Huanji's English wasn't very good; it had that distinctive Japanese accent that sounded stiff and unpleasant.

Lisa looked at the dumplings that Huanji handed her with a puzzled expression, but she still accepted them.

After hesitating for a moment, she put it in her mouth and took a small bite, then she frowned deeply.

The black meatballs weren't bad, but they weren't very flavorful either. However, they were incredibly hard, to the point that Lisa felt they were harder than a baguette that had been sitting out for a week.

"It's hard, isn't it?" Huanji also took out a black pill, put it in her mouth, and said to Lisa, "You can keep it in your mouth and wait for it to melt a little."

Lisa pursed her lips, glanced at the black pill in her hand, closed her eyes, and put it in her mouth.

"Where are we?" Lisa asked.

"That must be the island!"

"Is it the island Mr. Edogawa mentioned?" Lisa continued to ask, then added, "Regardless of the process, have we achieved our goal?"

Lisa spoke in a calm and unhurried tone.

"You should take off your clothes first. You'll easily catch a cold if you try on clothes like this!"

Lisa nodded, then began to take off her clothes, glancing around as she did so, as if afraid someone might suddenly appear.

"Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on things for you. I'll let you know if anyone comes near," Huanji said, taking off the last bit of clothing she was wearing.

A sea breeze blew by, and Lisa shivered, hugging her arms. Then she picked up her wet clothes and wrung them out forcefully.

The Phantom Princess next to her was doing the same thing.

"Aren't you cold?" Lisa asked, looking at Huanji who remained unmoved by the cold wind.

"It's cold!" Huanji shook the clothes in her hands and answered simply, "Actually, it'll pass if you just bear with it." After putting her clothes back on, Huanji looked into the depths of darkness. "Follow me for a bit. There's a grove of trees over there. We can chop some firewood and make a fire!"

Lisa followed the gaze of the Phantom Princess, but could see nothing but terrifying darkness.

Can you see the woods in the dark?

"I can see a little bit!" Huanji wasn't telling the truth. Her night vision was only slightly better than Lisa's, and she could only make out a rough outline. The reason she said there was a forest was because it was a phantom memory in her mind.

In fact, this illusory memory is not her memory, but Himiko's memory.

Ever since Her Majesty the Queen moved into her body, Huanji felt that she had gained some memories that were not her own.

These memories are vague, yet they feel very real; those fragments of memory seem as if they really happened.

She was terrified of this; she was truly afraid that she would lose herself and slowly be assimilated by the queen.

"Don't worry!" The Queen's voice echoed in his mind, causing Huanji to pause in her dressing.

After getting dressed again, Princess Genki said to Himiko in her mind, "When I was unconscious at sea, were you controlling my body?"

"Yes! If it weren't for me, you would probably have drowned long ago."

"Then this woman was also rescued by you!"

"I just grabbed her!" Himiko replied, but Genki felt she was being a bit hypocritical, because along with the information came a hint of evasion.

Letting out a breath, Huanji fastened her buttons and said to Lisa, "Let's go!" (End of Chapter)
