Chapter 2234 That kind of circle is very concerned about face
Ginseng belongs to a special family of plants and has been considered highly spiritual since ancient times. It has relatively strict requirements for the surrounding climate, soil, water, magnetic field, energy interaction, etc. If it is cultivated artificially on a large scale, for a long period of time, and repeatedly, regardless of the type of ginseng, it is easy to be infected with diseases and pests such as "ginseng rust", "ginseng spots", "ginseng mold", "ginseng withered nails", "ginseng weeping", etc. Traditional ginseng farmers collectively refer to them as "small ginseng poison".
Ginseng farmers have always valued their reputation, so they naturally buried the waste and left it to decompose slowly in nature. As a result, the farmland used for planting ginseng seedlings was left idle.
Ginseng cultivation is a highly technical skill, and ordinary people cannot handle these precious ginseng plants. Ginseng farmers are divided into three categories and nine grades according to their technical level. Some experienced ginseng farmers will not let their ginseng fields go to waste. They will often replant a type of small-leaf sand ginseng called "Luo Haihu" in the fields. It is a "working ginseng" carefully cultivated by generations of ginseng cultivation masters. The sand ginseng produced thereafter is mostly consumed by the ginseng farmers themselves and is not allowed to be sold in the primary market in principle.
"Luo Haihu" is an artificially improved ginseng variety. Its main nutritional components are inferior to those of cultivated ginseng, making it a type of inferior ginseng. However, this improved ginseng has special agricultural effects such as purifying the soil environment, regulating trace elements, and neutralizing magnetic fields. Of course, these are professional secrets within the special circle of ginseng farmers.
This "Luo Haihu" variety is also easy to grow, with a survival rate and a yield rate that are almost 70% higher than that of ordinary radishes. Large-scale planting does not cost much and is relatively easy to manage.
After being purified by this "Luo Haihu", the ginseng fields can continue to grow various kinds of ginseng, and the harvested ginseng can gradually meet the testing standards stipulated by the relevant departments.
It is unclear when it began, but skilled traditional Chinese medicine doctors gradually discovered that this "Luo Haihu" was actually a high-quality medicinal material with remarkable effects in clearing certain internal evils from the body. Later, the traditional Chinese medicine community named this ginseng "Qingshen" (clearing ginseng) to clear various internal evils and micro-toxins from the body. As long as it is used properly, it can often achieve very good results at a very low cost.
In recent years, as ginseng cultivation techniques have become more mature, few people use this traditional method to clean ginseng fields anymore, making it difficult to find high-quality "cleaned ginseng" on the market.
Unlike others, Bian Mu encountered all sorts of patients every day. Some patients were grateful for Bian Mu's skillful treatment in relieving them of their long-standing ailments, while others thoughtfully collected some of the finest ginseng and presented it to the clinic as a token of their gratitude.
Bian Mu used his medicine cauldron and other medicinal guides, with radish as the guide, to process a portion of the "pure ginseng" into "ginseng essence". He then added other green excipients to make it into granular "pure ginseng" granules. He would use it on suitable patients, and it has been very effective all along.
Lu Yisi had been pampered since childhood, and working consecutive night shifts was really taking its toll. Before long, a lot of turbid and evil qi had accumulated in his body. Drinking some "Qingshen" ginseng essence could indeed have the effects of clearing the mind, replenishing qi, and dispelling evil.
After Bian Mu gave a brief explanation of the origin of the so-called "ginseng essence", Lu Yisi's understanding of traditional Chinese medicine was unconsciously deepened.
"I'm fine with everything on my end. How's the medicine coming along?" Lu Yisi asked with concern.
Shaking his head slightly, Bian Mu spread his hands, adopting an awkward and helpless expression.
"The medicine cauldron isn't finished yet?!"
"Hmm! It seems like it's stuck with Pan Shaojie right now." Bian Mu replied helplessly, pursing his lips.
"Who?! Young Master Pan?! I know him! How about... I talk to him?" Eager to escape, Lu Yisi hurriedly tried to agree to the offer.
With a wry smile, Bian Mu shook his head again. "He's just an idiot. The root of the problem probably lies with Lei Xiaoxuan. As for who's behind Lei Xiaoxuan, I don't know. So... even if Young Master Pan gives you face, you can't easily bring up the matter of the medicine cauldron. If you rashly mention it, he only needs to tell the truth and explain his difficulties. Can you force him to do anything about it? Right?" Bian Mu guessed with a smile.
Bian Mu deals with prominent patients all day long, so he understands to some extent the ways people interact in that circle. It's quite different from ordinary people. Lu Yisi's circle values giving each other face and they don't easily touch on each other's taboos.
"Oh...can't I borrow it temporarily?" Lu Yisi changed her approach.
“Those medicine cauldrons are useless to them. If they can’t be successfully auctioned off as antiques, they’re practically worthless! You might not know this, but medicine cauldrons aren’t simply for heating and refining special medicinal herbs into high-purity extracts according to ancient secret formulas—those are just child’s play. Real medicine cauldrons are actually the core equipment in ancient pharmaceutical companies’ production workshops, and they can’t be opened without a key. They might know a little about it, and they probably know they can’t use such a magical artifact with their limited skills. So, they’re using those things to make things difficult for me, forcing me to back down. Then they’ll take a step back and talk to me about some kind of ‘win-win’ cooperation. Do you think I can go along with their pace?!” Bian Mu explained with a smile.
"Is that so...? That's a bit difficult. So... you can't cure illnesses without that medicine cauldron?! I just don't believe it!"
"It's not that it's untreatable, nor is it that we can't find a similar simulated scenario as a temporary alternative. Isn't it more targeted, takes less time, and is more effective? Forget it, let's think of another way! What percentage of your antibiotics have you reduced?"
“Thirty percent has already started using Tylenol, it’s very gentle and has almost no side effects,” Lu Yisi replied with a smile.
"Then what are you worried about? Go home and rest for a week!"
"Hey! I've already taken all ninety-nine steps, what's the last few? Actually, working the night shift does have its advantages. Before, I did overlook some details of hospitalization and treatment. Consider it a learning experience!"
“Sure! A true man can bend and stretch! I’ll trouble you for a few more days. I’ll get some emergency medicine for that man. At most, the treatment period will be extended a little.” Bian Mu replied casually.
"Then please hurry. The patient's liver and kidney metabolic indicators have not been ideal. Every day earlier is better than nothing. If the liver and kidneys are damaged, I won't be able to explain it to my mother!"
"It's not that exaggerated, wait for my message."
"Please, please!" Lu Yisi said sincerely, asking Bian Mu to find a decent restaurant for a simple meal.
……
As evening approached, Bian Mu had one male patient left, a coal miner in his late forties, who was having difficulty with his lung qi. Bian Mu chose acupuncture treatment, and today was the sixth day. The man's lung qi symptoms had obviously dissipated somewhat. Given time and with patient treatment for a while, he should be fine.
