Chapter 35 Appointment
Early in the morning, Jiang Hui was lying in bed when she suddenly opened her eyes.

The blankets and pillows on the bed were kicked to haphazard places overnight, creating a chaotic scene.

The new leather book I received yesterday slid off its silky cover onto the floor, the edges already slightly roughened from being turned over, though not very noticeably.

Please don't misunderstand, Jiang Hui didn't mean to treat the original owner of this body and her father's belongings carelessly. She really went through them many times to get to this point, because she hadn't slept all night again.

The night was long, and naturally, she had almost worn the book out of use.

Perhaps due to the development of mental power in interstellar space, she felt her memory and imagination were better than ever before. After reading it several times, she actually managed to understand the entire book. Jiang Hui swore that even if someone randomly selected a passage to test her now, she could probably answer it.

But the problem is that Jiang Hui doesn't want this at all; she wants to sleep more.

Last night was another sleepless night.

Jiang Hui was unsure what had happened to her, and even suspected it might be a side effect of taking a mental stabilizer. She searched the forum last night, but unfortunately, no one mentioned this side effect.

She didn't understand the situation and didn't want to call the hospital in the middle of the night, since it wasn't really a serious problem for her.

Out of desperation, she resorted to flipping through books to pass the time, hoping to hypnotize herself into a daze. However, the more she read, the more energetic and excited she became, until her head was spinning. She wouldn't stop until she had memorized everything.

Even when it was already dawn outside, Mr. Jiang still couldn't fall asleep.

But as the saying goes, practice makes perfect. You'll get used to it; once you've done it the first time, the second time won't be surprising.

She calmly sat up in bed, enjoying the sunlight streaming through the window. Surprisingly, she felt quite refreshed, and the tension she had felt all night began to ease.

"Okay, it's fine. It's just insomnia, what's the big deal?" Jiang Hui thought to herself.

Today, Jiang Hui was already quite familiar with the place as she walked around, and had adapted to various things that were different from those on Earth.

She even learned how to brew a StarCraft version of coffee. This is a drink she learned about yesterday from the Life Module, called Douzhi... StarCraft language should translate to Earth language correctly.

It is said to have mutated from the original coffee bean species and belongs to a type of spice bean. It has the same effects as coffee, not only refreshing the mind but also having a caffeine content close to zero.

With bread and coffee, Jiang Hui began her usual day of studying.

She first checked if anyone had contacted her via her personal terminal, and then looked at the news pushed to her by the personal terminal's headlines.

Only then did they look up the contact information for the district's secondary hospital and call the post-treatment recovery department to inquire about her insomnia.

The person at the hospital who answered the phone was very nice. They were attentive, patient, and explained things in detail. However, they also told Jiang Hui that the tranquilizer did not cause any side effects like insomnia.

Furthermore, because the brains of interstellar beings are generally in a relatively stable state, insomnia is rare. Therefore, Jiang Hui's insomnia is indeed unusual. So, after carefully reviewing her medical records and analyzing the medications and dosages she took, the staff at the post-treatment recovery department concluded that her abnormality was likely caused by damage to her brain.

Although she has recovered, some residual mental excitement remains in her brain, which is causing her insomnia. It shouldn't be a serious problem. If Jiang Hui is still concerned, her follow-up appointment is in about four days, at which time she can undergo a round of examinations to see if she has fully recovered.

With the hospital's response, Jiang Huixin felt much more at ease, though a lingering doubt remained, as she felt the crux of the problem lay elsewhere. Unfortunately, she had no other answers in mind, so she could only let it go.

Some things like to cluster together; if one thing doesn't happen, it doesn't happen at all, but once you start something, a whole bunch of things will come together again.

Jiang Hui had just hung up the call with the district's central hospital when a text message arrived.

This is a short message from Mr. Andy, politely inquiring if she is available at this time, or if they could have a more detailed discussion.

Jiang Hui guessed that the Hailusi Group had released their results. She also wanted to resolve the matter as soon as possible, so she readily agreed. Soon after, a call came in from them.

"Ms. Jiang, how are you today?" Mr. Andy greeted her with his usual beaming smile, and it was a genuinely warm one at that.

Jiang Hui couldn't help but sigh, thinking that he was a very good person, but it was a pity that his personality seemed a little unsuitable for this line of work.

"Hello, Mr. Andy. You seem to be in a good mood today. Did something happen that made you happy?"

"Yes, but this should be good news for Ms. Jiang. I have conveyed your request to the group yesterday, and it has been unanimously approved by the board of directors. The group has promised to accept your compensation plan and wants to sign a contract with you immediately."

Really?

This is indeed good news, but not because she will soon receive compensation; rather, it's good news that this mess has finally been resolved and she no longer has to deal with this heartless group that caused her death.

Moreover, for the original owner of this body, the whole affair was nothing short of a tragedy. How could it possibly be considered good news?
Jiang Hui wasn't in high spirits, but Andy perceived it as composure. This further elevated his opinion of Ms. Jiang.

The other party, probably used to Jiang Hui's extremely indifferent nature, didn't dwell on the issue and continued, "Don't worry, I've already made arrangements. They said your attitude is very firm. The board of directors has also considered it and unanimously approved the matter, so there will be no further obstacles."

"However, we may need you to schedule a time to come to the group to handle some follow-up matters. This includes signing documents such as contracts, compensation agreements, gift agreements, and confidentiality agreements. At that time, the group will arrange for immediate payment to you..."

Andy made thorough arrangements. Although she still needed to make a trip to the Hailusi Group, Andy had consulted her beforehand.

Considering that she didn't want these people to come to the original owner's home and defile this pure place, Jiang Hui decided to go to the Hailusi Group in person.

For reasons unknown, Andy, before ending the call, told Jiang Hui with a rather subtle expression that it would be best to have an experienced interstellar lawyer accompany him.

That's quite insightful. A few thoughts flashed through Jiang Hui's mind, but her expression remained unchanged. She smiled faintly and thanked the other person for the reminder, then ended the conversation.
