Police officer Chen Shu

Chapter 410 Auxiliary Police Officer Pu Shu

Chapter 410 Auxiliary Police Officer Pu Shu
As dawn broke, Chen Shu, still half asleep, turned off his ringing phone, took a deep breath, and struggled to get up and change into his training uniform.

Time waits for no one. At nearly thirty, he was considered quite old for the special police unit, and training with these young lads had really taken a toll on his bones!

With only half a month of training time remaining, and adhering to the idea that "the early bird catches the worm," Chen Shu had no choice but to grit his teeth and gather several promising special police officers who were not yet married to begin a half-month on-site training program.

Being stationed at the unit, as the name suggests, means living and eating at the unit.

Originally, it was thought that there would be resistance to the implementation of the training plan, but to everyone's surprise, the team members were quite cooperative. At least in front of Chen Shu, they all patted their chests and agreed to the plan.

To reward the team members for their positive attitude, Chen Shu immediately stated that if the team still came in last place in the competition, his name could be hung upside down on the display board on the first floor. Conversely, for every place the team improved, they would receive an extra three days off after the competition.

The morning training is relatively simple. It involves running five kilometers along the riverside road not far north of the team headquarters. There is no time requirement; you just need to finish the run within twenty minutes.

During this month-long training camp, the team members' physical fitness underwent a dramatic transformation, from initially saying "I can't do it anymore" and "I'm exhausted" to it becoming a habit. As Chen Shu repeatedly said afterward, "If you feel tired, it means you haven't done enough. Still tired? It's okay, just keep going for another month and you'll get used to it."

Of course, Chen Shu, as the team leader, also led by example.

After several years of working at the police station with irregular eating and sleeping habits, Chen Shu's body had become slightly deformed. However, after this period of exercise, his body has gradually recovered, and he has even developed some muscle definition, making him look much healthier and more energetic.

Although he hasn't returned to his peak during his time at the police academy, he's at least much better than before when he always had panda eyes.

The long-distance run ended just after seven o'clock. Chen Shu led the team back to the unit and dismissed them. Some team members went to the bathhouse to take a shower, while others went to the canteen for a hot breakfast.

Chen Shu glanced at Chen Chuan, who was squatting on the steps by the door of the security room with his head drooping, and knew that this sensitive guy must have encountered some kind of trouble again.

He walked over, patted his bottom, and sat down. Chen Shu took out a pack of Liqun cigarettes from his pocket and handed it to him: "Want one?"

Chen Chuan pushed it back, his eyes fixed on the pond five meters away, where the carp that the office clerk Zou Qing had just put in last month were swimming around, occasionally making "gurgling" sounds.

Chen Shu wasn't in a hurry. He took the cigarette Chen Chuan had pushed back, lit it for himself, and chuckled, "The sun must have risen in the west! Our young master Chen has actually stopped smoking? You know, a cigarette before a meal is better than being a living god!"

"Stop fooling around." Chen Chuan, who had just finished running five kilometers and wasn't excited at all, said softly and listlessly.

His eyes were fixed only on the pool opposite him.

He watched as several carp swam around, and after a long time, they slowly surfaced, then suddenly jumped out of the water with a "bang".

"Book, do you think I'm suited to be a policeman?" Chen Chuan finally asked.

Chen Shu hesitated for a moment and knew that this bored guy had done something stupid again.

Rich people have so many things to worry about. Unlike them, they just earn a salary, do their job well, and make do with their food. They don't have so many other thoughts.
Since Zhang Yang's interview two weeks ago, Chen Chuan's 400-meter steeplechase time has hovered around two and a half minutes. This time is not good; it's barely passing. Based on past performances, this time wouldn't earn the team even half a point in a competition.

Chen Shu found Chen Chuan's depressed state somewhat amusing.

"Don't be silly, you've done a great job. Last time you arrested Old A, the team awarded you a second-class merit, which is the organization's recognition of you as a police officer! But speaking of which, if you don't want to be a police officer, then hurry up and leave, I won't stop you."

"Second-class merit? Don't lie to me." Chen Chuan's spirits finally recovered somewhat, and the corners of his mouth unconsciously turned up, automatically ignoring the second half of Chen Shu's sentence.

"The second-class merit award needs to be sent to the provincial level for approval, which is why it has taken so long."

"Haha, does that mean all my kids' schools are sorted out? I'll have to brag to my old man about it later." Chen Chuan's eyes lit up, and most of the gloom over his poor performance in the 400-meter obstacle course was blown away.

Chen Shu exhaled a smoke ring, then handed the cigarette to Chen Chuan, laughing, "You're just being dramatic. If you have time to fuss over this, why don't you help me mentor these young people? They have quite a few problems too."

After saying that, he gestured with his chin towards the entrance of the brigade.

Chen Chuan snapped out of his daze and looked in confusion towards the gate, following Chen Shu's gaze. There he saw Pu Shu, a rich second-generation, arguing with a middle-aged woman dressed in expensive clothes.

With his sharp eyes, Chen Chuan immediately recognized that this woman was quite wealthy. She was dressed in a Chanel suit, carrying a small Hermes bag, and looked very glamorous. Although it was still early morning and the sun wasn't too strong, the woman was still holding a small parasol, partially obscuring her face. Even from a distance, one could sense that this woman must have been a beauty in her youth, the kind of woman with exceptional poise and presence.

At this moment, Pu Shu, who was originally very active in the brigade, lowered his head and dared not face the woman. He looked like he had done something wrong and was being scolded.

Chen Chuan felt a deep connection to the two men, finding them to be just as bad as he had been back then, and his interest in them grew even stronger.

After a moment, Pu Shu suddenly looked up and shouted, "Why! Why! Why!"

This series of questions startled Chen Shu and Chen Chuan, who were squatting at a distance watching the show. However, the woman in front of Pu Shu remained calm and even had a stronger presence than Pu Shu.

She looked at Pu Shu seriously and said, "Your family has indulged your willfulness for a year now. It's time to come home."

Pu Shu was panting heavily, seemingly wanting to say something but stopping himself.

The middle-aged woman raised her hand to stop Pu Shu's explanation and said in a deep voice, "Pu Shu, you need to understand, you're not a real SWAT officer. You're just an auxiliary police officer. Is a policeman who can't even hold a gun still a policeman? I really don't know what you're insisting on?"

These words shattered Pu Shu's heart. His face turned deathly pale, and he did not refute them. After a long silence, he finally said, "Mom, I understand. You can go back now."

Knowing her son's personality, the woman turned and swayed her graceful figure as she left the SWAT team with satisfaction.

As he was leaving, he glanced back at the huge police badge hanging high above him, his eyes filled with complex emotions and a deep disdain: "They're just a bunch of high-ranking security guards."

Pu Shu stood at the door, staring blankly in the direction the woman had left, before slowly walking back.

Hey, Pu Shu!

As Pu Shu passed the back door of the security room, he was called back by a shout and found his captain Chen Shu and senior Chen Chuan squatting on the steps, smiling and waving at him.

Seeing the two men's kind smiles, Pu Shu, who had just turned twenty, suddenly had tears in his eyes: "Captain Chen."

When Chen Shu saw that the young man was not in a good condition, he looked around and, fortunately, it was still early and no one was coming to work. He quickly pulled Pu Shu to the second floor of the security room.

After the three sat down, Pu Shu choked up and said, "Captain Chen, I...I...maybe I can't be a member of the assault team anymore."

"why?"

Because...because I'm not ready yet.

"Is it because you're not ready yet, or is it your family?" Chen Chuan asked bluntly, but was stopped by Chen Shu sitting next to him.

Chen Shu knew that the young man in front of him really liked the job of a special police officer; otherwise, he wouldn't have rushed to Chen Shu's office to sign up when the assault team was being formed.

Clearly, this matter is related to his family. However, it's a private matter, and Chen Shu shouldn't interfere.

He nodded and said calmly, "Okay, I respect your choice. You can go now."

"This..." Chen Chuan stood up. The rich second-generation in front of him had a similar experience to his own. Looking at him was like looking at his younger self.

He trained relentlessly for the 400-meter obstacle course, while the pampered Pu Shu also endured a lot of hardship for the 5-kilometer unarmed and 5-kilometer cross-country races.

However, unlike Chen Chuan, Pu Shu's talent in long-distance running was unexpectedly good. In just over a month of training, his performance improved dramatically. According to Chen Shu's private calculations, Pu Shu was actually the person in the assault team who was most likely to win in individual competitions, besides Xu Mingliang.

Chen Chuan approached Pu Shu, gently patted his back, and said with a hint of pity, "Pu Shu, are you really sure? It wasn't easy for our commando team to be formed, and we'll definitely be put to great use soon. If you have any difficulties, why don't you tell us?"

Pu Shu lowered his head and wept uncontrollably.
