Chapter 38 Revisited
“Okay, all your requests can be fulfilled by our conglomerate.” The young man nodded.

Lawyer Jane hadn't expected the Hailusi Group to be so agreeable, but upon reflection, it became clear. The interstellar industry has always been extremely strict about product quality, and the rights of minors in interstellar space are a taboo subject for all citizens. Jiang Hui's case covered both points; where was the Hailusi Group to evade responsibility?

That's all they can do. Thinking of the numerous scandals, big and small, that this group had embroiled in in the past, and the product quality issues that had surfaced in recent years, Jian Xin couldn't help but sneer. They've really gotten off easy.

The lawyer nodded, took the documents, and helped Jiang Hui review them again for a final check to prevent the other party from taking advantage of any loopholes.

The young man sitting opposite Jian didn't seem to care about her caution, but instead turned his gaze to Jiang Hui, who had remained silent. He hadn't forgotten that this person was actually the protagonist of this unexpected incident.

"Ms. Jiang, is there anything else you'd like to add? We're very sorry that our products have caused you such an unpleasant experience. If you have any requests, please feel free to make them here. Our group will do its best to accommodate them." The young man was very amiable, but judging from his attempt to speak to Jiang Hui alone, he didn't seem to be a truly kind person.

These seasoned veterans are cunning and scheming; their questions to Jiang Hui now don't seem to be well-intentioned. Jane wanted to stop them from speaking to Jiang Hui alone.

“You really should apologize,” Jiang Hui said coldly. “I don’t think I told you, or you probably already know. The problem with your product this time wasn’t just the alarm malfunctioning. The reason I was injured in the head was also because of your company’s product.”

"If it weren't for this intelligent robot, none of this would have happened. You really should take responsibility," the girl said coldly.

The young man who asked the question and the person next to him who appeared to be an assistant changed their expressions slightly.

Because Jiang Hui's prediction had come true. They really did know that the malfunctioning intelligent robot they retrieved from the scene still had some residual video footage. Fortunately, this was a backup plan left by their group; the patrol team had discovered it during their inspection, but it was later brought back by their people under the pretext of detection.

This is a ticking time bomb! The accident involving Ms. Jiang was caused by a malfunction in the intelligent system, a completely different situation from their previous alarm system failure. If it had been discovered immediately, the Hailusi Group wouldn't be handling this so leisurely now; it might already be in the interstellar newspapers and facing administrative penalties from the government.

For this very reason, the previously stubborn director immediately abandoned his previous stance. The group promptly recalled Andy, who had previously negotiated with Jiang Hui, to handle the matter, hoping to resolve it as quickly as possible.

They recalled Ms. Jiang's words and actions and her demands, and thought that she had forgotten about the matter because she had suffered a brain injury; otherwise, she wouldn't have asked for such a small amount of compensation.

Who would have thought that not only did the other party remember, but they also brought it up at this particular moment? What does this mean?
The young man felt quite troubled, and his earlier ease turned into a slight sense of apprehension.

People with simple minds naturally wear their hearts on their sleeves, making it easy to read their thoughts and feelings. Others are naturally more reserved, preferring to keep their thoughts and ideas hidden, making it difficult for outsiders to understand them.

Jiang Hui is undoubtedly closer to the latter. Whether this Ms. Jiang is genuinely cold by nature or has developed resentment towards their group due to some misfortune, she seems quite difficult to deal with.

Now that the other party has thrown out this incriminating evidence, he is finding himself in a difficult situation.

After a while, the young man suddenly apologized, saying he needed to discuss the matter with his superiors further, perhaps to revise the compensation plan and raise the bar. He then instructed his assistant to serve the two men tea and snacks, as well as small gifts that had been prepared beforehand, before turning and running off, disappearing without a trace.

Watching the other party practically flee, Ms. Jian put down the contract that was supposed to be voided later, frowned slightly, and said, "Ms. Jiang, so there was this part. You should have told me sooner. We couldn't have let them get away so easily."

Lawyer Jian hadn't expected Jiang Hui's case to have such a twist. She had thought it was just a routine product liability issue, which was quite common in interstellar space.

However, if what Jiang Hui said is true, then it's not just a product quality issue, but a case of the group's product negligence causing life-threatening situations. It's not impossible for such victims to take the matter to court.

“I suffered damage to my frontal lobe before, and my physical and mental state were poor, so I couldn’t recall it for a while. I only suddenly remembered it when I went home a few days ago, but it’s already come to this…”

Jiang Hui didn't explain why she didn't pursue the matter, but lawyer Jian already understood. In fact, even if she had taken on this case earlier, she probably wouldn't have advised Jiang Hui to take it to the Interstellar Court.

Because the inspection bureau went to collect evidence immediately after Jiang Hui's incident, they obviously failed to uncover this hidden situation involving Jiang Hui, so the Hailusi Group remains calm to this day. The fact that the other party knows about this suggests they have some backup plan.

If Jiang Hui insists on confronting them, it means resubmitting the materials, and even after layers of review, the charge might not be substantiated. It would be pointless to confront such a powerful and wealthy group.

Jiang Hui is new to the planet and has no close guardian. To put it bluntly, living alone is a risky situation, and it's better to avoid trouble. After all, she will still have to live on this planet in the future, and the Hailusi Group won't collapse so quickly.

Therefore, it can only be used as a bargaining chip, to be handled with care and not taken lightly.

"But the timing of your offer was perfect. Look how scared he was..." Ms. Jian said, suppressing a laugh. Even from such a small matter, she could see a hint of the other person's wicked sense of humor. This person was probably doing it on purpose, deliberately choosing a moment when the other person thought victory was assured, just to throw him off balance: "I agree, well done!"

It seems the people from Hailusi Group were completely guilty; they were so scared that they wanted to change the compensation plan before even starting further discussions.

This was obviously advantageous for Jiang Hui, so the two of them naturally wouldn't stop him.

Seeing that it was almost lunchtime, Jane figured the negotiations with the Hailusi Group probably wouldn't be over anytime soon, so she invited Jiang Hui to have some food. This was all prepared by the logistics team at the young man's request, and it looked quite lavish.

It's ironic that the Hailusi Group only puts effort into such useless things...
