Chapter 1620 (Part 2)
Han Li ignored Anita Koch's question, calmly took a sip of his coffee before speaking.

"I have no interest in investing in Jia Ning Group. This acquisition is simply because I am interested in these companies."

However, while interest is interest, I won't be a sucker just for it.

I can accept acquisition prices at or below market value for these companies, but I absolutely will not accept any premium.

Anita Koch: "Han, as far as I know, these industries are currently quite profitable, so I'm afraid it won't be easy to acquire them with your terms."

Han Li smiled faintly, tapped the paper on the table with his finger, and then spoke.

“Miss Anita, the reason I acquired them was simply to save trouble, and as you can see, most of these companies and industries are just ordinary stuff.”
Only the few hundred licenses under the name of the taxi company are considered good, and it's a bit difficult to get them, but that's not the reason I bought them at a premium.

Let's take taxi licenses as an example. If they really want me to pay more, I'd rather spend money to ask Miss Anita to help me apply for a new batch of taxi licenses from the Hong Kong government, and avoid arguing with the current drivers.

Although this matter is difficult for me, I have faith in Miss Anita's abilities. There will absolutely be no problem with this. Do you think I still need to pay a premium?

Anita Koch was completely bewildered by Han Li's words. She had never imagined that someone would acquire an industry in this way. The people at Jia Ning Group were not fools, and there was no hope of reaching an agreement with the conditions Han offered.

Even if the deal falls through, Anita Koch will still receive a basic fee, and she may also receive a batch of taxi license plate requests later.

So even though Anita Koch was internally complaining, she outwardly agreed to Han Li's request.

Next, Han Li finalized some details with Anita Koch and signed the agency contract, thus concluding the matter.

Han Li watched Anita Koch's nonchalant expression as she left, a strange smile on his face. He finished his coffee in one gulp, paid the bill, and left the coffee shop where two important deals had been made.

Doesn't Han Li know that the conditions he proposed are unacceptable?

Of course I know that this condition was actually set by Han Li on purpose.

Last night, Han Li saw in his study that Jia Ning Group had announced the cancellation of its interim dividend payment and instead issued a 10-for-1 bonus share issue, while also raising HK$500 million by issuing 500 million preferred shares.

Based on his memories from his previous life, Han Li knew that Jia Ning Group's funds were almost insufficient to maintain its current basic operations.

In other words, the collapse of the behemoth that is Jia Ning Group is just around the corner.

Outsiders are unaware of this situation, and even the middle and lower-level employees of Jia Ning Group may not know it.

However, the boss, the financial backer, and the top decision-makers of Jia Ning Group must know this.

The reason Han Li had Anita Koch contact the owner of Jia Ning Group immediately was to leave an impression on him and let him know that someone wanted to acquire some of his properties.

At this point, Jia Ning Group was like a person about to drown. Every injection of new funds could become their lifeline, and they would try their best to grasp every penny.

Even geckos know to detach their tails to survive; the boss of Jia Ning Group couldn't possibly be unaware of this.

Faced with impending bankruptcy liquidation, the businesses of those branch companies were nothing compared to the towering giant that is the Jia Ning Group itself.

If the group's stock can rise by even one cent per share or remain stable for even one more day, the resulting value will exceed that of the subsidiaries and businesses that were sold.

Therefore, Han Li had his eye on the companies and businesses of the Jia Ning Group. Under these circumstances, let alone acquiring them at market price, as long as the timing was right and he could seize the opportunity during negotiations, making them lose some money wouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately, Han Li couldn't tell anyone; this kind of happiness was his alone.

After leaving the coffee shop, Han Li first drove to the opposite side of the sea from the Chinese University of Hong Kong to check on the construction progress of the villa that would be given to Hao Hongmin after it was completed.

The main structure of the villa, including the floor, walls, and roof, is almost complete. The current work involves the installation of pipes, pipe fittings, and electrical wiring.

Even if they can't move in before the new year, Han Li can still bring Hao Hongmin over and tell her that this is the home he prepared for her and the child.

The villas nowadays aren't very interesting; there are just all sorts of building and construction materials everywhere.

However, Han Li still made his way through all the rooms, tossed a few packs of cigarettes to the foreman, and then drove away.

After seeing the house that was about to be completed, the next step was naturally to visit Jing Shujuan.

Although Han Li doesn't plan to tell anyone right now, that doesn't stop him from letting her feel his joy.

When Han Li arrived at Hao Family Boutique Leisure Hall, it was lunchtime. Jing Shujuan was sitting behind the counter, taking money and calling on the kitchen staff and waiters to speed things up.

However, when Jing Shujuan saw Han Li arrive, she immediately forgot all about these things and said with a look of surprise and delight.

"You must not have eaten yet since you came at this time, right?"

Han Li: "No, but whether we eat or not isn't important. What's important is what you know."

After hearing this, Jing Shujuan felt a tingling sensation. She immediately picked up the phone and called a nearby beef restaurant. She asked a waiter to collect the money, gave him instructions, and then led Han Li to the fifth floor.

The fifth floor of the Hao family's house is still the same. Now that the weather is hot, they don't turn on the air conditioning when no one is there.

Han Li was very well-behaved the whole way, but when he arrived on the fifth floor, a wave of heat hit him. He closed the door with his foot and took off his clothes with his hands to feel cooler.

This worked very well; before long, someone was humming an enticing tune.

Once the air conditioner starts running, blowing out cold air and replacing the hot air in the room, some things can become more unrestrained.

Halfway through the song, Jing Shujuan ordered the stewed meat from the beef restaurant, but had no choice but to temporarily put the call on hold.

However, the door on the fifth floor had just been closed when Han Li immediately lifted the Q-shaped pendulum.

I have a magnificent horse that leaps high over the hills.

Carrying a lunchbox, I sang loudly all the way.
The beef soup was spilled all over the floor, but who would care about such a little bit of soup at this point?

When Han Li left Hao Family Boutique Leisure Hall, it was already past three in the afternoon. Sitting in his car, he was reminiscing about the beef he had just eaten.

Well, as expected of Jing Shujuan who specially ordered it.

The beef is tender yet chewy, thick and doesn't get stuck in your teeth, making it easy and effortless to eat.
On his way home, Han Li saw that the person who had been loitering near his house by Houhai Lake had already changed trains in Shanghai and was heading to Guangzhou.
