Chapter 1816, Section 449: Weakness

Chapter 1816, Section 449: Weakness
Biros strolled through the streets, followed by Ruth.

They attracted almost everyone's attention on the street.

Ordinary people can't distinguish demons or recognize the six-armed serpent demon, but that doesn't stop them from being curious about this strange and unfamiliar being, not to mention that Biros has the physique of a powerful being and six arms.

Ruth was used to being stared at, but Biros felt uncomfortable being stared at by hundreds of eyes, and even the movement of her snake tail became stiff.

In the abyss and at the camp, no one dared to stare at her like that.

For a demon, a meeting of eyes means either submission or death.

"Lady Biros, don't be nervous. They mean no harm; they're just curious about you."

"I know."

Even so, they were one of the few intelligent races among demons capable of resisting the corruption of the abyss, and Biros had that much patience. Soon, she adjusted to the presence of their gaze and focused her attention on the "low" houses on both sides of the street.

Nighttime should be a time for rest for humans, but the streets remain bustling and vibrant, with lights shining everywhere.

Shops selling potions and magic stones, magical videos playing in shop windows, girls displaying clothing, and all sorts of other shops. The exquisite architecture, compared to the stone houses of the demon camp, is so different it's like elves and orcs.

She also saw a "succubus massage parlor," where a succubus sat lazily in a recliner by the door, and their eyes met for a moment.

The slippers hanging on the illusory pink toes of the massage parlor owner, Elena, froze instantly.

"What the hell?! I actually saw a six-armed snake demon appear on the street!"

This is almost more unbelievable than seeing a Balrog, you know... the six-armed serpent demons are the most loyal race to the Abyss!
After the initial shock, a sense of crisis arose spontaneously.

Dragons, dark elves, succubi, and now the six-armed serpent demon... Annan's orientation is rapidly sliding from evil to chaos!

The master of all changes knows who Annam's next target is; it can't be the maggot demon, can it?!

Elena lost interest in being lazy, struggled to get up from the recliner, ran upstairs, and pulled open the treasure chest under the bedroom bed.

Opening the box, the gleaming gold gave her an indescribable sense of security.

Fortunately, we're not far from accumulating another 100 gold.

Elena picked up a gold coin, kissed it, imagined it as Annan, and hummed happily:
"We touched hands and kissed, even the Succubus Queen pales in comparison to me~"

Where there are cats, there are reporters.

Evelyn, having been tipped off by the Cats, arrived. She carried a modified version of the Hellfire Legion's ammunition pouches, but inside were magic stones labeled with various notes indicating their different uses.

She filmed hundreds of seconds of footage around the six-armed serpent demon, and was about to greet Ruth and ask when she would take back what she had left there.

Ruth, however, acted as if she didn't recognize her and kept circling around her.

Evelyn seemed to understand, but didn't greet them; she simply continued pressing the magic stone to take pictures.

The arrival of the Six-Armed Serpent Demon in Free City is big news, even more eye-catching than the appearance of the Flame Demon—because of the Six-Armed Serpent Demon's special identity, her appearance actually represents a force.

She'd even come up with the title for the next episode of "Voice of Freedom": "Tourism in Liberty City Continues to Heat Up, Six-Armed Snake Demon Appears on the Street!"

Even the Succubus Queen hadn't anticipated this—she only thought that sending the six-armed serpent demon to Free City would mark Annan as a demon and ostracize him from human society. She hadn't expected the existence of "magical newspapers," which essentially meant they too were marked as "human" by Annan.

For the simple-minded inhabitants of Free City, they were oblivious to the current situation, knowing only that Lord Annan had once again tricked a powerful demon into returning, and that today was another day of growing stronger. Meanwhile, for the women and men harboring unrealistic fantasies, their competition had grown even more.

……

Annan instructed Lilith to take Albek to the mage tower for a check-up, make some simple arrangements, and then headed towards the city lord's mansion.

The closer Annan got to the city lord's mansion with its lights on in the windows, the more inexplicably nervous he became. "Peterson!"

"I am here, Lord Annan!"

Peterson, who was following behind, came running over excitedly.

"Get me some mud."

"Which type do you want? Sea mud or silt? Does it have any water requirements? Do you want anything added?"

"Never mind, I'll do it myself." Annan turned left and right in the city lord's mansion and came to the kitchen. He rolled up his sleeves and suddenly squatted down in front of the stove to scoop out the ashes.

……

"Lord Annan has returned."

In the deputy city lord's office, the assistant stood behind the door and spoke to Olmedo.

"Any more?"

Olmedo didn't even look up; she could hear Losi's dragon-blood-like shouts coming from downstairs from her office.

"He also brought back a six-armed snake demon. Dean Dumbledore went crazy. I've never seen him so happy before."

"A six-armed serpent demon..."

Olmedo knew about Dumbledore's golem plan; a few days ago, the demon named Beldona had revealed a few words about it, but he didn't expect that a six-armed snake demon would be brought back so quickly.

"Would you like to see me?"

"That six-armed snake demon? No need, Annan will take care of her."

Outsiders might not know, but Olmedo knew Annan very well. The rumors about him being "like a sorcerer" and having "romantic nights" were just that—rumors. In reality, Annan was just a big boy who loved excitement—although he did have a…inexplicable collecting obsession with other races.

Of course, you could argue that he only plays with emotions and not the body.

"And what about Lord Annan? He returned from the far north this time, and the places he went to were becoming increasingly dangerous..."

Olmedo looked up from his work: "You're right."

Liberty City is now on the right track and developing steadily. In a few decades, it will become a major power that cannot be ignored.

But as many politicians aptly put it, Liberty City is a miracle that arose because of Annan Reeves.

Without Annam, there would be no Free City.

Everything here depends on Annan. He still wanders around like a man with a treasure, playing a dangerous game with a madman where the loser dies and the winner only gets a copper coin.

The benefits of winning are minimal, while losing is catastrophic.

Olmedo thought for a moment and found a way to deal with Annan.

He told his assistant to leave first, and the door was pushed open shortly after it closed.

Olmedo, who thought his assistant had returned, looked up and saw Annan walk in.

Olmedo is not Bérôme; as a politician, she needs superb acting skills and the ability to deal with all sorts of people.

At that moment, tears welled up in her eyes, her gaze filled with a mixture of disappointment, sadness, and resentment as she looked at the figure standing in the corridor.

"Annan, how long are you going to keep us worrying..."
