Chapter 1331 Black Blade’s Disaster?

Malus Darkblade has been feeling pretty bad lately. He is one of the few important legacies left by the Witch King.

The Witch King's right arm Kuran Blackhand, the lord of the blessed evil party Roxia the Corrupted Heart, and the tyrant of Black Rock Malus Blackblade, the three few surviving Druzi leaders, are from Naggarond, Karl Carrond and Hag Grave respectively.

The Shadow King intended to break up the Druzy's behavior of dividing the cities into gathering places, but he soon realized that it was meaningless. Any Druzy who showed his bloodthirsty and cruel nature would soon be incorporated into the group.

The result of breaking up is nothing more than making it more difficult to penetrate and control. One voice is always more advantageous than multiple voices.

Malus has the few remaining Cold One Dread Knights of Druzei. These arrogant veterans are far more in line with Druzei's characteristics than their newer colleagues. They use poison to cover their bodies in exchange for strength, rather than riding the inferior guys who have been transformed by the Temple of Ichi for nothing.

Logically speaking, Black Blade's life in Nagarythe was actually quite good. Although his strength had declined a lot after losing the influence of Zarkan, his sophisticated methods and past prestige, plus the fact that the Phoenix King needed someone to control Hag Graves's huge army.

Apart from the lack of routine assassination of the Witch King and a lot of interesting duels and bloody entertainment, Nagarythe is actually not much different from Black Rock.

For hundreds of years, Malus has been consolidating his authority in Nagarythe, making the Phoenix King understand that the Black Blade still has important value.

The expedition commander discussed in the previous summit made Malus realize that he had finally made it. As long as he went to the Old World, the Phoenix King would not be able to control what he wanted to do.

But now, a piece of news leaked from the Dragon Palace made Black Blade a little uneasy...

He was not afraid of Caledor's group of cowardly noble council members, nor was he afraid of a dragon prince who lacked prestige and power, but behind those cowards were thousands of dragons and an even more terrifying Phoenix King.

A Druzi with scars all over his body and a black helmet covering his cheeks approached the throne of the Lord of Dread silently.

According to Druzy's custom, unfamiliar people must stay five meters away. This is the best way to prevent assassinations.

And now, this Druzie was less than three meters away from Malus, which was enough to prove that he was deeply trusted by Black Blade.

"Who did it?"

Black Blade's tone was cold. He and Kulan were intentionally protecting a group of remnants of the Kane sect, thinking that these deadly killers could create some opportunities at a critical moment...

But this was not an opportunity to use a vial of ineffective Black Lotus and place it into the Dragon Palace in an attempt to poison a group of high-ranking officials who could cause an earthquake in Ulthuan.

The black-faced assassin shook his head, his voice hoarse as if a knife cut: "After strict interrogation, those who tried to show off by assassinating Prince Long soon revealed the truth. Our intelligence network could not find the source of the bottle of black lotus."

Malus fell into deep thought and suggested a possibility: "Is this a hidden chess piece planted by Malekith in Ulthuan?"

"It is possible that the Witch King's ghost is still haunting Druzil... The key point now is that the royal court has shifted its attention to Nagarythe, and the Caledorian Council of Nobles is also making some small moves."

"It doesn't matter, the point is..."

"Prince Caledo has not made any statement yet. It is possible that he will choose to take a cold approach to maintain control over Druzy."

While the lord and his staff were analyzing the situation, a tall man named Druzy came quickly into the main hall without any notification.

Malus raised his hand and asked his staff to retreat into the shadows, and his expression returned to the calmness of being in control of everything.

"Howell, what news do you bring?"

"An order has come from the royal court that the regent wishes to see you, Malus."

Is it still inevitable... Malus clenched his fists. No matter what bad thing happened, all the dirty water could be thrown on Druzy!
We have clearly admitted defeat, but still!

Black Blade nodded slightly to show that he understood, and ordered Howell to go with him to Lothern, the city that Druzy was deeply afraid of. Countless execution orders came from the sacred royal court and the cold Phoenix King. Five days after the assassination, after quickly dealing with all those who knew about Caledor and not acting on their own, the regent came to his loyal Lothern.

Arriving at the same time as him was Malus, who had suicidal intentions.

In Malus's eyes, it was impossible for Draconir to stop the assassination so quickly. It must be Imrik who was instructing behind the scenes that anyone suspicious should be executed immediately.

But it doesn't matter. As long as the news of my death gets back to Nagarythe, a riot will start immediately... Loxia will also understand that Imrik's promise is nothing but a joke, and he will not let us warmongers go.

Black Blade's gaze became more and more ferocious, and Kane's dimensional sword was tightly attached to the right side of his armor, as if he wanted to taste the blood in this glorious and dazzling royal court.

Unexpectedly, Kosher did not ask Malus to disarm. The captain of the White Lion Guard simply glanced at the two Druzis and walked forward without saying a word.

The regent did not meet Malus in the royal hall, but in the narrow office. When facing the two Druzis who came with weapons, there was no fear on his face.

Malus and Howell nodded slightly to greet the elf behind the desk, but their expressions did not show much respect.

"Your Highness the Regent."

Draknir nodded in response and signaled Cosir to close the door as he wanted to talk to the two Druzis alone.

After the sound of the door closing tightly, there was a long silence. When Draconir stared at Malus, his eyes were calm and he seemed to be thinking about something in his heart.

With Malus's psychological quality, he would naturally not be afraid of the gaze of a young prince. He returned the same gaze with an aura that was no weaker at all.

"This should be our first official meeting, Malus Darkblade."

"If the battlefield is not formal, then this is the first formal meeting."

"Really?" Draconian raised his eyebrows, spread his hands and invited the two to sit on the sofa next to him.

"I thought you would abandon your past identity and get to know me again."

"If that were the case, I would not be here, Prince Caledor."

After Malus sat down, he held down Howell, who was trembling all over due to Draknir's aura. This Asur boy had just put pressure on him, and his eternal temperament filled the small office.

"Haha, for our generation, this topic is too far away... It will not be the responsibility of just one Phoenix King to completely end the division."

The regent, who had stopped talking, chose to clarify something: "You were not involved in the matter of the bottle of black lotus, am I right, Malus."

Malus narrowed his eyes, thinking about how to respond. It was true that he looked down on this weak prince, but that didn't mean he really regarded Draknir as a helpless person.

“What if I said I participated?”

"Then I will kill you right here and there."

A moment of murderous intent made Malus subconsciously grasp the Cain Dimension Sword and tense his body to resist.

But Draknir quickly regained his composure: "But you didn't. You are a smart person who knows how to be patient. Even if you want to take advantage of the chaos to gain freedom, you won't do it at such a critical moment.

If I am found dead from the Black Lotus, Druzil will be completely wiped out, which is not a good choice for you... When the Phoenix King maintains a high degree of control over Ulthuan, you will not easily take action against the Dragon Court." (End of this chapter)
