Wang Gang remained a listener throughout and did not offer any opinions on Manny's family affairs.

In his view, Manny's childhood was unfortunate, but also a stroke of luck amidst misfortune.

Manny's parents got married very early; it was a match made through an introduction, and they got together without any emotional foundation.

After marriage, the two were still quite loving, but the huge cultural differences caused many conflicts.

Manny's father was among the first batch of college students after the resumption of the college entrance examination, while her mother was just an ordinary worker with only a primary school education.

Later, Manny's father went into business and his business grew bigger and bigger, but Manny's mother remained stagnant.

Manny's mother has a younger sister, and the two are quite far apart in age.

An hour later, Manny fell asleep in her chair, and Wang drove her home.

That night, Manny slept very soundly. When she woke up, Wang Gang hadn't left; instead, he cooked her some porridge.

Manny and Wang Gang sat at the dining table in silence for a long time, until they finished breakfast, when Manny finally spoke:
"Do you have time today? The old man has an appointment with a lawyer to discuss his will. Can you come with me?"

“Not in the morning, I promised Mi Lai I’d help her move. How about this afternoon?” Wang Gang said, putting down his chopsticks.

“No problem, the lawyer has an appointment for 3 pm, right at the hospital.” Manny said happily, “You can take my car, just come pick me up this afternoon.”

"Okay," Wang Gang said, "Then you can wash the dishes."

"Mmm," Manny whispered.

Wang Gang stood up, said goodbye to Manny, and left her house directly.

Manny walked to the window and watched Wang Gang drive away in his car, feeling incredibly at peace!

"Even though he's eight years younger than me, he seems more mature than me," Manny muttered to herself.

Wang Gang drove home first, changed his clothes, and then went to Mi Lai's villa.

Miley had been waiting for a long time since early morning, often standing by the window to look out.

When Wang Gang arrived in Manny's car, Mi Lai's expression froze slightly, but she quickly recovered. Mi Lai had a lot of luggage, three large suitcases in total. Wang Gang helped her load them into the car, but they couldn't all fit in the trunk, so they had to be placed in the back seat for now.

Once inside the car, Mi Lai asked directly, "Why did you drive Sister Manny's car?"

Wang Gang said frankly, "Something happened at her home. We were together all night, and I have to go over there later."

Miley looked at her strangely and laughed, "I didn't expect you to be so busy."

Wang Gang asked, "Are you going straight to the new house?"

Miley nodded and said, "Okay, let's go straight there."

Wang Gang started the car and slowly drove towards the residential area where Lu Tao lived.

Behind Wang Gang, a Mercedes-Benz followed closely. When Wang Gang's car was fast, the Mercedes-Benz was fast too; when he was slow, the Mercedes-Benz was slow too.

Wang Gang quickly noticed, glanced at the rearview mirror, and smiled at Mi Lai, "It looks like your dad's car in the back."

Upon hearing this, Mi Lai quickly turned her head and saw the familiar car. She immediately took out her phone and called her father.

"Why are you following me? Get out of here."

"I had an appointment with someone this morning, and it just happened to be on my way," Mi Lixiong said in a panic.

"Don't think I don't know what you're up to." Mi Lai snorted coldly, hung up the phone, and then told Wang Gang to pull over to the side of the road to make way for his father's car.

Mi Lixiong immediately understood what his daughter meant, and could only helplessly drive past Wang Gang's car and continue forward.

“Take another route,” Mi Lai said to Wang Gang. “I don’t want my dad to know where I live now.”

Wang Gang shrugged, thinking that Mi Lai's efforts were in vain. With Mi Lixiong's power, finding out where his daughter lived would be easy.

However, Wang Gang still started the car, turned left, and drove around to the residential area.

After helping Mi Lai carry her luggage upstairs, Wang Gang prepared to make his graceful exit.

"Pack your own luggage," Wang Gang said. "I have to go first."

Miley said anxiously, "Didn't you say you'd teach me how to cook?"

Wang Gang said, "It's really not possible today. I'll teach you again tomorrow!"

Miley said happily, "Then it's a deal."

Wang Gang suddenly remembered something and said to Mi Lai, "Oh right, I saw Lu Tao yesterday and beat him up."

"Ah!" Miley exclaimed nervously, "Why did you hit Lu Tao?"

Wang Gang explained, "Lu Tao falsely accused me of cheating on him and also accused you of having an affair with me before you broke up with your boyfriend."

Mi Lai was taken aback, not expecting Lu Tao to look at her like that.

"He was the one who cheated first, why say such things?" Milai said, somewhat hurt.

"Trying to shift the blame and lessen your guilt, huh?!" Wang Gang curled his lip in disdain. "I don't know what you still have feelings for in a man like that?"

Miley lowered her head and remained silent. After a moment's hesitation, she asked, "Is he badly injured?"

Wang Gang glanced at Lu Tao's house across the street and said, "Didn't you buy a spy binocular? Look for yourself!"

After saying that, Wang Gang took the car keys and left.

Mi Lai reached out her hand, seemingly wanting to persuade Wang Gang to stay, but ultimately gave up.

After Wang Gang went downstairs, he found Mi Lai standing at the window looking at him, so he waved goodbye.

Mi Lai shrank back in fright, hiding in the shadows, her heart pounding, not even knowing what she was afraid of.
