Chapter 1594 A Long Drive In
A bluish-green light swept across the long street and buildings, swiftly rushing towards a certain place.
Lin Fan followed closely behind, riding a flying sword. His clothes fluttered in the air currents, his eyes were cold, and his aura was solemn.
She wasn't actually too worried about Jin Sichen's safety. But since he had suddenly gone missing, there was no guarantee that no unforeseen circumstances might occur, so she could only feel completely at ease once she found him as soon as possible.
Antonio followed closely behind, riding a broadsword. His usual carefree and playful demeanor vanished, replaced by a solemn expression.
Even though he and Jin Sichen often argued and bickered, it was just a special expression of their friendship. He didn't want to see anything actually happen to her.
Behind the two, a distance away, stood a dense mass of Noah's escort crew. They were using magical artifacts, while those without cultivation used flying shuttles. Each of them held a submachine gun, their aura menacing as they closely followed Lin and An.
The group completely disregarded the city's order, following the tracking talisman as they traversed the bustling streets and alleys, breaking through the floating traffic and forcing the vehicles to brake suddenly, with drivers complaining bitterly.
Before we could figure out where this group came from, another group arrived from behind.
Giant beasts of various shapes galloped after them, each bearing the image of a stern-faced sentinel atop its head or on its body. The dozen or so beasts raced past in a thunderous display.
"What's going on? Why are so many sentries displaying their mental energy within the city? Who just went by? Was it an enemy attack?!"
An uproar erupted on the street as pedestrians trapped in traffic craned their necks and gasped in surprise.
In a panic, I quickly checked the terminal for any emergency notices that I might have overlooked.
Before they could find anything, dozens of flying police robots arrived in quick succession. Their flashing lights and loudspeakers continuously broadcast orders to stop and reprimand those who violated regulations.
Foreign Minister Eli sat in the back car, his hands trembling uncontrollably.
It wasn't fear, but rather frantic typing as I explained the situation to various departments while simultaneously issuing orders to the police equipment at the front to cease interception and disband.
But no sooner had he dismissed the group that was tracking him than other police robots, flashing warning lights, chased after Lin Fan and his group wherever they went.
Unfortunately, due to speed limitations, they all ended up at the very back. Even the hovercar he was currently riding in had a long line of them trailing behind.
Cen Fangyuan turned his head to look at the overwhelmed Eli and gently advised, "Forget it, we can't finish ordering them all. Let them follow along; they'll be fine as body cameras."
Eli looked at the densely packed swarms of robots ahead, with more constantly joining them along the way, and finally gave up in despair, letting out a soft sigh:
"How long will this noise continue?"
With such a large-scale operation, half the city's police robots could be mobilized. The city's security defenses are weak, posing a significant threat.
Cen Fangyuan replied with a smile, "I don't know. It depends on where the person who took Mr. Jin away hid him. Don't worry, we'll definitely find him."
Eli forced a fairly natural smile and continued chatting with Cen Fangyuan. But his heart sank deeper and deeper as he saw the large mansion district drawing ever closer.
That area is inhabited by high-ranking officials of the star system and is heavily guarded. The outer perimeter is also densely equipped with close-in weapon systems. If anyone without authorization breaks in, they will be immediately met with concentrated fire.
Eli was extremely anxious, hoping that someone could stop Lin Fan and his group, but also fearing that they would actually be hit by artillery fire.
As foreign guests, their behavior, though offensive, was not without reason and did not result in injury or loss.
If this shot were fired and injured Lin Fan or the others on the Noah, it would be tantamount to a declaration of war, with unimaginable consequences.
This is a serious diplomatic incident! Absolutely not!
Eli's fingers flew across the keyboard as he quickly sent a message to the Armed Forces Department.
However, the group of brutes in the Armed Forces were already dissatisfied with the Noah's flamboyant behavior and wanted to take the opportunity to deflate its arrogance, so they resolutely rejected Eli's request to close the gun emplacements.
In that instant, Eli seemed to already see his tragic fate—once Lin Fan was targeted, Cen Fangyuan, sitting next to him, would definitely not spare him, no matter what…
"Vice-Captain Cen, there's something ahead..." He was about to warn them when suddenly a flash of light appeared ahead, accompanied by a series of booming sounds, and several blinding beams of fire shot out in the same direction.
Finished!
Eli felt a chill in his heart, subconsciously closed his eyes, and silently increased the distance between himself and Cen Fangyuan.
Cen Fangyuan frowned suddenly as he saw the shells that came from different directions suddenly disappear in mid-air. He raised his eyebrows slightly.
Is this a temporary spatial passage opened?
Antonio watched as his fierce offensive was silently neutralized, feeling unsatisfied, but he also knew that now was not the time to play around; saving lives was the priority.
When the second wave of shells was launched, Lin Fan had already locked onto the position of the turret. With a wave of his hands, several streaks of blue-purple light flashed from his palms.
"Let me do it!" Antonio shouted, his eyes fixed on the rapidly approaching flames, his hands gripping a bat.
In mid-air, several huge baseball bat phantoms instantly materialized, precisely meeting the artillery fire as Antonio swung his bat, and fiercely deflecting all the incoming shells.
"Beautiful!" Antonio whistled loudly as he watched the several bright spots enveloped in water and soaring into the sky.
The Noah crew didn't react much. The sentries following behind, seeing such an outrageous maneuver, were a beat too slow to catch up and all looked up in disbelief.
In an instant, several loud "booms" resounded, and the flames exploded high in the sky, scattering fine water vapor that condensed into a small patch of rain above everyone's heads.
"What the hell?" The sentries were shocked by this series of actions and subconsciously slowed down, putting more distance between themselves and the people in front of them.
Eli opened his eyes abruptly upon hearing the explosion, breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing Lin Fan unharmed, and then gasped in shock.
At such close range, even close-in weapon systems couldn't damage them in the slightest. The Noah crew's strength is far greater than they anticipated!
Is it a protest?
The Noah is showing them a scare! It's telling them they have overwhelming countermeasures, though they usually don't bother to use them.
"What's wrong?" Cen Fangyuan asked with concern, his smile gentle.
Eli felt an inexplicable pressure, unsure whether the refined man before him also possessed formidable strength.
"It's nothing, the car was going too fast, I got a little carsick." He made up a reason on the spot, and looking at the other person's ambiguous smile, he quickly organized what he wanted to say.
"Ah!" Cen Fangyuan, who had been keeping an eye on Lin Fan ahead, saw her stop and his smile widened as he reminded her, "We've arrived."
"What's here?" Eli asked instinctively.
“Found it.” Cen Fangyuan raised his chin, gesturing for him to look.
Eli looked up and saw that Lin Fan had finally stopped and landed in front of a grand mansion.
But he felt no relief whatsoever; instead, his heart pounded even harder, almost bursting out of his chest.
"It seems you know who the owner of this house is, right?" Cen Fangyuan, seemingly oblivious to Eli's deathly pale face, suggested with a smile, "Should we inform him to come back? Or is he already home, and we can just pay him a visit?"
Eli's lips trembled, unable to speak.
That was the residence of the highest-ranking official of the Sentinel General Headquarters.
It's the one he mentioned before, the one who's good at tracking, and who just happens to be off Planet Plame.
Before Eli could come up with a solution, he saw Lin Fan raise his arm...
