Chapter 248 Besieged
"A bunch of people with their brains slammed in a door are chasing after Grandpa."

The medic, perched on a tree branch, finally breathed a sigh of relief and relaxed completely after the Blue Army soldiers below had left.

He wiped the sweat from his forehead with his sleeve and complained about the Blue Team that was relentlessly pursuing him.

After several hours of lying in wait and running away, he finally reached the edge of the forest.

The Blue Army that just passed by was the last force of the Night Tiger Reconnaissance Company deployed here.

"I wonder if the guys who bombed us are still nearby?"

Through the gaps in the leaves, the medic peered into the distance to observe the surrounding situation.

The mountains were shrouded in mist in the early morning, greatly obstructing visibility, so the medics could see very little.

"Alright, let's rest for a bit and keep running. I wonder how the others are doing?"

The medic, who had been running around all night, drifted off to sleep, muttering to himself. Little did he know that Xiwa was leading a group of people toward him.

"Could these people really be invisible? Xiao Zhuang hasn't shown himself since he slipped away," said the Blue Army soldier searching for them.

They didn't sleep a wink all night, searching for people in the woods.

To put it bluntly, they basically traversed the entire forest.

"Have they already broken through?"

Another player from the Blues has suggested another possibility.

Everyone looked at Xiwa, who was leading the team. If the Red Army soldiers really escaped, all their losses and efforts would be in vain, and the Night Tiger Reconnaissance Company would lose face.

"How could there be no sound at all during the breakout? You're underestimating the armored brigade that's coordinating the operation from the outside."

Their defensive lines are very dense, making it extremely difficult for the Wolf Fang to successfully infiltrate.

I could believe that one or two people could force their way out and escape.

After a busy night, Xiwa's face was full of fatigue and his eyes were bloodshot, but even so, he still forced himself to stay alert and not let any clue slip by.

Now that Wolf Fang and Night Tiger have a grudge, if they can't produce outstanding results, the reputation the company has built up will be damaged.

The loss itself is not a big deal; what we fear most is the change in the higher-ups' attitude towards them after the exercise ends.

The treatment received by elite and ordinary companies is vastly different.

Xiwa and the others spoke in very low voices. There were still at least three Red Army soldiers in the woods that hadn't been captured, so they tried to make as little noise as possible.

But the sanitation worker resting in the tree canopy still heard it; he was a light sleeper and a little noise would wake him up.

"It seems an armored brigade is stationed on the outskirts. No wonder the artillery fire was so intense when we were being bombed earlier."

The medic pondered for a moment, then began to worry about how to break through the encirclement.

Just like those few Blue Army soldiers who passed by said, it's extremely difficult for a brigade to infiltrate without making a sound when deployed around the area; he simply couldn't think of a way.

"If Chang Ning were here, things would be much easier; maybe he could come up with an idea."

Some people don't seem particularly outstanding normally, but you feel quite uncomfortable when they're not around.

The medics were missing Chang Ning terribly. If Chang Ning were here, even if they couldn't break through, they wouldn't encounter any danger for a while.

The area is fraught with danger right now, and if we're not careful, we could be cornered by the Blue Army, just like right now.

"Come down from the tree! You've been exposed!" The Blue Army soldier who shouted was quite angry and his tone was rather impolite.

Looking at the few Blue Army soldiers who had gone down and then returned from under the tree, the medic hugged the tree trunk, feeling incredibly embarrassed.

He didn't look very handsome right now, with one foot reaching down to grab a tree branch as a foothold to walk down, when suddenly this group of Blue Army soldiers appeared.

"Blue team brothers, please calm down, don't let anything go wrong, I'm coming down right now, hehehe~"

The medic clumsily climbed down the tree; with that kind of skill, no one would believe he was a special forces soldier.

Special forces? That's all!

The group of Blue Team members under the tree had a sudden thought that they could do it too, since the medic's behavior was just too deceptive.

His movements were clumsy; you could easily mistake him for a new recruit.

"Wolf Fang would take someone like you? You didn't get in through connections, did you? Hahaha~" one of the Blue Team members joked.

"I'm a military medic in Wolf Fang, the kind who doesn't participate in training, so I'm basically a clerical worker."

"I didn't get in through connections; I got in through the entrance exam, a legitimate university student."

In fact, he wasn't lying. Before joining the army, he was a surgeon who graduated from medical school.

"A military medic? Or a military medic who doesn't participate in training? Does Wolf Fang have no one else left and have sent someone like you out?"

Clearly, the Blues didn't believe the medic's side of the story; his account was too full of holes.

How could a civilian official be sent to carry out such a deep mission behind enemy lines? Anyone with a modicum of common sense knows that this is simply impossible.

The man from Wolf Fang in front of them is dishonest and full of bad intentions; even when surrounded, he still tries to deceive them.

"You better behave yourself, kid. If you don't want to suffer, you'd better tell me the truth!"
If we find out you've lied to us, I'll show you why flowers are so red!

As they talked, the medic slid down the tree trunk, and the feeling of his feet touching the ground was so reassuring.

"Don't dare."

The Blue Team started threatening him, and the medic waved his hands repeatedly to indicate that he would definitely cooperate.

There were five people on the other side, and he was the only Red Army soldier left. If he didn't manage to keep the Blue Army soldiers in front of him calm, the medic was really afraid that the other side would give him no chance and then use a righteous mob attack on him, like shooting him.

He wasn't afraid to take action at all; a mere five people couldn't make him panic.

"Hold your head with your hands and squat down!"

Seeing that the guy in front of him was all smiles and didn't seem threatening, Lan Jun thought that he might really be a clerical worker as he said. His vigilance gradually eased, and his tone of voice was no longer as fierce as before.

"Hey, okay, okay."

The medic did as instructed, holding his head and slowly squatting down in front of the Blue Army.

His bright eyes were not as honest as he appeared; instead, he constantly used his peripheral vision to observe the surrounding environment, checking whether there were other Blue Army members nearby, and planning a route for the subsequent withdrawal.

After the target squatted down, a Blue Army soldier took out handcuffs and walked towards the medic, warning him not to do anything that could cause misunderstanding between the two sides.

The Blue Army soldier walked towards the medic from the front, which happened to block his comrades' view. Perhaps because the target was too cooperative and did not seem to pose any threat, and because they outnumbered him, they did not think the target was a threat and did not pay attention to this "small detail".

The opportunity was right in front of them, and the medic's smile became even brighter.
