Attending ex-girlfriend's wedding, arresting the groom's officer on the spot
Chapter 2123 Identity Uncertain
Inquiries revealed that the vacant farmhouse belonged to Li Feng, who moved to the city two years ago. The house had been vacant ever since, and few people visited it except for Li Feng who occasionally returned to check on it. No strangers had been seen in the vicinity recently, and no unusual noises had been heard. Only two villagers reported seeing a blurry figure walking along a dirt road in the western part of the village three days ago, around the time of the incident. Due to the darkness, they could not make out the figure's gender, age, or clothing, but could only determine that the figure was about 175-180 centimeters tall and of medium build.
At 11:45 a.m., Yang Lin finished organizing all the investigation data, walked to Lu Chuan's side, saluted, and said, "Team Leader Lu, the on-site investigation is complete. I will now report the preliminary investigation results to you." Lu Chuan nodded, indicating that Yang Lin should give a detailed report. At the same time, he instructed the investigation team members around him to take notes, and the surrounding security team members to continue to stand guard to prevent the scene from being disturbed.
Holding the on-site investigation record, Yang Lin reported in a rigorous and clear tone: "Team Leader Lu, this on-site investigation was conducted strictly in accordance with the standard procedures, divided into two parts: an indoor central on-site investigation and an outdoor peripheral on-site investigation. Records, photos, and videos were taken throughout the process, and a total of 18 pieces of various trace evidence were collected. The specific details are as follows:"
"I. Basic Situation of the Scene. The crime scene is located at the western end of Lucao Gou Village, in an empty farmhouse owned by Li Feng. The farmhouse is a single-story adobe structure, facing south, with a building area of approximately 60 square meters. It consists of a main house and an east wing, which is vacant and unrelated to the case. The farmhouse door is a single wooden door without a lock, and the latch is open. There are three windows, all with wooden window frames, no glass, and no locks, which can be easily pushed open. The farmhouse is surrounded by farmland, open spaces, and other empty farmhouses. The area is remote, with little human activity. The main access route is a dirt road on the north side of the farmhouse."
"II. On-site investigation of the main room. The body was located in the center of the main room, lying supine with its head facing north, feet facing south, limbs naturally extended, and body slightly tilted to the left. The deceased was wearing a black long-sleeved cotton T-shirt with a large area of dark red stains on the chest, dark blue jeans, and black socks, but no shoes. There was a large, irregularly shaped pool of blood on the ground beneath the body, 80 cm long, 60 cm wide, and 0.5-1 cm thick, with dripping bloodstains at the edge and wiping bloodstains around the perimeter."
"The core trace evidence collected at the scene is as follows: First, footprints. Two complete size 43 diamond-patterned rubber-soled shoe prints were collected from the ground east of the pool of blood. They were parallel to each other and 40 centimeters apart. The edges of the shoe prints were stained with blood, and it is preliminarily determined that they were left by the suspect when committing the crime. A fragmented size 42 rubber-soled shoe print was collected from the ground inside the door. The pattern was blurred, and its relevance to the case could not be determined at this time. A fragmented size 43 diamond-patterned rubber-soled shoe print was collected from the ground around the left window on the south side. It was consistent with the shoe prints on the east side of the pool of blood. A complete size 43 diamond-patterned rubber-soled shoe print was collected from the ground in the center of the courtyard, facing the door of the farmhouse. Three complete size 43 diamond-patterned rubber-soled shoe prints were collected from the dirt road on the north side, facing the depths of the farmland. It is speculated that they were left by the suspect when fleeing. All of the suspect's shoe prints have been fixed with plaster and photographed."
"Second, bloodstains. We collected 1 bloodstain sample from the ground, 3 bloodstain samples from the edge of the bloodstain, 2 bloodstain samples from the perimeter of the bloodstain, 1 stain sample from a wiping mark on the outside of the west wall of the farmhouse, and 2 bloodstain samples from the shoe print next to the dirt road on the north side, totaling 9 bloodstain samples. Preliminary judgment indicates that all of them are the bloodstains of the deceased. All of them have been collected and sent to the laboratory for DNA testing to confirm the source of the bloodstains and to test whether they are mixed with the bloodstains of the suspect."
"Third, traces of sharp objects and metal residue. A linear sharp object mark, 12 cm long and 0.8 cm wide, with clean edges, was found on the ground north of the pool of blood. One sample of metal residue was extracted from the surface of the mark. A 2×1.5 cm silver-white metal fragment was extracted from the ground below the right hand of the body. The fragment had sharp edges and was stained with blood. It was preliminarily identified as a tool used in the crime or a fragment of an item carried by the suspect. A small amount of metal residue was extracted from the fallen stalks in the cornfield to the north. The metal residue composition was consistent with that of the sharp object mark on the ground. All of the above metal samples have been extracted and sent to the laboratory for testing to determine the metal material, the type of knife, and the source of the fragment."
"Fourth, fiber and other physical evidence. A black cotton fiber was extracted from the fallen weeds on the east side of the courtyard, which is consistent with the fiber material of the deceased's T-shirt; a silver-white metal button with a diameter of 1.5 cm was extracted under the poplar tree on the south side, which is inconsistent with the button on the deceased's clothing, and is presumed to be a piece of clothing that the suspect had taken off; a cheap flue-cured cigarette butt was extracted from the abandoned well house, with saliva residue on the surface, which was extracted for DNA testing to determine whether it was left by the suspect."
"In addition, two fresh wiping marks were found on the inside of the main room door, which were irregular strips, but no clear fingerprints were found; fresh trampling marks and soil residue were found on the window pane on the left side of the south side, which are presumed to have been left by the suspect when he climbed the window to enter the scene; no fresh traces or physical evidence related to the case were found on the interior walls, roof, other windows, side rooms and other outdoor areas."
"III. On-site investigation findings. An investigation was conducted within a 10-meter radius centered on the vacant farmhouse. A fresh wiping mark was found on the outer side of the west wall of the farmhouse, and one stain sample was collected and included in the bloodstain sample. There were traces of fallen weeds in the courtyard, which are related to the suspect's shoe prints. Footprints of the suspect and drops of blood were found on the dirt road to the north. Trampled and fallen cornfields to the north showed signs of metal residue. There were drag marks in the open space to the south, but their connection to the case cannot be determined at this time. A suspicious cigarette butt was found in the abandoned well house. No abnormal traces or physical evidence were found in other surrounding areas."
IV. Preliminary Investigation Conclusions and Analysis. Based on the on-site investigation, the preliminary analysis is as follows: Location of the crime: The main building of the vacant farmhouse was confirmed as the center of the crime scene. After committing the crime, the suspect fled the scene along the dirt road to the north, passing through a cornfield and an abandoned well house, possibly stopping briefly inside the well house. Method of the crime: The victim died from excessive blood loss after being stabbed in the chest. Based on the distribution of bloodstains at the scene and the condition of the body, the murder weapon was a single-edged sharp knife, approximately 12 cm long and 0.8 cm wide; the metal material requires further testing. The suspect may have been wearing gloves during the crime, leaving no clear fingerprints, or may have deliberately cleaned up fingerprints. (End of Chapter)
