Chapter 1918, Section 551: The Cat and the Night Girl

Chapter 1918, Section 551: The Cat and the Night Girl
In order to help Lady Night escape her predicament, the members of the secret society devised a plan to help her complete her divine duties and increase her power to break through the barrier.

Thus, the silly cat whose name contained the word "midnight" became their target.

To join the Lady of the Night's secret society, one must either be a legend or possess extraordinary abilities. It's normal that the Silly Cat and her followers couldn't defeat her, so they fled to Middle-earth, and then settled in Free City, where they cooperated with the Spider Queen.

The silly cat's daytime outburst wasn't because Annan hadn't established a church for Him; He was angry at Himself—He couldn't protect the believers, and He couldn't even protect Himself. Even after rejoining the church in Free City, He was simply shifting the trouble onto Annan.

Thinking of this, Annan's dark eyes softened like those of Italia, and he stroked the silly cat's head: "Then let's rebuild in Liberty City."

"Liberty City shelters you now, and you shelter Liberty City in the future."

Just as the silly cat was about to explode in anger because of Annan's physical advances, it was suddenly enveloped in the deep trust conveyed in his subsequent words.

"Are you really willing to help me?" The silly cat's eyes sparkled.

“It is He who is trapped in the Kingdom of God, not you.” Annan encouraged the silly cat. “They want to take back their divine authority, so why can’t you take back your divine authority and become the Cat and the Lady of the Night!”

"That sounds weirdly old-fashioned..."

"Then let's have a cat and a girl from the night!"

"When you return to Liberty City, your name will echo throughout the entire city..."

Annan stood up, raised the silly cat high, and shouted that echoed in the night sky: "One day, you will be the master of the night!"

"Quick, put me down! It's so embarrassing!"

The silly cat in Annan's hand was wriggling like a white maggot.

……

"Um, I'm sorry..."

For the first time ever, the silly cat showed remorse.

"It's not your fault. Just trim the cat's nails tomorrow." Annan, with three faint bloodstains on his cheek, remained calm.

"You really think I'm a cat?"

Does God scratch other people's faces?

The slight dissatisfaction that the silly cat had shown dissipated due to Annan's words.

"I did not do it on purpose……"

"I'm not blaming you. Let me show you around Liberty City now."

Annan first led the silly cat to the factory area, where the entire factory area was brightly lit, especially the blacksmith shop, the golem workshop, and the airship factory, which were working in three shifts to rush production.

"This is the airship factory, the one we're sitting on."

"It seems a little different," said the silly cat, looking at the finished product displayed in the open space.

"That's a reconnaissance airship, and this is a bombing airship. It's bigger, lighter, and sturdier."

The foreman of the workers, who had come out for some fresh air, saw Anan and hurried over to greet him, but hesitated when he got closer.

"Lord Annan, you...you were kicked out by Lady Irimoyas?"

"No, I don't think so." Annan was still wondering when he suddenly noticed the foreman staring at the bloodstains on his face. He said irritably, "Are your dragon claws this thin?"

The foreman looked closely at Anan, then looked down at the white cat, and gasped.

Annan left, taking the silly cat with him to visit other factories.

When the foreman returned to the factory, he found that the workers had all gathered at the window and witnessed the scene of Annan's arrival.

"What are you looking at? Get back to work!" The foreman was furious, expressing his love for Freedom City and his lord in his own way: "Lord Annan used to be a dragon, but now he can only be a cat, all because we've held him back!"

"As long as you can't do it to death, do it to death!"

……

There are no wrong titles, only wrong names: the silly cat's curiosity about the creations in the factory district far outweighed its awareness of their usefulness.

After a quick stroll, Annan led the uninterested cat into the church district.

Apart from the Wealth Church, which was the first to be built and has the highest completion rate, with the church section already in use, the other churches have only built their outer walls, and the gardens that should have been lawns are now completely barren.

But it was enough to make the silly cat grit its teeth in envy, wanting to overturn everything when it was quiet at night.

“Well, your church will have one too, and it will be faster than theirs,” Annan reassured. “You can choose a piece of land… how about this one?”

Annan pointed to a piece of land closest to the city lord's mansion.

"No, I want to choose this place!"

The silly cat, however, chose an open space opposite the Spider Queen's church: "My church is much... taller and more magnificent than Rose's!"

Annan looked at the silly cat strangely, wondering why it had gotten so worked up. It was like a dandelion, a cotton candy, a cloud, a pufferfish, or a fluffy ball.

He had no idea that the silly cat hated the little spider so much.

“You can design whatever you want. I’ll introduce you to Eli Shattered Stone in a bit,” Annan said, handing the reins to the silly cat and leading them to the church of the Spider Queen.

The main body of the Church of the Spider Queen is made of obsidian, with stone pillars carved into the curved shapes of spines, limbs, whips, and so on, to match the personality of the Spider Queen, Rose.

Two rows of braziers were placed in the church hall, but they still appeared dark and deep against the backdrop of the obsidian walls.

Sensing Annan's arrival, Mora stepped out of the church, her gaze fixed on the silly cat, as if she had noticed its identity.

"How come Rose's followers are just as annoying as He is?" the silly cat muttered.

Annan then told Mora the good news: "I saw little... Rose. She was very kind and left this for me."

The lines on her forehead immediately appeared. Sensing the Spider Queen's aura, Mora immediately knelt before Annan, trembling with both fear and joy: "Your Highness."

Now Annam has three families... three holy sons.

The Church of Wealth, the Church of the Spider Queen, and the Church of the Cat and the Midnight—the latter hasn't been told to the silly cat yet. But between his "keeper" and his "holy son," the silly cat will make the right choice.

"The Lady has entrusted me with developing the church for Her. Mora, I have chosen you as the Archbishop of the Spider Queen Church, responsible for gathering believers scattered throughout the land. But remember, the Lady's enemies are watching us, so you can only win over those believers who are trustworthy."

"Furthermore, the news of the mistress's return must absolutely not be leaked, understand?"

"I will keep it in mind."

Annan smiled warmly: "Get up, Archbishop Mora."

Mora silently stood up; the oozing blood and putrid smell from the gaping wound beneath the bandages spoke volumes about her current state of mind.

Annan bowed his head and respectfully asked the silly cat, "Cat and Midnight Maiden, Archbishop Mora paid an unimaginable price to contact Rose, and her wounds still haven't healed. Can you help her?"

Annan's original plan was to help Mora personally after his divine fusion, but with the silly cat, it wouldn't be so troublesome.

"It's just a minor issue."

Mora obediently removed her cloak, used her dagger to cut open the bandages wrapped around her body, and tore off the dirty bandages that were almost stuck to her flesh and blood, revealing once again the horrifying body inlaid with barbed wire.
