued appeasing Jiang Hui highly and was determined to succeed. Before coming, the after-sales team had prepared several progressive plans for Andy, the vanguard, to facilitate his negotiations.

First, propose a bottom-line solution, then add more options, with the final one being the optimal solution. Of course, the after-sales team didn't have high hopes, so these three compensation plans are just initial drafts for now. The higher-ups said they could discuss it further, and as long as the other party forgives them and doesn't cause trouble, spending more money is fine.

After all, the Hailusi Group has plenty of money, but the consumer protection laws in the interstellar world are too strict—they dare not break the law.

Of course, they are genuinely sincere; after all, when you open your door to do business, you're always there for your customers.

Seeing that the other person didn't interrupt him, Andy felt a little relieved, knowing that she was willing to listen to him. Andy was overjoyed and quickly struck while the iron was hot, speaking in a loud and clear voice, afraid that she wouldn't understand.

As he was getting into the conversation, he noticed the girl slightly frowning. Her expression wasn't bad, but it was subtle and carried a hint of pressure, making him feel a little hesitant to back down.

Ironically, even at his worst, he only lacked decision-making power over his seniors in the workplace. Even as a newbie, he was still a recent graduate who had entered the Hailusi Group on his own merits and had already completed his awakening. Yet, he felt a sense of fear towards a teenager who had not yet awakened.

At that moment, Andy truly felt like a failure.

He then guessed that the other party's mental strength should be at a high level. Even if such a person has not fully awakened and settled, he would still have stronger power than ordinary people in all aspects.

Anyway, he's just an ordinary C-level person, working in a low-risk sales and service industry, so he's not embarrassed about not being able to withstand the other party's pressure.

He's got a job in the after-sales department right after graduation, a department known for its seasoned veterans, which speaks volumes about his abilities. Other things might not be immediately apparent due to his youth, but his adaptability and resourcefulness are undeniable.

He didn't show the embarrassment one might expect from a newcomer, and asked with a natural and concerned expression, "I wonder if Ms. Jiang is satisfied with this compensation plan? We are truly sincere in wanting to..."

"Excuse my bluntness, but do you think I'm a fool? Or do you think I'm a minor and don't have a guardian with me, so you can just fool me?" Ms. Jiang, who had been silent since he started speaking, said with a furrowed brow.

Upon hearing this, Andy's heart sank.
