Chapter 1731, Section 3643: Love in a Corner

Chapter 1731, Section 364: A Love Triangle

Baron Jim Kelly has thus become a talent we can recruit. Although Liberty City's current technology doesn't support them making games... we can use the Baron's abilities to first create an interactive amusement park!
As for him not being a good person... if all else fails, he can do what Griffin did, kill the Baron to give the Mondstadt nobles an explanation, and then transform him into a lich to shine in the Free City.

The first step is to understand the Baron's past.

Annan's first stop for "finding inspiration" was the Baron's study. As for the fact that he said he could go anywhere instead of searching everywhere... the Baron's lack of objection meant he agreed.

Annan unceremoniously flipped through the manuscripts on his desk; they were still deductions based on "logic," but they were becoming increasingly incomprehensible. He then opened a drawer and looked through some letters.

They were all letters and tokens related to the Chaos Cult, useless, and he casually tossed them back.

Annan walked to the window and looked out at Baron Jim Kelly, who was staring blankly at a statue that was beginning to take shape in the garden.

This must be the Baron's white moonlight?

It's a pity the Baron refused to accept the spell of resurrection, otherwise he could have solved the problem by pulling the girl he secretly loved out of the grave.

Finding nothing in the study, Annan then went into the bedroom to check the drawers and bed.

As Annan crawled down to check under the bed, the Baron's voice suddenly rang out in the room.

"What are you doing?"

thump—

Startled, Anan looked up and bumped his head on the bed, crawling out and rubbing the back of his head: "Hmm, let's see if you've written in your diary."

“I won’t write,” said the baron outside the window.

"That's true, who keeps a diary if they're a decent person?"

Annan prepared to continue, then looked at the troublesome Baron: "Is there anything else?"

“Gone…” The baron disappeared from the window, then looked back strangely.

Isn't this my room?

After searching around, Annan found a book in the bedside table drawer titled "Larry's Monster." It looked a bit old and seemed to have been read many times.

Realizing that Baron Jim Kelly wouldn't have flipped through a book so many times for no reason, Annan also opened the book and glanced at it.

The story is set in the ancient city of Lyri. The male protagonist is ugly because he has monster blood and is bullied. Only one boy is willing to play with him and speak up for him. This friendship lasts for more than ten years. When the boy is invited by his friend to attend his coming-of-age ceremony, he learns that his only good friend is actually a girl.

The two fell in love, but because of his monster bloodline and ugly appearance, the male protagonist suffered discrimination and prejudice, while the girl was forced by her father to marry a boy who had always bullied her in childhood.

The male protagonist wants to take the female protagonist away from Larry, but she refuses because her family needs a marriage alliance to continue their lineage, and she cannot abandon her family. Then, on their wedding day, the male protagonist transforms into a monster, storms into the banquet, and tries to kill her husband, but accidentally kills the female protagonist instead.

Finally, the male protagonist was killed by the arriving guards with a spear, and he died with the female protagonist in his monstrous form.

The story is somewhat clichéd, and the conflict is similar to that of "The Fall of the Mage Tower," but the writing is delicate, and even a cursory glance made Annan enjoy reading it.

Could it be that the Baron saw himself in this book?
Annan put down his book and went to the window: "Baron, are you from Mondstadt?"

"Why do you ask?"

"This is part of the creative process."

The baron remained silent for a long time before saying, "That's right..."

It seems the Baron's past has come to light.

"You grew up here?"

"almost……"

What is your real name?

Baron Jim Kelly couldn't help but ask, "Is this also part of the creation?" "Yes, incorporating your memories into the arrangement will enhance the effect."

“My name is Jim Kelly,” the Baron had no choice but to say.

"It's alright, you can continue with your work."

Jim Kelly returned to the statue and continued meditating, probably oblivious to the outside world for the time being.

Holding the baron's name, Annan asked the nobles if anyone knew Jim Kelly.

The nobles exchanged glances, and after a moment, a middle-aged woman hesitated before saying, "I... I think I know."

"Tell me about it."

"It seems like more than ten years ago, there was a crime of passion. The murderer was Jim Carrey. He was never caught, and his wanted poster was posted on the bulletin board for several years..."

"and then?"

"I...I can't remember..."

Annan then asked, "Who knows about this manor?"

“I know, this is Earl Maple Leaf’s manor!”

Where is Earl Maple Leaf?

"It seems like they encountered some kind of upheaval more than a decade ago and gradually declined... Yes, it was that Jim Kelly who did it; he killed Maple Leaf's daughter, Ai—"

"Shh..."

Annan warned the nobleman to be quiet, saying that they couldn't hear the baron they were talking about now, but if they said the name, he would probably hear it.

With this spark, more and more nobles dug up their faded memories, each offering their own recollections, which allowed Annan to piece together the truth.

Similar to "Lyra's Monster," the Baron also played a girl very well in his childhood, but the difference is that there was also a boy between them.

That's right, the real Baron's story is a love triangle.

The baron and the boy both liked the girl, and the girl liked them both, so neither could make a choice. The three of them would have continued playing like this indefinitely, but one incident disrupted the balance.

The Earl of Maple Leaf, the girl's father, was in trouble, and only the boy's family could help him. So they decided to arrange a marriage between the two families, with the girl marrying the boy.

When his two best friends were getting married, Baron Jim Kelly, naturally opposed, stormed into the manor on the day of the banquet and killed the girl and the boy.

The situation is probably not that simple, but after all, it happened more than a decade ago and has been passed down so many times that the story has been greatly distorted. However, what is certain is that Baron Jim Carrey did indeed kill his best friend.

Having learned the truth, Annan decided to make a trip to Mondstadt.

He concluded by warning the nobles: "Now that you know what's going on, cooperate with the Baron. I will have him release you after this is over."

Before leaving, Annan went to say goodbye to Baron Jim Kelly, but the baron, who trusted Annan completely, ignored him.

Upon arriving in Mondstadt, Annan went straight to a tavern, paid a dozen gold ingots for portraits of Baron Kinkelly and other involved parties, then rented a room on the second floor, shielded himself from outside detection, and opened a portal to Free City.

"Dumbledore, make me two puppets, their ages must be between sixteen and eighteen..."

After telling Dumbledore the portrait and his request, and just as he was about to undo the spell, Dumbledore suddenly said, "The druids are looking for you."

"Dade?"

Annan waited a few more minutes and saw Dade and Yingge rushing over.
