Its massive size makes it easy to overlook a small silhouette hidden in the shadows beside it—the Shadow Demon.

"The North is becoming a chaotic paradise, and demons are answering the Highlord's call to fight in the Prime Material Plane. Evil creatures are also spontaneously coming to the Skaven city-states."

The Abyss Demon, Wei Dun, answered Annan's second question: "A new bloody war is about to begin."

"What is a bloody war?" Annan asked again, even though he already knew.

The eavesdropping demons fell silent for a moment. The shadow of the abyss demon writhed, and the small shadow demon stirred, only to be stopped by the abyss demon.

It said gently, "Succubus, please continue asking."

"What's going on with the Rat King?" Annan feigned confusion. "Isn't it the leader of the rat-people? Why is it joining the war?"

"Upstairs, a suite with a bathtub and a succubus is available for three gold dollars a night."
