Today is September 18th.

Remember our martyrs and never forget our national humiliation!
Tomorrow I'm taking my son to Changchun Airport to see the airport terminal. We can see Fatty and Sister Pomegranate there.

There were more people on the boat now.

It's not just Chinese people; foreigners also love to watch the excitement, especially now that they're on a long journey, where boredom can be amplified.

There was no internet back then, so there were very few things to do to pass the time. It was mostly just reading books, playing chess, or having a deep and thorough conversation with someone of the opposite sex.

The small boat was pulled up by the pulley system, and the body was carried aboard by the sailors.

Then Elisa and Xu San went over to them.

"Is he dead?" Elisa wasn't afraid at all and immediately moved closer to the first mate to ask.

"He's not dead!" The first mate's English had a slight accent, but Xu San could still understand him.

Through the intelligence gathered by Huanji, Xu San also learned that the first mate was Portuguese.

Xu San knew about Portugal, Lisbon, and Faro because he played the Age of Exploration game when he was a child.

However, that's all I know.

Oh, and he also knows that Portugal plays football very well!

Gathering his thoughts, Xu San walked from behind Elisa to the front and placed his fingers on the corpse's neck.

The pulse isn't too weak, so it seems the patient's condition is alright and there's still hope for recovery.

"Does he need emergency treatment?" Xu San asked, addressing Elisa while also inquiring about the first mate.

"The water in his stomach has been squeezed out!" The first mate patted the man's face. "He's lucky; he hasn't been at sea for long."

As he spoke, the first mate took two hot water bottles from under the man's armpits. "He's only been able to survive this long because of these things."

Xu San reached out and turned the man's face. "He has yellow skin, so he should be Asian. He's either from an island nation or South Korea. He doesn't look like a Chinese person."

The first mate looked up at Xu San, then began searching through the man's damp clothes. After searching for a long time, he found nothing but a few gold leaves.

Although the gold leaf was beautiful, the first mate did not embezzle it. After glancing at it twice, he put it back into the man's pocket.

After doing all this, he would wave his hand and signal the sailors to carry the man away.

Watching the man being carried away, Xu San asked, "How do you usually handle this kind of situation at sea?"

The first mate pondered for a moment, "Generally speaking, unless they are pirates, we will usually drop them off at the next port."

"Is there a fee?" Xu San asked again.

"We won't accept it, but if we encounter nobles, we will receive some rewards!" the first mate replied.

Xu San raised his chin and gestured in the direction the man was being carried away, "I don't know if that man is a nobleman, but he should be of high status."

The first mate nodded, indicating that Xu San was right.

"Sir, are you from Japan or China?"

“I’m from an island nation, and I’m also a journalist,” Xu San said with a smile. “After I return home this time, I’ll write a report praising the First Mate’s internationalist spirit.”

"You know I'm the first mate?" The first mate was a little surprised.

"It's easy to see that your crew respects you."

“You have a good eye!” The first mate returned a slight smile. “My name is Robert Raul, and I am indeed the first mate of this ship!”

As he spoke, Robert extended his right hand.

Xu San extended his right hand and shook hands with him. "Edogawa Conan." (End of Chapter)
