Warhammer: Return of the Dragon.

Chapter 1371 Confusing Intelligence

Elves always appear at the "right" time. This is the lesson Victor has learned in recent years. You can never judge what these elusive pointed-eared people are thinking.

Victor smashed the warhorn's head with a punch and stood alone beside the headless corpse, looking around at the beastmen with his only remaining eye.

Wherever his eyes reached, he saw beasts with souls filled with murderous desire, and great fear descended in his heart.

What stood there was not a skinny blood-feeding creature, but... light.

The five brave men did not choose to chase the beastmen who fled like birds and beasts. Of course, the main reason was that Victor thought it was risky to chase them rashly. He was not familiar with this place, and who the hell knew why the beastmen would be near Montforge.

But someone had already completed this task for him. The elf who came riding a giant dragon was filled with endless laughter and jokes. He used the dragon spear as a fishhook, swooping down to the ground like water again and again, and then piercing the prey's head.

The Flame Knights...why are they here?

Even from a distance, Victor could still see the elves wearing golden dragon armor on the back of the Silver Moon Dragon. This flashy decorative style fully demonstrated their confidence in themselves and that they did not mind becoming the focus of attention of enemies on the battlefield.

When Kerillian was also gazing at the back of the giant dragon in the sky in the distance and walked to Victor's side to check the body of the warhorn, the witch hunter stood with his arms folded, not showing any gratitude for the ranger's help.

Victor was keenly aware of some situations, especially those of the accompanying elves.

"You're hiding something, elf."

"So you think I lured the beastmen into a surprise attack?"

"No..." Victor pointed at the giant beast in the distance and said, "In the three-way melee zone, is Athel Loren fighting against the beastmen or for Bretonnia? This is Montforge, separated from Athel Loren by the Principality of Paraon. Why did the Dragon Prince appear here?"

"You can ask those proud Caledor high elves yourself. I hope you can really have a pleasant conversation with the Phoenix King as you boasted before."

After cutting off a piece of the warhorn's horn, Kerillian looked at Victor with disdain. Did he really think that the Empire knew everything about the southern land?
"If necessary, I will..."

Just as the witch hunter was about to end the task and continue Lona's mission with the four gangsters, the dragon actually stopped teasing the beastmen and flew towards the location of the five little warriors.

Victor looked up at the giant dragon swooping down with an expressionless face, and its huge mouth full of fangs, as if it would fall down with a breath if he didn't say some compliments.

"What brings you to Bretonnia, Victor?"

"That's what I wanted to ask, Boca Chiri."

The dragon did not breathe out any air, and after it landed on the ground, its threatening movements quickly stopped, and the Flame Knight quickly came to Victor.

The court swordsman first looked at Kerillian with a little surprise. As far as he knew, Asrai's rangers seemed to be busy with some... not so good things, and it seemed absurd that these solitary green springtails were keeping company with humans.

"Asrai? I thought you were all busy dealing with Morgul."

"I don't need to report to you. This is your promise."

"Of course, I'm not in the mood to pay attention to the situation of an unknown person. Compared to you... I'm more curious about Victor."

The Flame Knight glanced at Victor and found that he seemed to have not changed at all, still covered in blood.

"You have something to say."

"Why don't you speak first?"

The court swordsman chuckled. During his time in Altdorf, he had been accompanying Victor in special training ordered by the Phoenix King. His main responsibility was to prevent witch hunters from being killed. They had a pretty good relationship. "You are wondering why I appeared in Bretonnia, and not from Paravon."

Victor nodded silently, "I heard some... not so good news about the dispute between the Empire and its southern neighbor.

And your appearance makes me believe this rumor a little, this is Feng..."

"Oh, come on, Salzepyre." Bocacci made an exaggerated gesture, gesturing in a circle with his hands outstretched.

"You are a witch hunter, not a military noble like me. My appearance here must have obvious omens, and there are many things you can manipulate."

"As for whose order it was..." The palace swordsman glanced at the giant dragon behind him, "Don't forget, the Flame Knight still retains his original status in the Dragon Palace."

"Calledor?"

"Perhaps. Your Majesty cannot issue orders casually."

Victor was in deep thought for a minute, then he nodded silently to show that he understood.

"Then again, you have caused me a bit of trouble... This small band of Beastmen was supposed to be heading for the Beast Trail, joining the Horde and marching towards Athel Loren.

But because you killed the Warhorn, the leaderless Beastmen chose to attack the villages of Bretonnia, causing me to lose an intelligence clue."

"The Flame Knights would not choose to conduct reconnaissance in person. Perhaps you are just looking for some fun."

"You really know it, Victor, haha." The court swordsman patted Victor on the shoulder and whispered in his ear: "No matter what the order you received, leave Montforge as soon as possible. With your strength, you are not enough to enter the cemetery that is about to emerge."

"Humans and elves?"

"No, it's Order and Chaos."

Patting the witch hunter's shoulder hard again, the Flame Knight was not joking. A three-way melee was about to take place, which was by no means comparable to a small-scale encounter in the wild.

"Remember, don't die easily, you still have an important mission."

The departure of the Flame Knight only made Victor frown even more. It seemed that his guess was wrong.

Originally, they thought this was a conspiracy between the emperor and the elves, but the attitude of the Flame Knights seemed to indicate that the Empire might not be involved. So what was their purpose in coming to Montforge?

"Short-lived ghost, there are some things you shouldn't consider."

Kerillian's well-intentioned reminder only made Victor a little annoyed, and he emphasized his identity as captain again.

"Elf, if you interrupt my train of thought, it means that we will be in trouble. Without my well-thought-out plan, how can we win?"

"Then you'd better keep thinking about it, and wait for the beastmen to eat you and turn you into fertilizer for the land of Bretonnia."

Kerillian snorted coldly and left. She wondered why Victor was valued by the Dragon Prince, but it turned out that he was just as stubborn and arrogant.

"You irrational elf woman, I really don't know why Lona would look for you." Victor shook his head without disguising. He hated people who hid behind and shot black arrows the most, even though Kerillian's rain of arrows solved a lot of troubles.

But warriors who believe in Sigmar like to smash the enemy's head in an upright manner. (End of this chapter)
