Chapter 1020 Synchronization
Their attitude towards Fang Yu was exactly the same as Wang Fugui's: outwardly warm and polite, but deep in their eyes they all harbored a hint of scrutiny, curiosity, and a subtle...probing.

As the banquet began, a variety of delicacies were served in a continuous stream, and glasses of wine were poured one after another.

The meal was filled with meaningless mutual flattery, business compliments, and expressions of admiration for the Qisheng Group.

Fang Yu sat there silently, barely touching his chopsticks, only occasionally picking up his teacup to take a sip, his expression growing increasingly somber.

Finally, the imposing official in charge, holding his wine glass, spoke seemingly casually: "Mr. Fang, at such a young age, to be entrusted with such an important task by the Banner Commander, and to come alone to handle such... important matters, you must be exceptionally capable and have extraordinary abilities. May I ask, in which field did you previously hold a high position? What are the Banner Commander's specific arrangements for this matter...?"

Another entrepreneur chimed in, "Yes, Mr. Fang, we're all in the same boat now. Could you perhaps reveal a little bit about the situation so we're prepared? After all, this 'countdown' event concerns everyone's lives and fortunes, so we can't treat it lightly."

“Yes, yes, yes,” Wang Fugui quickly chimed in, trying to ease the tension, but the probing tone in his words was equally obvious. “Mr. Fang, please don’t misunderstand. We’re just curious, we absolutely didn’t mean to pry into any secrets. We just wondered if… there are any other arrangements after this, since General Qi only sent you?”

At the heart of these questions is nothing more than doubting Fang Yu's abilities and identity, wanting to know why he can represent Qisheng, and why these local bullies would go to such lengths to receive him.

They seem more concerned with Qisheng's "level of importance" and subsequent investment than with the problem itself.

Qi Ge skillfully smoothed things over, saying things like "Chief Qi has his own arrangements" and "Mr. Fang is a special talent," gently deflecting the sharp probing.

But Fang Yu's patience finally ran out at this moment.

He abruptly slammed down his teacup, the ceramic bottom striking the table with a crisp, jarring sound that instantly silenced the noisy table.

Everyone's eyes were focused on him.

Fang Yu stood up, his face as cold as ice, his gaze sweeping over the faces on the table, some smooth, some shrewd, some puzzled.

"I'm here to solve problems, not to waste time drinking with you, listening to your mutual flattery, and answering your meaningless questions!"

His voice wasn't loud, but it carried an undeniable resolve: "The countdown is still going on, every minute and second is precious. If you think eating, drinking, and having fun are more important than figuring out what's up above your heads, then you can continue!"

After saying that, he didn't even look at the reactions of the crowd. He pulled out a chair, turned around, and left the restaurant without looking back, heading towards his bedroom.

The group of people left behind looked at each other, their expressions varied.

Wang Fugui's smile froze on his face, the official's face instantly darkened, and the other wealthy men also showed displeasure.

The scene was so awkward it was almost embarrassing.

After a long silence, the official finally let out a cold snort: "Young man, you've got quite the temper! The banner commander sent such a greenhorn, isn't that a bit disrespectful to us?"

"Exactly! They haven't shown any real ability, but they've got quite the airs!" another entrepreneur said indignantly.

Wang Fugui quickly tried to smooth things over: "Everyone, please calm down! Young people are all the same, it's normal for them to have some personality. Maybe... they really have some talent? The people that the leader has his eye on can't be too bad." Although he said this, a trace of doubt and dissatisfaction flashed in his eyes.

He pondered for a moment, then winked at his daughter beside him and whispered, "Xiaoping, go and find an opportunity to talk to Mr. Fang. Young people can communicate easily. Find out what's so special about him."

Wang Ping, Wang Fugui's daughter, nodded, her curiosity growing stronger.

She straightened her clothes, picked up her laptop, and gracefully walked towards Fang Yu's bedroom.

I knocked gently on the door, but there was no response from inside.

I knocked a few more times, but it was still the same.

After hesitating for a moment, she tried turning the doorknob, and the door was not locked.

I opened the door and found no one inside.

The bedroom was tidy and organized, as if no one had ever lived there. There were no signs of use in the bathroom either.

Wang Ping was stunned for a moment, then immediately took out her phone and called her father: "Dad, he's not in the room."

"Not here?" Wang Fugui was also stunned. "How is that possible? We've been on this floor the whole time, and we haven't seen him go out. Could it be... that he left through the window?" He himself felt it was absurd after he said it, this was the top floor!
He immediately thought of Brother Qi, and filled with doubt, he found Brother Qi leisurely drinking tea in the living room of the suite.

“Mr. Qi, Mr. Fang… he’s gone missing!” Wang Fugui said anxiously.

Qi Ge put down his teacup, a mysterious smile appearing on his face, as if he had expected this. "Mr. Wang, don't worry. He may have left temporarily in his own way."

"His own way?" Wang Fugui looked bewildered. "This...this hotel has tight security, where could he have gone? Mr. Qi, what exactly is going on? Please stop keeping us in suspense!"

Qi Ge stood up, walked to Wang Fugui's side, patted him on the shoulder meaningfully, and said in an unprecedentedly serious tone: "President Wang, times have changed. We can't keep up with the old ways of eating, drinking, and building relationships. Some things, some forces, are beyond our traditional understanding. If you can't keep up with these changes, you will be ruthlessly eliminated."

He paused, then continued, "Aren't you curious about what's so special about him? Come on, I'll take you to the surveillance room. But after you see it, you know what to do. The fewer people who know about this, the better."

Wang Fugui was flustered by Qi Ge's words, yet filled with an irrepressible curiosity.

He nodded quickly and followed Brother Qi to the hotel's security monitoring room.

The security supervisor immediately and respectfully retrieved the surveillance footage from the penthouse suite corridor and related areas.

The footage is played back in a fast-forward.

The time was frozen about ten minutes after Fang Yu left the restaurant.

In the scene, Fang Yu returned to the bedroom, but instead of heading to the elevator or stairwell, he simply sat on the bed.

Then, to Wang Fugui's astonishment, Fang Yu in the surveillance footage looked around, and then... his entire body... disintegrated and vanished in an instant, like particles! In just two or three seconds, he completely disappeared, leaving only an empty room, as if no one had ever stood there.

The monitoring room was deathly silent.

Wang Fugui opened his mouth wide, his eyes widened like copper bells, and the color drained from his face instantly, then surged back up, turning it flushed.

He stared intently at the now empty surveillance screen, making strange gurgling sounds in his throat, but he couldn't utter a single word.

His mind went blank; his entire worldview and cognitive system were completely overturned and crushed at that moment!
He suddenly turned to look at Brother Qi, his eyes filled with extreme shock, fear, and a hint of realization.

Qi Ge looked at him expressionlessly and said calmly, "Now, do you understand? Delete it."

As if sleepwalking, Wang Fugui mechanically roared at the security supervisor, "Delete! Delete it immediately! All backups! Quick!!" His voice was shrill and off-key due to extreme horror.

Although the security supervisor was confused, he was frightened by Wang Fugui's condition and quickly took action.

Wang Fugui slumped in a chair in the monitoring room, panting heavily, his forehead covered in cold sweat. The scene of Fang Yu merging into the shadow kept replaying in his mind, his face blank and incredulous.

He finally understood what Brother Qi meant by "times have changed".

He finally understood what kind of person the young man he questioned, the one he tried to speculate and test using worldly methods, really was.

And all his words and actions at that dinner table seemed so ridiculous and insignificant now.

The severity of the problem probably far exceeds his wildest imagination.

The solution is clearly beyond the reach of ordinary businessmen like them.

His only thought now was how to make up for his earlier neglect, how to cling tightly to this... potentially life-saving opportunity. Night had fallen, but the city lights still shone brightly.

But in the surveillance room of this luxury hotel, a worldly tycoon, having glimpsed a corner of the world's true reality, was plunged into unprecedented shock and fear.

Fang Yu, however, had already left this glitz and clamorous cage.

……

In-game.

Ouyang Mansion.

The heavy wooden door to the alchemy room was gently pushed open, and Diao Xiaohui walked out expressionlessly.

Her movements were slightly stiff, but her steps were unusually firm. Ignoring the occasional glances from the servants who were sweeping the courtyard early in the morning, she walked straight along the bluestone path towards the outside of the mansion.

Almost at the same time she left, in the alchemy room, Ding Hui lazily yawned and stretched her body, which was a little sore and numb from maintaining one position for a long time.

She walked to the door, but instead of watching Diao Xiaohui leave, she gently pressed her slender fingers to her temples and slowly closed her eyes.

In an instant, her "perspective" shifted.

No longer were the familiar medicine cabinets and alchemy furnaces in the alchemy room, but rather a swaying scene of movement, the gradually bustling streetscape outside the Ouyang Mansion, the blurred faces of pedestrians and the outlines of carriages and horses.

Her consciousness synchronized with Diao Xiaohui's visual nerves, like an invisible ghost, attaching itself to Diao Xiaohui and sharing what she saw.

"It's...amazing."

Ding Hui smiled knowingly and muttered to herself.

Diao Xiaohui's body, which she had carefully "tuned," showed amazing plasticity in accepting this spiritual connection, and the connection went even more smoothly than expected.

However, limitations still exist.

The most obvious thing is that she can clearly "see" everything that Diao Xiaohui sees, but she cannot hear any sound.

All that came to mind was a silent film.

But this didn't stump Ding Hui. She had some knowledge of lip reading, and by combining it with the context, she could guess the answer pretty accurately.

Another limitation is distance. The effective range of the mental connection is not unlimited. Once Diao Xiaohui goes too far away, it becomes extremely unstable and eventually breaks down completely.

Even so, it already possesses enormous potential and room for maneuver.

Ding Hui opened her eyes, her fingertips left her temples, and her vision was simultaneously interrupted.

She smiled with satisfaction.

This method worked remarkably well on Diao Xiaohui, but it couldn't be replicated on Fang Yu... The two are not on the same level.

Composing herself, Ding Hui pushed open the door of the alchemy room, intending to find Fang Yu to discuss their next move.

As soon as I stepped into the courtyard, I was drawn by a sharp whooshing sound.

In the dim light of dawn, Zhuge Shi, dressed in a smart and practical outfit, was practicing swordsmanship in the center of the courtyard.

She moved with agility, her sword flashing like mercury spilling onto the ground, its cold glints weaving into a net.

Unlike before, with each swing of her sword, step, and spin, there seemed to be imperceptible shimmering light flowing through the air, vaguely forming mysterious patterns.

That was the array engraved into her body operating on its own, transforming the array's power into the power of her sword strikes, making each of her sword strikes contain even greater destructive force.

As the sword wind swept past, the fallen leaves on the ground silently turned into dust.

Ding Hui watched with great interest for a while, and was about to speak when she suddenly felt something. She leaned back and fell precisely into a broad chest.

"Husband, why are you up so early?" She looked up at Fang Yu's face, her tone carrying a hint of coquetry.

Fang Yu rolled his eyes helplessly and reached out to support her, preventing her from completely relying on him.

"It's time for you to rest."

It's obvious that Ding Hui has probably stayed up all night again.

"What's the rush?" Ding Hui straightened up with his help, but grabbed his arm with her other hand, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Zhuge Shi, who had just finished his stance. "Let's go with Zhuge Shi to check on the Nirvana Organization first."

More than her physical exhaustion, her interest was piqued by the investigation into the potential threat posed by the Nirvana organization.

Especially after the initial verification of the feasibility of Diao Xiaohui as a "chess piece," she couldn't wait to see what kind of big fish this line could catch.

Zhuge Shi twirled his sword, sheathed it, and walked over.

Sweat beaded on her forehead, but her breathing remained steady. She smiled at Fang Yu and Ding Hui and said, "Young Master Diao, Doctor Ding, it seems you two are both eager to get started. Let's set off now."

With her abilities, she naturally overheard what the two were saying.

Fang Yu glanced at Ding Hui, whose eyes were burning with determination, and then at Zhuge Shi, who had a serious expression on her face, and nodded: "Alright."

Zhuge Shi took the lead, followed by Fang Yu and the other two.

But as soon as they left the Ouyang residence, Fang Yu immediately discovered that they were being followed again.

"Don't worry."

Zhuge Shi smiled. Their organization wasn't something just anyone could discover.

Once they reach a certain distance, organized groups will naturally come out to deal with these loose ends.

Fang Yu frowned.

"If I'm not mistaken, the people following us are from the Foolish Underworld."

Fang Yu only said this much, but the meaning was quite clear.

But he clearly underestimated the Nirvana organization.

"The Foolish Underworld?"

Zhuge Shi wanted to laugh, but quickly suppressed it.

"Young Master Diao, rest assured, we don't even consider the Foolish Underworld a threat."
