Zhuang Hualin and his son Xiang Pengfei came to Suzhou during the National Day holiday and went back to their parents' home as soon as they got off the train.

After receiving the news, Zhuang Chaoying immediately rushed home with his wife and children to see his sister whom he had not seen for many years.

As soon as the family stepped into the house, Wang Gang felt that the atmosphere was a little off.

In the living room, the father and the grandmother sat on one side with gloomy faces, Zhuang Ganmei and his wife sat on the other side with indignation, and a middle-aged woman hugged a child and stood in the middle.

"Birch forest." Zhuang Chaoying rushed over excitedly when he saw the middle-aged woman.

"Big brother."

The brother and sister were very happy to meet each other, especially Zhuang Chaoying, who saw the little boy in his sister's arms and asked, "This is Pengfei, right?"

Zhuang Hualin nodded, pushed the little boy and said, "Pengfei, call me uncle."

"Hello, uncle." The little boy called politely.

"Okay, okay." Zhuang Chaoying touched Xiang Pengfei's little head, and then introduced his family to his sister.

"Hua Lin, this is your sister-in-law Huang Ling, nephew Tu Nan, and niece Xiao Ting."

Out of politeness, Wang Gang and Zhuang Xiaoting also called her aunt.

"Tunan has grown up so much. I heard from grandma that you skipped grades in both elementary and junior high school, and were recommended to a key middle school."

Zhuang Hualin seemed to be more interested in Wang Gang and ignored his niece Zhuang Xiaoting.

"Hua Lin, why didn't you tell me in advance when you came back so that I could pick you up at the train station." Zhuang Chaoying said, holding his sister's hand.

"I don't want to trouble you, brother. You are very busy with your work." Zhuang Hualin said embarrassedly.

Before Zhuang Chaoying could say anything, Zhuang Ganmei's wife said sarcastically: "I see you are not embarrassed to bother us!"

Zhuang Chaoying and Huang Ling looked at Zhuang Ganmei and his wife in surprise, and then they also realized that the atmosphere was wrong.

"What happened?" Zhuang Chaoying looked at his parents and asked.

Mother Zhuang sighed and said, "Hua Lin wants to send Pengfei to Suzhou to go to school?"

Zhuang Chaoying said happily: "Hua Lin, are you going to move back to Suzhou?"

Huang Ling heard the hidden meaning, but did not show much joy.

"Brother, I want Pengfei to settle down in Suzhou to go to school, and Lao Xiang and I will continue to stay in Guizhou."

"Ah, why?" Zhuang Chaoying asked puzzled.

"The school environment in Suzhou is much better than in Guizhou. We don't even have a decent high school there." Zhuang Hualin said with a bitter face:
"Lao Xiang and I can work as hard as we can, but we don't want Pengfei to have no future and stay in the mountains for the rest of his life."

Zhuang Chaoying understood and began to feel troubled.

It is no small matter for Xiang Pengfei to come to Suzhou to go to school. Not to mention the household registration issue, just taking care of a child is a huge responsibility.

Zhuang Hualin wanted his son to live with his father and grandmother, but obviously the old couple and Zhuang Ganmei and his wife disagreed.

It's not surprising when you think about it. Mr. and Mrs. Zhuang value sons more than daughters. They didn't like their own daughter, so how could they accept their grandson?

As for Zhuang Ganmei and his wife, they were even more unwilling. They were used to being selfish and had no time to take care of other people's children.

Before Zhuang Chaoying's family arrived, Zhuang Hualin had knelt down and begged his parents for a long time, but the old couple refused to give in.

Zhuang Hualin couldn't help but look to his elder brother Zhuang Chaoying, wanting to seek help.

"Chaoying, you are the eldest and should help your younger brothers and sisters. What do you think about the Hualin matter?" Zhuang's mother said.

Zhuang Chaoying was in a difficult situation. He wanted to help his sister, but Huang Ling was the one in charge at home.

"Huang Ling." Zhuang Chaoying looked at his wife with twinkling eyes.

Huang Ling said firmly, "If you want to take in my nephew, I won't agree." Zhuang Chaoying said awkwardly, "Hua Lin suffered a lot in Guizhou. She never asked for anything from her family in all these years. Peng Fei is still young. It would only take an extra pair of chopsticks for him to live here."

Huang Ling said angrily: "Zhuang Chaoying, listen to what you are talking about, is this about adding a pair of chopsticks?"

Wang Gang pulled Huang Ling's hand and said, "Mom, don't say that in front of the kids."

Huang Ling was stunned and couldn't help but look at Xiang Pengfei who was curled up in Zhuang Hualin's arms. Her heart couldn't help but soften.

"Tuanan, take your brothers and sisters to the supply and marketing cooperative to buy some candy." Huang Ling took out the money and ticket and handed them to Wang Gang.

Wang Gang called Xiang Pengfei and took Zhuang Xiaoting to the supply and marketing cooperative.

After the child left, Zhuang Hualin immediately knelt down in front of Huang Ling.

"Sister-in-law, please help me! Pengfei is still young and cannot be trapped in the mountains for his whole life. He will not cause you any trouble in the future. I will send you my salary every month." Zhuang Hualin pulled the corner of Huang Ling's clothes and pleaded.

"Hua Lin, get up first, let's talk it over."

Zhuang Chaoying and Huang Ling carried Zhuang Hualin on the left and right, and Zhuang's father and mother did not move their stools from beginning to end.

"Huang Ling." Zhuang Chaoying comforted his sister, and then said to Huang Ling: "Just consider this as me begging you, okay?"

Huang Ling said coldly: "It's not that I'm unkind, it's not that simple to take care of a child. Food, clothing, housing and transportation are all things that need to be taken care of. If something happens to the child, who would dare to take the responsibility?"

Zhuang Chaoying fell silent upon hearing this, remembering that when his daughter Zhuang Xiaoting was sick with a fever, he stayed by her side day and night.

If something happened to his nephew while he was living with him, he would have a hard time explaining it to his sister.

Zhuang Hualin said, "Don't worry, sister-in-law. If anything happens to Pengfei, I will never blame you."

Huang Ling said with a cold face: "But I will blame myself."

Zhuang Hualin paused when he heard this.

Huang Ling turned to look at Zhuang Chaoying and said, "My opinion is that it is definitely not possible to send Pengfei back to Suzhou alone. Why don't we all think of a way to transfer the Hualin family back to Suzhou?"

"Ah!" Zhuang Hualin looked at Huang Ling in surprise.

Zhuang Chaoying's eyes lit up, and he looked at his parents and said, "Mom and Dad, Hualin is your daughter. It should be easier if we move her household registration back."

"No, absolutely not." Zhuang Ganmei was the first to stand up and object.

"Ganmei, Hualin is your biological sister. If it weren't for her, you would have been the one to go to the countryside!" Huang Ling sneered.

Zhuang Ganmei's face turned blue and red, and she felt as if she had eaten a fly.

"There is only so much space at home. Where can my sister and her family live if we move back?" cried Zhuang Ganmei's wife.

Zhuang's father and mother didn't like their daughter, and they also said: "Besides, Hualin's work relationship is in Guizhou. What can they do if they are transferred back?"

When Zhuang Hualin saw his parents' attitude, his heart sank.

Huang Ling asked: "Hua Lin, what do you do in Guizhou?"

Zhuang Hualin said: "I passed the medical school entrance exam in Guizhou and now I work as a nurse in a health center."

Huang Ling turned to Zhuang Chaoying and asked, "Nurse is great! This job is very popular. Chaoying, is your school clinic short of staff?"

Zhuang Chaoying said: "I really don't know. I have to go back to school to ask."

Huang Ling said: "My idea is that everyone should ask each other whether Hualin's work relationship can be transferred back to Suzhou. As long as the job can be secured, we can find a place to live later."

Zhuang Hualin was very touched to see that her sister-in-law had been helping her find solutions, unlike other members of the Zhuang family who refused.

"Hua Lin, don't worry about Peng Fei's matter. We are all family. I will help you if I can, but don't blame me if it's beyond my ability."

"Thank you, sister-in-law." Zhuang Hualin cried with emotion. (End of this chapter)
