Chapter 1323: Digging out bones and extracting blood
"With so many of our descendants, surely many of them will be enfeoffed to desolate lands and become kings and nobles there?" someone joked.
They knew that in the remote wilderness there were self-proclaimed kings and nobles, not appointed by ancient kingdoms, and the two were not comparable at all!
"A man with tens of millions of people dares to call himself a king or marquis? He tyrannizes and oppresses the poor in this desolate land, with no one to restrain him. He is just self-proclaimed and doesn't know the immensity of heaven and earth. A real king or marquis is a powerful figure who commands hundreds of millions of people. A single servant of his can easily wipe out a tribe with tens of millions of people."
The scene changes again, and the beautiful lake instantly becomes blurry.
The majestic Emperor City is magnificent and grand, like a divine city fallen from the sky. It covers a vast area and has an endless population. The city walls alone are like mountain ranges, stretching endlessly, majestic and awe-inspiring.
"The Fifteenth Prince shot and killed an ancient remnant species—the Pixiu—on the battlefield of the Hundred Clans, which for some reason shook the entire world and caused great chaos!"
The news sparked heated discussions.
"We have confirmed information. It was just a young beast, but it was far stronger than ordinary ancient remnants. It is suspected that an adult Pixiu with a very pure bloodline is about to enter the battlefield of the Hundred Races!"
The capital city of the Emperor was shaken.
"Father shot and killed the young of a Pixiu with very pure bloodline. This... has caused a great disaster!" A handsome young man paced back and forth in the palace, looking very uneasy.
The royal mansion was shrouded in a misty haze, with rare birds singing their songs above the palace, leaving dazzling streaks of light in their wake. Within its walls lay crystal-clear lakes, interconnected waterways, nestled rocky hills, lush trees, and expansive gardens, a truly magnificent sight. It was a paradise on earth, brimming with spiritual energy.
"I hope Father can withdraw from the battlefield of the Hundred Clans as soon as possible." A beautiful woman held a baby, her brows furrowed, her expression filled with worry.
"It's too late to say anything now. The news has already reached the capital. The shooting of the Pixiu cub must have happened many days ago. Most of what was bound to happen has already happened." The young man clenched his fists, his sword-like eyebrows furrowed, and lightning flashed in his eyes. The room rumbled and thundered.
The sleeping baby opened its pure, large eyes, bewildered.
"Don't frighten the child," the beautiful woman said.
“These past few days have been too agonizing, and I’ve neglected Hao’er. Why is he so sleepy? And why do I feel the aura of runes within him?” The young man turned around.
"Oh, you noticed it too? I thought it was just my imagination. How could there be runes inside someone so young?" the young woman said, puzzled.
"Could it be..." The handsome man suddenly opened his eyes, and two bolts of lightning shot out of the window, startling a flock of auspicious birds, which quickly took flight.
"What came to mind?" the beautiful woman asked.
"Among the true strongest humans, some will eventually develop sacred bones, revealing their own primordial imprint and possessing their own exclusive primordial treasure techniques!" The man's words were resounding, then turned to excitement as he said, "A very few individuals are even born with primordial treasure bones, like the Golden-Winged Roc or the True Hou. They are born with them, and the treasure techniques they develop are enough to make them stand out from the crowd. It is no exaggeration to call them supreme bones!"
The beautiful woman was surprised to hear this, and looked at the adorable baby in her arms with an incredulous expression. Her hands were trembling with nervousness.
"Let me investigate this thoroughly!" The young man said decisively, striding over.
The baby was very curious, not knowing what they were going to do. He blinked his big eyes and happily opened his little arms, wanting them to hold him.
After examining him, the man was shocked. His fingers trembled, and the usually calm and decisive man could barely speak, stammering, "Supreme Bone... born that way!"
What does this mean? In the future, this child will be able to stand shoulder to shoulder with the ancient ferocious beasts of the Heavenly Rank, and will be able to fight against the Golden-Winged Roc and the True Hou with pure and flawless bloodlines. His unique primordial treasure techniques will shake the world and be engraved in the history of the human race.
The woman took the baby in her arms, gently kissed his rosy cheeks, her eyes sparkling with a bright light, and said, "Whether he has the Supreme Bone or not, he is our child, and we must let him grow up happily."
Several days later, news came from the battlefield of the Hundred Races that the adult Pixiu was unstoppable, rampaging through the vast battlefield, and no one could rival it.
Even with a multitude of experts by his side, the Fifteenth Prince could not be stopped. He was chased for hundreds of thousands of miles, had an arm torn off, and almost all the bones in his body were broken.
Finally, with the help of others, he used several precious bones from an ancient remnant to set up a divine array, thus escaping with his life, but his whereabouts remain unknown.
He was severely injured, and it was hard to say whether he would survive. He simply disappeared, his fate unknown, and did not return to the capital.
"No, I must go find my father!" Upon receiving the news, the young man stood up abruptly and decided to head to the southern border.
“The clan has already dispatched a large number of experts, and the Human Emperor has also issued an edict ordering all the feudal lords to search for and rescue it. How much of a help can you possibly make?” The young woman was afraid that her husband would impulsively risk going to find the Pixiu.
"My father's fate is unknown. No matter what, I must do my best to find him!" The man was resolute and insisted on going.
The beautiful woman knew her husband's temperament; once he made a decision, he wouldn't change it. But she was genuinely worried that he would go after that terrifying Pixiu, so she said, "I'll go with you. There are two precious techniques that require our combined efforts to reach their full potential, and their power is unparalleled."
"No, you still have to take care of Hao'er!" the man refused.
"How can I trust you?" The woman shook her head, her expression gentle, and said, "With so many people in the clan, how could we not take good care of Xiao Hao? Unless the ancient ferocious beasts breach the capital, who would dare to cause trouble at my royal residence?"
The man thought about it and realized it made sense.
Shi Hao had secretly informed the two elders in charge of the clan about the Supreme Bone growing inside his body. He figured they would treat it as a rare treasure and that nothing would happen to it.
This matter was classified as top secret because it was of utmost importance. One Shi Yi was sufficient to be identified openly, as he was born with double pupils and his identity would be immediately apparent. Shi Hao, however, was not easily detected; only his closest confidants could perceive him at close range. Therefore, there was no need to leak the information, lest he become a target and die young.
"Eleventh brother and sister-in-law, are you going on a long journey? There's really no need for that. All the experts in the clan are here; they will surely bring the Fifteenth Master back."
"Yes, don't worry, good people are always protected by heaven, Fifteenth Master will definitely be alright!"
Despite the advice of their clansmen, the couple insisted on setting off.
"Don't worry, Eleventh Brother, I will take care of Hao'er. I will let him spend more time with Yi'er. When they grow up, let them work together to conquer the world and protect all races," a young woman said with a smile.
She was exceptionally beautiful and was Shi Yi's mother. Her smile was charming, revealing her pearly white teeth and a friendly demeanor. She had a gifted young son and held a very high position in the clan.
"Thank you very much, sister-in-law. It's enough that a few elders are watching over things. It would be too much trouble for you," the couple said.
"Sister-in-law, you're too kind. We're all family. Don't say things like that," the young woman said gently.
Finally, the couple set off, leaving the ancient kingdom for the battlefield of the hundred tribes.
"Yi'er, you should spend more time with Xiao Hao in the future. He has extraordinary talent and will be your right-hand man when he grows up." After returning to her palace complex, the young woman instructed her son with double pupils. "Yes!" The three-year-old child was very composed, his behavior far exceeding his age.
With the help of his clansmen and the large number of servants, there was nothing to worry about. Except for the first few days when he was a little fussy and missed his parents, he was easy to take care of after that.
A few days later, the young woman brought Shi Hao to her residence. Seeing her son's eyes shining with a divine light as he stared intently at the baby, she asked in bewilderment, "Yi'er, why do you keep staring at your little brother?"
“He is no ordinary person. There is a bone inside his body with complex and unfathomable runes,” Shi Yi said calmly.
The young woman was taken aback. She knew that her child was extraordinary, possessing double pupils, a characteristic of ancient sages and gods, who could see through many origins.
Suddenly, she was horrified, and in an instant, she remembered something. She asked urgently, "You said there was a bone inside him covered with primordial runes?"
“Yes,” the child said calmly.
"Born with... the supreme bone!" The young woman trembled immediately, thinking of the ancient legend, and couldn't help but feel a surge of emotion.
For a long time, her expression shifted between anger and uncertainty as she stared at the innocent baby. A flash of malice crossed her eyes, and then she turned to her son and instructed him, "Don't tell anyone!"
The child nodded without saying anything.
Several months passed in the blink of an eye, and little Shihao grew more and more adorable. In the blink of an eye, he was eight or nine months old. He could already walk on his own and had started talking. He had big, bright eyes, fair skin, and was as pretty as a porcelain doll. Anyone who saw him couldn't help but pinch his little face.
During this time, the young woman treated Xiao Shihao very well, as if he were her own son. In the end, she simply took him to her residence and took care of him along with Shi Yi.
"Grandma, I want to go to the garden to see the red-feathered cranes. Aman said they are very beautiful, their bodies are bright red like fire, and their calls are very melodious." The little one blinked her big eyes and said, her long eyelashes trembling slightly. Her voice was childish and had a babyish quality, making her seem delicate and fragile.
Normally, children this young wouldn't be able to walk so nimbly, and walking would be quite difficult for them, but he has no problem doing so.
"Ah Man? That's a servant girl from a lowly family. Don't listen to what she's saying. Later, your aunt will take you to see the phoenix and the five-colored peacock king," the young woman said.
"Aman is a good older sister, very kind and beautiful. She often tells me stories, she's such a nice person," Xiao Shihao said innocently, blinking his big eyes.
"Okay, let's go see the red-feathered cranes after dinner. Later, I'll take you to see the phoenixes and the five-colored peacock king," the young woman said with a smile.
"Grandma is the best!" The little one looked up, clasped his little hands together, his eyes full of stars, and showed a hopeful expression.
Then he turned around and said, "Big brother, let's go play in the backyard now, there are lots of children there."
"I won't go!" Shi Yi refused, sitting cross-legged there, his young age behaving as steadily as a rock, silently cultivating his bone script.
"Oh, then I'm going to play." The little guy skipped and ran to the far-off "backyard" to play with a group of servants' children, where he laughed happily.
The little boy is pretty and cute, and very kind. He never bullies the servants' children and often plays with them, so everyone in the household likes him very much.
A few days later, the young woman, along with Shi Yi and Xiaobudian, left the royal mansion and drove to a manor to see the descendants of ancient divine birds such as the Luan bird and the Five-Colored Peacock.
"Grandma, where is the phoenix?" the little one asked curiously, somewhat puzzled. After arriving at the manor, they went straight into an underground palace.
"You'll see it in a little while," the young woman said expressionlessly.
Upon arriving at a secret room, the young woman lit up a wisp of rune on her fingertip and pressed it onto the little boy's body. However, the precious bone within him glowed and dissolved directly, without causing him to faint.
"As expected of the Supreme Bone!" The young woman's eyes burned even brighter, knowing that the precious bone had only just begun to grow!
She clapped her hands, and a shadow appeared not far away. Like a ghost, it silently approached, picked up the little one, and pressed him onto the cold bed.
"Grandma, what are you doing?" This was only eight or nine months old. While other toddlers were still innocent and ignorant, he asked with pure innocence and kindness.
A dazzling silver blade flashed by, flowing with intoxicating luster, slicing open the little one's chest. Blood gushed out instantly, and at the same time, a hazy divine radiance, flowing with the mysteries of the heavens, with endless runes, flickered there incessantly.
"It hurts!" the little one cried out in pain, his eyes filled with terror. He never expected to be treated like this. He was only eight or nine months old; what could he possibly know?
"It's really troublesome that we can't make him faint," the young woman said coldly.
Beside him, another young child—Shi Yi—watched quietly, speechless, making one wonder if he was really not even four years old.
Blood flowed freely, the little one's face was pale, his big eyes were lifeless, and he kept crying out in pain, wailing and weeping blood.
"Please, please, there must be no mishaps. I've checked rare bone books, and there's a record that this grafting method can succeed. My son has double pupils; he's destined to be supreme in heaven and on earth!" The young woman shouted anxiously.
"Grandma..." The little one looked up, his face streaked with tears, and stretched out his little hands, pleading for some relief from the excruciating pain.
However, the young woman remained unmoved, her face icy cold, only urging the ghostly figure to be careful and not let the Supreme Bone lose its life force.
"Alright!" Finally, the dark figure let out a deep, beast-like roar, and a ball of light emerged from the little one's chest. It possessed an indescribable magic, and even as it began to grow, it made people's souls tremble, radiating endless divine brilliance and illuminating the entire secret chamber.
"Yi'er, it's your turn. You must hold on!" The young woman said anxiously to the other child.
The child nodded without saying anything.
He lay on a jade bed, a silver knife slicing through him, blood flowing down his chest.
"Be careful, don't make any mistakes!" The young woman said to the dark figure with a fierce look in her eyes, clearly distressed for her child.
On the cold bed beside him, the little boy looked extremely haggard and pained, his large eyes brimming with tears. With each blink of his long eyelashes, glistening tears rolled down his cheeks. He stretched out his little hands with difficulty, as if trying to grasp a sliver of warmth, and pleaded in a trembling voice, "Grandma..."
The young woman glanced at him coldly, then ignored him, turning to look at the other bed with a loving expression and a very gentle voice, whispering, "Yi'er, you must hold on. This entire region will be yours in the future, because... you are a born supreme being!"
Beside him, the little one, stripped of his Supreme Bone, lay alone on the cold bed, his snow-white face streaked with tears, slowly sinking into unconsciousness, murmuring, "Mother..." In his most painful moment, he was calling for his true family, a heartbreaking sight. (End of Chapter)
