Chapter 28 Strange Space (Part 1)
This is absurd—

But Jiang Hui didn't realize that deep down she had already begun to believe it.

She looked at the screen and then at the test tube, and then tentatively thought that there should be another label on the test tube, white with a red border, with two lines of interstellar terminology she couldn't understand.

Sure enough, the test tube changed again. A sticker with a white background and a red border appeared on the front of the test tube, right in front of her. It looked quite professional, though it seemed a bit wider than the one she remembered, and the text was blurry and the details were illegible.

As I thought this, the edges and the text in the middle of the sticker began to blur, as if it wanted to change but didn't know how.

She looked at the screen again, and sure enough, a third line of code appeared.

Modify template, modify appearance, two layers of stickers... shape... font is blurry and unrecognizable... currently checking data... proofreading and changing... main brain consciousness interference... cannot recognize, cannot recognize... three modeling steps completed.

Jiang Hui suddenly looked back at the test tube in her hand and saw that the label on the test tube had been slightly adjusted. It was a little narrower than before, but the blurry words in the middle had been changed into a clear line of text: "Mental Stabilizer," but in Blue Star's font.

Indeed, she had been thinking that the terminology on the label of the interstellar mental stabilizer was too complicated, and she hadn't quite memorized it after just a glance. She could barely memorize it completely now, but it felt a bit strenuous, and it was also tiring to look at. So she decided to change it and came up with a label in Chinese and Korean. And sure enough, it was reflected on this label.

An interstellar artifact paired with the characters of the Chinese dynasty—it's really quite strange.

But this impossible combination stirred something in Jiang Hui's mind, and her thoughts became clearer and clearer.

Could she be in this place where she can have whatever she wants, and the medium for achieving this is this computer?

A space where wishes seem to come true.

Jiang Hui's mind cleared up immediately, and she began to seriously consider where she was.

Where is this? Is it really the afterlife she envisioned? Or did she not actually die a second time, and suppose she is still in the interstellar world... then where is this place?
Could this be her consciousness space?
Jiang Hui's mind was vaguely stuck.

Moreover, after that strange experiment, although she was quite curious, she inexplicably felt a sense of fatigue, both physically and mentally. Suddenly, she didn't want to do anything anymore, as if her body had been drained.

She put down the test tube, slumped in her office chair, and tilted her head back, trying to relieve the sudden wave of weariness.

She was so tired.

Time passed slowly, and the whole room became quiet. The clock on the wall ticked away, signifying that time was still flowing by.

The only sound in the room was someone's even breathing—she was asleep.

When I woke up again...

As if startled from a dream, the girl leaned back, her center of gravity shifting, and the elastic back of the office chair nearly caused her to lose her balance and fall over.

The person was still a bit groggy from sleep and only managed to avoid falling flat on their face thanks to instinct, though they didn't fully wake up until later.

"Ugh, why am I still here after waking up?" Jiang Hui felt that her previous guesses were about to be overturned again. If this was a dream she had in the interstellar world, she probably wouldn't be here after waking up. After all, she had never heard of a dream that could be so realistic, nor had she ever heard of a dream where you could have a nightmare within a dream... Just now, she vaguely had a short nightmare while she was falling asleep, which is why she was suddenly startled awake.

Unable to sleep any longer, Jiang Hui resigned herself to sitting up and began wandering around the house once again.

As usual, she walked to the door and opened it. Good, but it still wouldn't open.

She didn't dwell on it too much, because it was already within her expectations.

Abandoning the position at the entrance, Jiang Hui quickly turned back into the house.

Her family's house is a typical large three-bedroom apartment. When her parents bought it, they specifically chose a large one, which almost used up all their savings over the years and even incurred additional debt.

The living room in the middle was quite large and had a balcony, but the balcony area had been sealed off by the mutated computer, so she couldn't get out.

The three rooms are located on either side of the hall, and there is also a corner where the kitchen and dining area are situated.

Jiang Hui originally lived in the medium-sized room, while the other two were originally the master bedroom and the study.

After she started working, she chose to move to her former master bedroom, keeping the study and leaving the other room vacant.

She first went to the master bedroom to take a look. Most things were the same, but many things were cleaner than she remembered, with less clutter. The bedding on the bed was the same set she remembered, a dark three-piece set that she had just bought a few days ago and changed, and hadn't been used for more than a few days. The skincare and makeup products on the dressing table were arranged exactly as they had always been, and the family photo on the bedside table was as bright as ever... It seemed that nothing had changed.

Then I went to the only window in the room and pulled back the curtains. Sure enough, it was pitch black outside, really pitch black, and I couldn't see anything. The window couldn't be opened from the inside either.

Jiang Hui sighed silently, the last glimmer of hope in her heart shattered. So this was ultimately not her home on Earth, even if it resembled it, it was clearly not—

She quickly compared the items in the master bedroom, but didn't find anything particularly different, so she returned to the living room.

The living room was exactly as she knew it: kitchen, dining table, coffee table, TV… except for the mutated computer on the floor-to-ceiling window, there wasn't much difference. She even tried to turn on the TV, but of course, she couldn't.

The kitchen was just like that, with some ready-to-eat foods and snacks in the cabinets, some fresh vegetables in the refrigerator, and even the ice cream in the freezer compartment looked so sweet, as if everything were real.

After finishing her investigation on this side, she strolled to the other side.

Actually, there wasn't much to see on the other side either. One was an empty room that was practically a storage room, and the other was a study filled with all sorts of books that Jiang Hui loved.

However, upon opening it this time, she discovered some problems. She had been a voracious reader since childhood, and even though she didn't choose to pursue a career in literature due to practical considerations, she still harbored her own literary world and read extensively in her daily life.

This room houses a collection of books she has read and cherished at every stage of her life; she couldn't bear to part with a single one. As new books have been added over the years, she often comes here to browse through them. Therefore, this room is arguably the place she uses most frequently besides her bedroom.

However, when she entered this time, she found that the study was different.
