Chapter 377 Recovery
Jiang Hui returned to her dormitory alone.

The dormitory area was very quiet; it felt like there were hardly any people there. Most of them were probably still recovering from the chaos of the main mainland area. They walked to the canteen and back to their dorms, and there were hardly any people on the way.

There were still people in the canteen. However, the first floor was unexpectedly closed, and it looked completely empty. The machines that usually provide meals 24 hours a day were all shut down. There was some light coming from the second and third floors, and you could faintly hear people talking upstairs, but it was nowhere near as loud as usual, which showed how desolate it was.

They all wanted to go back to their dorms to tidy up, so they didn't go to the cafeteria for dinner. Instead, they all bought a bunch of instant food from the vending machine downstairs and then went their separate ways.

Jiang Hui's dormitory was quite far away, and it was already very late when she arrived at the dark dormitory. She figured that if she didn't hurry, she would enter the consciousness space on the spot, so she quickly walked through the dark corridor back to her own dormitory.

Upon entering the dormitory, she first cautiously checked the interior to make sure no one was there before locking the door, sitting heavily on the chair in front of the workbench, and sighing with regret.

I'm finally back. I never imagined that just an ordinary weekend would turn out like this. This holiday has been incredibly long... I wonder how long this effect will last.

Although Jiang Hui quite likes holidays, she dislikes this chaotic and meaningless break. While school hours are indeed quite restrictive, she still hopes to return to normal studies as soon as possible.

Of course, her sigh didn't last long, because there were still several things waiting for her to do.

The level of automation here in StarCraft is truly remarkable. Basic cleaning tasks are completely out of the reach of humans; the school provides robots that regularly clean each dormitory. However, personal chores like changing bedding still require individual attention.

After washing up, Jiang Hui changed her bedding, then went to her work desk and put something out of a spatial button.

However, she underestimated the situation inside the spatial button and misunderstood exactly how many points Zhou Xiuwen meant by "one point".

Before she knew it, everything in her spatial storage was released, and books almost as tall as a person instantly filled the spacious workbench. Then the number continued to increase, gushing over her like a torrent, and before she knew it, she was buried under the pile of books, instantly feeling dizzy and disoriented.

These books, of all sizes and with different colored covers, took up a quarter of the room, reaching right to the ceiling.

So many books, so many paper books—Jiang Hui squatted down and picked up a book called "The Seventh New Era Mecha Theory" at his feet. He opened one of the pages and found it full of content, with a lot of technical terms accompanied by detailed explanations... It was clearly not the kind of concept book.

Is this the "basic" book Zhou Xiuwen mentioned? What kind of person is she befriending? Well, how could the son of a head of state not be awesome...? Jiang Hui reminded herself to ignore this point after returning from the Zhou residence, and not to ruin this precious friendship by losing her composure.

However, she later realized that her worries were unnecessary, because even now, she still couldn't equate Zhou Xiuwen with the head of state's son. She simply didn't think Zhou Xiuwen's cheerful and easygoing nature suggested a privileged background.

Jiang Hui had assumed the other party was referring to only a few dozen books, or at most a bunch, which was why she dared to ask to borrow them… She hadn't expected it to be such a large pile. If all these books were the same kind of useful information as the one she had just been reading, then she would owe them a huge favor—

Jiang Hui's thoughts were somewhat complicated. Then, she was suddenly awakened by the specially set clock chiming. She quickly grabbed a book in the last half hour and tried to read it, hoping to bring it completely into her consciousness. That way, she would have something to do tonight.

In the quiet night, under the dim light, a young girl sat cross-legged beside a pile of messy books, flipping through a particular book at an unbelievable speed.

Eight days after the rebellion was quelled, Star 732 had largely returned to normal. Schools also resumed normal classes yesterday, and Jiang Hui and the others were able to attend classes again.

However, the students soon had a new topic of conversation: the recent rebellion.

"Chen, are you telling the truth? That's really... thank goodness you escaped safely in the end."

"Thank goodness, I almost went too. My cousin asked me to go, but I couldn't, so she asked other friends instead. When we came back, she and her friends were all injured. I heard that one of her friends even had her leg broken by someone being trampled in the passageway."

"You guys are lucky. My relative had it much worse. Everyone else came out, but there was still no news of him. His family thought he had been placed in a safe zone by the military. Later they found out that he was indeed in the safe zone, but he was a corpse. It seems he died at the stadium from the rebels' guns. When they went to claim him... even the body was incomplete."

"Who else from our class went?" a classmate suddenly asked.

"They're probably all here... No, Clarence hasn't come back yet. I wonder if he's been delayed." That's not impossible, because although the school announced the resumption of daily classes yesterday, a small number of students are still unable to return to campus for various reasons and may have to wait a while longer.

“He went too. I saw him at the game earlier,” Keith Jaidi suddenly interjected.

This person is usually the type to keep to himself. Although he has excellent grades and trains very hard, he is arrogant and has a bad temper. Therefore, he is somewhat distant from his classmates, even less so than Jiang Hui, who is rarely seen and often lends his notes to others.

However, the other party was listening nearby today and inexplicably joined the conversation.

"Jaydie, you went too, were you alright?"

The boy was taken aback, clearly not expecting his classmates to be the first to focus on this. He didn't know what to feel, but his lips relaxed slightly as he shook his head and said, "I had something to do and left early, which coincided with the start of the rebellion, so nothing happened."

But Clarence... seems to be in serious trouble.

Jaidi recalled that day when he was stuck in the hospital and caught a glimpse of his two classmates, one standing and one lying down, both looking disheveled as they were being carried into the emergency room by medical staff. He was busy at the time and couldn't go to check on them, but he kept thinking about it for days.

Jiang Hui has returned safely, but there is still no news of Clarence, and no one knows how she is doing.
