Chapter 2051 Experts Should Not Easily Intervene in Special Causes and Effects
"I'm already ninety-nine years old, and the fortune teller adds another ten years to that. I've given up on everything and have no more thoughts. What am I going to do if I don't die in my old age?"

This is a seven-character quatrain from the Song Dynasty. Bian Mu doesn't remember who wrote it. He only remembers that when the poet was 93 years old, he was preparing for his death. Among his friends was a master of Yi Jing (I Ching), who, after asking about the poet's birth date and time, seriously examined the old man's face and palm, repeatedly deducing the outcome. In the end, he concluded that the poet could live another 10 years. Half believing and half doubting, the poet suddenly had a thought and sighed, "All things are abandoned and no longer thought about." A few years earlier, he had already let go of the complicated and trivial matters of life. He felt that more than 90% of his peers had died, and he was already an exception as a lucky one. However, when he heard that he had more than 10 years to live, he still had an innate and infinite expectation for the continuation of life.

The phrase "What will happen if you don't die when you're old?" seems somewhat helpless on the surface, but it actually implies everyone's desire to live a few more years.

As people grow old, no one wants to die. They cherish the fading years of their lives, without exception; it's just human nature!

Since the forest ranger, Old Liang, was convinced that Teng Daili was the best candidate to act as the head of the third branch of the National Medical Center, there must be a reason behind it. In this regard, Bian Mu chose to trust Old Liang's old experience, and the reason was actually quite simple: Old Liang had always seen through the hearts and minds of ordinary people much better than he had.

According to common sense, Bian Mu's normal reaction should be to take this opportunity to make a good impression, at least to make Teng Daili "owe" him a favor, so that it would be easier to bring up the matter of becoming the acting head of the branch in the future.

Even the so-called "state-owned" clinics that open on the street must still adhere to at least 70% of the mainstream social customs and traditions. This is Bian Mu's biggest feeling about life since coming to the city.

In the midst of the bustling world, Bian Mu has always followed a logic that couldn't be more ordinary: seek fame first, then fortune! Without fame, no patients will come to him, and his livelihood will immediately become a problem; in fact, without enough fame, various social resources will not be tilted in his favor. In such a large city as Lijin, if he hadn't already made a name for himself, he might not even be able to take care of his own younger sister. Whenever he encounters a problem, he has to ask for help, and people might not even be willing to pay attention to him!

As a result, Bian Mu has made much "progress" compared to when he first came to the city, and he is increasingly learning to respect worldly norms.

however……

I really can't interfere in the affairs of my relative Teng Daili. I can't even prescribe some "placebo" or other health supplements to appease both families. That would be too unethical!

Bian Mu defines himself as a "great doctor," a proper professional TCM physician. He resolutely avoids doing anything that is directly related to medicine but requires deception and evasion. He knows that if he hesitates around this "red line," he will slide into the type of Cen Songxue, Lan Bingru, and Zhao Xicheng within three years. This is not to say that their medical ethics are lacking; Bian Mu has no such intention.

However, Bian Mu always believed that the famous doctors represented by Cen Songxue and the other two were definitely not great doctors.

Even if their medical ethics remain intact, their professional skills are already at their peak!
The underlying reason may be that they have developed to a certain extent and can no longer adhere to the red line of "great doctors"!
In Bian Mu's view, Teng Daili's current comprehensive medical knowledge was simply incapable of comprehending that level of understanding; frankly, she wouldn't understand it at all. No matter how powerful the new Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), or rather, the "numerical medicine" school, is, it is still derived from traditional TCM, and its core essence has remained unchanged for thousands of years! Traditional TCM doctors have a taboo when treating patients, and to this day, many TCM masters still adhere to it privately: professional TCM doctors should not easily intervene in the special karmic causes of others!
If you were to break down and explain profound theories of traditional Chinese medicine to Teng Daili, her first reaction would be that it's just an excuse, and she wouldn't want to bother. Just say it directly! Why beat around the bush like this?

According to the medical records provided by Teng Daili, that relative had already entered the final countdown of his life without even realizing it. However, his "kidney essence" had deteriorated to a very thin state. Interestingly, his other five elements and six energies were still in good condition. This was like carrying an extremely expensive Yuan blue and white porcelain vase on a glass plate while walking on ice. The surface of the ice looked fine, at least it could easily support the maximum weight of an adult. If the so-called well-meaning people around had some life experience or a bit of shrewdness, they would stand on the shore and keep quiet while the person carefully carried the vase and walked steadily on the ice.

The ice surface won't break, the glass plate won't slip and shatter along with the vase, and the person walking on the ice won't slip and fall into the water. Without any friendly warnings, everyone can get by.

If someone were to kindly shout right now: "Watch out! The ice is so thin! Come back! Don't go any further!"
Well! The person who was walking peacefully on the ice suddenly shuddered in fright, slipped and fell, the glass plate shattered, the Yuan blue and white porcelain worth hundreds of millions was also shattered, and the person and the fragments fell into the lake. If the people on the shore did not rescue him in time, his life would really be in danger!
The reasoning is that simple!
but……

If Zhao Xicheng were willing to take over, things would be a completely different story. In recent years, Zhao Xicheng has been involved in high-end health products, especially traditional Chinese medicine health products. Last time, Bian Mu was accompanied by Su Linwen to visit the traditional Chinese medicine clinic run by Teacher Zhao, and she was deeply impressed by the unique atmosphere there!

In addition, Zhao Xicheng has always been known in the Lijin TCM community for his ability to "bring the dead back to life" and "turn the rotten into the miraculous." Such rumors may be exaggerated, but Zhao Xicheng's strength is beyond doubt. Bian Mu has never had any doubts about this. He believes that Zhao Xicheng will understand everything as soon as he takes a pulse.

However, Zhao Xicheng has a very mature and special procedure for dealing with this situation. He would never stand on the shore and shout "Be careful!" He would intervene in a key point that he shouldn't, giving Teng Daili face, and carefully build a "protective layer" around the very thin "kidney base" of Teng's relative in his own unique way, so that the old man could pass away peacefully as much as possible. As for whether he could prolong his life as the Teng family wished, Zhao Xicheng had no interest at all.

There's no way around it, Zhao Xicheng is Zhao Xicheng, a famous doctor who is controversial but has always strictly adhered to the bottom line of a renowned doctor!
Bian Mu had little experience in this area, and either he was extremely troubled or he was more of a hindrance than a help, ultimately ending up with no good outcome for either side!
After politely seeing Teng Daili off, Bian Mu watched as Dr. Teng's graceful figure reappeared on the sidewalk. He knew that a weight had been lifted from Teng Daili's heart, and her steps became noticeably lighter.

……

After greeting Dr. Gong, Bian Mu casually called Lao Hou and asked him to wait at the studio.

When I arrived at the place, wow! Old Hou was a true old-fashioned businessman. He couldn't let the studio just sit empty. Clearly, he had divided the studio in two. One half was still used for the old business of contacting suppliers and delivering goods; the other half was filled with three rows of antique-style wooden bookshelves. Whether they were genuine or not, they were now completely full. At a glance, they were filled with traditional Chinese medicine classics, some genuine and some fake. In addition, there were old-fashioned steelyards, old-fashioned acupuncture needles, and old-fashioned porcelain cupping jars... It was indeed the style of a serious researcher of traditional Chinese medicine culture.
