Chapter 1780, Section 413: Middle-earth Cannot Be Without the City of Liberty

"Uh... what's the difference?"

Viscount Scuvilla felt as if he had returned to his childhood, being taught a lot of difficult-to-remember etiquette by his strict father.

"Making money is easy. Go to those taverns, tell them your identity, show them the magical videos you filmed, and then say you'll promote them for them, all you have to do is pay a promotion fee. Becoming famous is a bit difficult, but not that difficult. You're the first one to take an airship. Just follow the steps, and sooner or later all the vampires will know you."

"Wanting everything is the priority, the first step is to build up a reputation first, and then try to monetize it after reaching a certain scale by cooperating with taverns. Most people don't have much taste; they just do what others do. Even if a few vampires don't think it's that good, you can say it's just a matter of different people's tastes."

"Even if it really affects your reputation, you can hire some people to infiltrate and stir up trouble. Then you can step forward and apologize for causing everyone to argue, and promise to improve yourself to a higher standard in the future and be a little more restrained. They will forgive you!"

“If you have enough fans, you can even take the opportunity to say, ‘To ensure my family drinks safe and high-quality blood, I’ve decided to personally open a tavern where all blood sources are pure and natural, without any impurities.’ Look, you’ve seen how much money this guy makes; it’s no less than what you do everywhere, taking on advertisements.” Annan said, pointing at the Four-Handed Bee Demon.

Viscount Scuvila didn't quite understand, but he could roughly sense the difference.

“No, I only want to be a connoisseur of taverns.” Viscount Sculla’s eyes shone with a purity and determination untouched by materialism.

Annan simply smiled and said nothing. How many dragon slayers have turned into dragons themselves? Being swayed by self-interest always leads people astray… Only a few truly steadfast idealists can resist temptation.

Have you ever been to Liberty City?

Annan asked abruptly without any apparent reason, and after the vampire shook his head, he said, "It's a pity, they are very good at cooking a cup of ordinary blood into a delicious dish."

"Cooking?"

The vampire sensed that he had heard some strange words.

"Just like raw meat and cooked meat, cotton and cotton clothes, blood can also be cooked. Even the Scarlet Queen said it was delicious. Besides that, there are many other fresh things there. Middle-earth cannot be without Liberty City, just as the vampires of the South cannot be without the Land of Eternal Night."

Annan wasn't lying; Wood's improved blood curd was very popular with the Scarlet Queen, but due to the limitations of the workshops, production was limited, and the entire batch was acquired by the Stuart family.

When it becomes industrially produced like alcohol, it can enter the homes of vampire citizens.

"How did you know?" the Four-Armed Bee Demon suddenly asked.

“I’m a succubus, after all. I’ve slept with so many people, they must have said something to me in bed,” Annan said casually.

It would be a waste not to recruit such talent to Liberty City. Vampires are Liberty City's biggest money-maker. They may not have many other things, but they certainly have a lot of money.

Annan continued to tempt him, "Since you're going to be a connoisseur who looks for good taverns everywhere, I think Liberty City is not to be missed."

"I'll go."

Viscount Scuvila, whose ambitions, whether ideals or not, were stirred by Annan, said.

"Orme, what can I do to help you?" The vampire's gratitude was genuine.

He wasn't worried at all that Olme would make excessive demands—after all, how could someone who had been taught by a sublime being who had mastered eight types of blood magic be the same as an ordinary succubus?

“I do need someone’s help with something.” Annan glanced at the four-armed bee demon eavesdropping, letting it listen in. “I’m looking for a female gray-furred rat-person… she’s a rat-person priestess, her name is something like…”

Oh no, I forgot what my sister-in-law's name is!
Thinking that Jerry would probably be inseparable from his younger siblings, Annan changed his tune: "He has a champion mouse named Jerry by his side."

“I’m sorry, I don’t recall.” Viscount Sculla shook his head. Annan hadn’t held out much hope anyway; he was mainly trying to impress the Four-Handed Bee Demon.

For Viscount Skuvila, the trip to the Skaven city-state was well worth it; he not only found new goals but also learned valuable knowledge.

"However...would that lord be willing for me to spread the Eight Methods of Blood Tasting?" The vampire hesitated.

"She's willing to teach even a succubus like me, so why would she be afraid of you spreading it?"

Viscount Scuvilla expressed his gratitude and apologies for not being able to help, and then, after Annan casually mentioned that he didn't have much money on him, he quickly said, "It's alright, I have plenty," and took out all his money.

Annan said he couldn't accept this, and saw Viscount Scuvila out of the tavern, saying that he would meet him in Free City after things were over here.

Watching Viscount Sculla transform into a swarm of bats and leave the first floor, Annan returned to the tavern, tossed his money pouch, and let the four-armed bee demon behind the counter hear the sound: "You heard it all. Find this gray-haired rat, and you'll be richly rewarded."

The Four-Handed Bee Demon had observed everything Olme had said from last night to this morning. She'd earned dozens of gold coins in just a few words, seemingly making more money than he had...

"Finding people is something I'm good at."

Annan nodded in relief, then turned and walked up the stairs.

The Four-Armed Bee Demon stared intently at Anan's back... At that moment, Anan turned around without warning and caught the Four-Armed Bee Demon.

"You were peeking at me just now, weren't you?" Annan pointed to his eyes. "If you look again, you'll have to pay."

As soon as they went upstairs, they bumped into a succubus who had just finished a hearty meal. Her eyes lit up when she saw Annan.

"Teacher Olme, I tried the method you taught me, and the results were outstanding!"

"That's good, that's good." Annan said dismissively, trying to walk around to the side.

"Could you teach me a little more?" the succubus asked, clinging to her.

"I've taught you all the knowledge you paid for with your tuition, do you still have money?"

Annan remembered that he had completely drained this succubus.

The succubus was indeed penniless, but she still had other "treasures".

She held out the essence she had prepared as a late-night snack, holding out a cup. "Will this do? I collected it with great difficulty..."

Annan let out a sharp, piercing yell: "Get it away! Get that thing away right now!"

……

In his quest to find his adopted siblings, Annan employed various methods, including but not limited to playing "Tom and Jerry" in the tavern and bribing some rat-men to spread the word that "Jerry is in the tavern." Later that evening, after the Abyss Demon appeared in the tavern lobby, Annan asked it his third question about finding his siblings.

The Abyss Demon indicated that it could not answer Annan's question. The demons of the Skaven city-states were all busy with their own affairs; it didn't matter if they fought amongst themselves, but if they dared to attack the Skaven nobles, the Skaven would show them what right they had to conquer such a vast northern territory.

Ruth comes back occasionally, but spends most of her time outside doing something unknown.
