Chapter 29 Am I really that scary?

Setting up a tent was routine for Lin Chen. He quickly set up the tent under the shade of a tree.

The weather was quite hot, and Lin Chen was covered in sweat. Just as he was about to wipe it off, Gu Yuexi walked over with a clean white towel in her hand.

"You're all sweaty, let me wipe it off for you."

Gu Yuexi stood right in front of Lin Chen, almost touching him as she wiped his sweat. The gesture was intimate, and her faint fragrance was clearly audible.

After wiping away her sweat, Gu Yuexi took a bottle of water and handed it to Lin Chen: "Have some water."

Lin Chen smiled and took it, glancing at Wu Jiajun before bursting into laughter: "It's working! His eyes are practically spitting fire."

Gu Yuexi snorted, "Serves him right! I've already told him I don't like him, but he still insists on using his family connections to cling to me. He's like a piece of chewing gum, so annoying."

"What's next?"

Gu Yuexi smiled and pointed to a small hill above the waterfall in front of her, saying, "They'll be having a barbecue for a while, let's go sit there."

Lin Chen laughed and said, "You think it's not exciting enough and want more stimulation?"

Gu Yuexi smiled and said, "Let's get it done in one go, so we don't have to worry about it."

Gu Yuexi turned to Wu Jiajun and called out, "Let's go for a walk. Call us when the barbecue is ready."

Wu Jiajun gritted his teeth inwardly, but forced a smile and said, "Where are we going? Be careful of wild animals."

Gu Yuexi casually took Lin Chen's arm: "With Lin Chen here, I'm not afraid. He will protect me."

The two walked along the deserted path. Lin Chen casually broke off a tree branch and started to rummage through the grass as he walked.

Gu Yuexi asked curiously, "What are you doing?"

Lin Chen laughed and said, "It's like stirring up a snake in the grass. There's a high probability of snakes in the jungle in summer. If you walk straight over and startle it, it might turn around and bite you. I'll pry it open first to scare it away and make it safer." Gu Yuexi said, "Oh, you know so much."

Lin Chen smiled. During his five years with Dark Blade, he had carried out many missions, and the ability to survive in the wild was a must. This was nothing compared to what he had just accomplished. He was already considered civilized if he hadn't eaten raw snake meat.

The two crossed the waterfall and headed up the small hill. As they approached the hill, a brightly colored snake, at least two meters long, suddenly darted out of the bushes beside them as Lin Chen swung his stick.

Although the snake was at least two meters away from Gu Yuexi, she screamed in terror and instinctively jumped to the side.

Originally on a hillside, Gu Yuexi's jump caused her to lose her balance and fall downwards. Lin Chen reacted quickly and grabbed her.

Gu Yuexi was terrified by the snake and instinctively hugged Lin Chen tightly, her voice trembling: "There's a snake!"

Gu Yuexi snapped out of her daze, her face flushing slightly. Just as she was about to leave quickly, she suddenly noticed that from this angle, she could see the camp, and it seemed that many people in the camp were looking up at her.

Gu Yuexi's movements slowed down slightly, and she slowly left Lin Chen's embrace in a relatively natural manner.

Lin Chen was a little puzzled. He looked back and suddenly realized what was going on.

This woman is acting.

"That's enough. You're getting carried away with this performance."
