Liang Jian: I have a canteen

Chapter 1448 Raul Wakes Up

The captain's cabin door was tightly shut.

The world was shut out, along with its sounds. In its place, there was a denser silence, filled with the emptiness of countless lives.

The walls, from the dark teak flooring to the high ceiling, are covered with specimens of various shapes and sizes. They were once arranged in a certain order, but now they show a solemn disorder over the years.

At sunset.

The round porthole on the west side, like a single, molten eye, poured in the last rays of light without reservation.

Thick, golden-red light slowly poured into the chamber filled with specimens.

Raul raised an eyebrow and reached out to cover his forehead, blocking the somewhat glaring sunlight.

"How long have I been unconscious?" Raul asked in a hoarse voice, without opening his eyes, only pursing his chapped lips.

Captain David glanced at his watch and said, "About ten hours."

"What time is it now?" Raul continued to ask.

"Five seventeen."

Raul lowered his hand from his eyes, glanced at the sunset outside the window, and then turned to David. "The people who attacked me were Conan Edogawa and his woman, those two from the island nation."

"Is it them?" David stood up. "I'll send men to arrest them. Don't worry, they can't escape on this ship."

Raul propped himself up on the bed and moistened his lips with saliva again. "I guess we can't catch them. They should have already gone into hiding. What we need to do now is be careful that they don't try to sabotage us from the shadows."

“Okay!” David did not object and accepted Raul’s suggestion directly.

Oh, not a suggestion, an order. Raul's words just now carried a hint of command.

“Oh, right!” David suddenly remembered something, “There was a German with that Edogawa guy who seemed to be causing trouble on the ship. I sent Tori and the others to talk to him.”

Raul frowned. "Why did you send Tori? If something happens to him, who will translate those books on the island? And the map of the underground palace—he didn't hand it over to us obediently."

"No way! Tori and Andy, who were protecting him, went too."

Raul's brow remained furrowed even after hearing these words. "Hopefully, nothing bad will happen to him. He shouldn't be interested in something so trivial. Why would he go?"

"I don't know either. He was probably bored on the ship and happened to overhear my conversation with Sisford, so he volunteered to go."

Raul exhaled a breath of stale air and licked his lips. "Pour me some water."

“Okay!” David turned around, walked to the small bar, picked up a glass of cold water, and poured himself a glass of plain water.

Raul took the water glass, took a small sip, and said, "Tell me about that German."

David nodded, sat down opposite Raul, and began to recount the whole story.

David's words were concise; he explained the matter clearly in about three minutes.

Raul took another sip of water. "You shouldn't have sent someone to talk to him. The best solution would have been to just send someone to arrest him."

"However, there are always many tourists around him. If the methods are too harsh, it may cause panic."

"Panic!?" Raul looked up disdainfully at the low ceiling, a cruel and eerie smile spreading across his face. "They'll understand what panic truly means when night falls!" (End of Chapter)
