Net King Whale Fall

Chapter 695 Just in case 1

Sanada Rin walked towards the source of the sound. It was a bedroom. The bed in the center was not the usual tatami, but a wooden bed with a hollow interior and a lid that could be lifted for storage.

However, instead of discarded junk, it contained a skeleton.

Genichiro Sanada looked unwell, but thankfully, he didn't vomit like last time.

Shinichi Kudo stood expressionless, one hand on the edge of the bed, directly opposite the skeleton.

Ah-Da and Sanada Rei's eyes met. "I'll contact the police station and ask them to send someone over."

"it is good."

Sanada Rin put on gloves and did a quick check. There was a noticeable dent in the skull, and there were multiple points of impact, indicating that she had been attacked from behind, seemingly out of spite, and had suffered a series of heavy blows that ultimately led to her death.

The remains were female, and based on the pubic symphysis, it can be inferred that the deceased was between 35 and 40 years old and had given birth.

Furthermore, Sanada Rin looked at the scratches around the eyes on the skull, which were still clearly visible many years later, and one could imagine how much pain the deceased had endured back then.

The fact that this person is here, hiding in the bedroom, already tells us who they are.

"We suspect the deceased is Kawako Sakai, who went missing years ago. We will wait for the forensic DNA comparison to confirm."

Shinichi Kudo's expression was complicated. "Does he really have to turn against his own chosen wife?"

"This is nothing," Sanada Rin patted him on the shoulder. "A wife is actually the first to notice changes in her partner, but most of the time she chooses to deceive herself."

"Perhaps Sakai Kawako noticed something was wrong with Sakai Shinji back then and wanted to run away, just like Sakai Shinji's mother did back then, abandoning her son and leaving without a care."

"But Kawako Sakai was unlucky and failed. This action may have angered Shinji Sakai, who was already abnormal, and that's why he killed her in a fit of rage."

“A psychopath who takes pleasure in killing cannot be judged as a normal person; his mind was already driven mad by the abuse he suffered in his childhood.”

“In this environment, even a born saint like Yuichi Sakai would fall into depravity.”

"He has evolved, but he cannot shake off his childhood trauma. The victims he chooses still bear the shadow of his mother."

"Yuichi Sakai had long forgotten the love his mother once had for him, and only felt hatred for his mother's desire to escape. With each beating he was subjected to, this hatred became etched into his heart."

Shinichi Kudo took a deep breath. "I know."

How could he not know? He understands the reasoning, but when faced with the truth, he still feels reluctant to do so.

“Yuichi Sakai is right here. If we catch him and bring him to justice, we can stand in front of the victim’s body with a clear conscience.”

She had promised the forensic doctor that she would catch the murderer, and breaking her word was not her principle.

Genichiro Sanada restrained his gaze from wanting to see the remains, and memorized every word that Rei Sanada had said.

Seeing that it was almost ready, Sanada Rin pointed to the door and said, "Come over here first, I have an idea."

The group reappeared in front of the photo wall in the study. Shinichi Kudo knew that Rin Sanada wouldn't do anything without a reason. He looked through the photos one by one, his brow furrowing again. Something seemed off.
"Ah Da just sent me a message. Officer Matsuno caught the car that Sakai Yuichi used to escape in. Unfortunately, there were only his bodyguards inside. Sakai Yuichi got away."

"All checkpoints are heavily guarded, and ports large and small have long been under surveillance. Sakai Yuichi can't escape. The key question is where he can hide, and where he would go at such a dangerous time?"

"The main subjects in these photos have changed to varying degrees, but the only constant is the building in the background."

"This place must be very important to both Nobuji Sakai and Yuichi Sakai."

"And we still haven't found the original crime scene of Yuichi Sakai."

Shinichi Kudo's eyes grew brighter and brighter. "I understand what you mean. What a coincidence." He had the same thought.

Sanada Rei shrugged slightly. "Anyway, there's nothing to do now. The police who are here to take over have already arrived, so going there won't take much time." She could already hear the sirens. Ah-Da took out his keys. Great, he really liked being a driver.

After exchanging a few words with the police, they left, preferring to leave early rather than late.

Sanada Rin took a picture of the photo wall and compared it with the surrounding scenery. It was indeed this place, but the area was quite large.

Although this is a factory area, it is by no means deserted, and there are quite a few pedestrians coming and going.

Shinichi Kudo squinted at the people around him. "He's really got some nerve."

"Isn't that what makes it more exciting?"

“It’s very challenging to satisfy his inflated and excessive desire for control. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if he hid someone across from the police station.”

"."

"."

Shinichi Kudo turned his head and rolled his eyes at Rei Sanada, thinking, "You bastard."

Sanada Rei pretended not to see anything by not looking up. She had put herself in the killer's shoes before and could roughly guess the location the killer would choose. However, just to be on the safe side, Sanada Rei thoroughly investigated the personnel changes in those suspected areas.

Without going into anything else, she discovered a very interesting name.

Unfortunately, she had seen both this surname and this given name in the pseudonyms that Yuichi Sakai had used.

Shinichi Kudo also had some recollection of it.

“It’s hard to come up with a name, especially for someone like Yuichi Sakai who has so many aliases. He might not even remember what his own name is.”

"A 5% chance is a coincidence, but a 95% chance is worth taking a gamble on and trying. Of course, you can vote against it; I'm open to advice."

As the old saying goes, since we're already here, we can't waste such a good opportunity.

Shinichi Kudo's lips twitched. Listen to advice? Ha, would he even listen to a single word?
Ah Da doesn't offer any opinions; sometimes it's best to just ignore such comments, because they won't make a difference anyway.

Genichiro Sanada came here to learn, just following the crowd.

"Very good, no one objects, let's go."

There were bulletproof vests in A-Da's car. Sanada Rin grabbed one and gave it to Sanada Genichiro. "You have the ability to protect yourself, so I'm not too worried. But swords have no eyes, so it's better to be safe than sorry."

"If you encounter danger, stay away, don't go towards it, understand?"

Leaving Sanada Genichiro alone in the car isn't reassuring, so it's better to go together. Besides, Sanada Genichiro is quite skilled and can handle ordinary people without any problem. As for the really tough ones, there's A-Da here.

Genichiro Sanada remembered it and said, "Okay."

The first impression upon entering was the emptiness. This used to be a packaging factory, where workers did secondary processing. But once the workers left, the factory was deserted, leaving only a few piles of waste in the corner.

This place is so empty that if you encounter danger, there's nowhere to hide.

Sanada Rin pulled out the gun from her back and cocked it because she smelled a hint of blood. She turned on her wristwatch light, which shone on the ground, revealing a small dark dot in the dust.

Ah Da squatted down, extended his fingertips over it, rubbed it with his thumb, and sniffed it lightly. "Fresh." This kind of judgment was quite simple for him.

"We've found the right place!" Ah Da immediately sent the location to the police station, "Come quickly!" (End of Chapter)
